2017 Annual Report

In 2017, the Trios Foundation worked diligently with our donors, community members, and Trios Health employees to maintain our commitment to bringing quality healthcare to the community. We have received multiple gifts, of all sizes, that represent the sacrifices made by our donors, Trios Health employees, and community members.

The Trios Foundation Executive Team and Board Members remain firm in our passion, commitment, and leadership to meet the needs of our community. As a nonprofit organization, we work daily to be good stewards of the generosity of our donors and make sure your gifts are returned to the community in a meaningful way. Please accept our heartfelt thanks and sincere gratitude for choosing to stand with the Trios Foundation and Trios Health in elevating community health.

In 2017, the Trios Foundation provided $281,730 in donor funds to support programs that have aided women, children, students; provided new technology and equipment; and supported patient services and programs. We are committed to funding community wellness initiatives like the Gartner Child Assistance Fund, Good Samaritan Program, Hematology & Oncology Patient Support Fund, Camp Trios, and Women’s Health Screenings.

These ensure that no one is denied access to the state-of-art medical care they need, while upholding the level of services and care Trios Health uniquely provides to hundreds of patients every day.

Our Board of Directors are working to strengthen our community relationships and are collaborating with all our partners to improve the quality and effectiveness of the Foundation programs, activities, and events in an effort to meet the ever changing needs of our community.

We are truly grateful to all who have contributed their time, talent, and treasure, which has enabled us to keep the quality of community healthcare at the forefront of our decision-making and maintain the high-level of service for those who rely upon us the most.

Darren Szendre Trios Foundation President, 2017- 2018

The Trios Foundation focuses on providing financial support to patient-centered programs, to help meet community needs, and to help purchase the latest in medical equipment.

Provide educational opportunities for students or staff who are pursuing or advancing their career in a healthcare related field. The key considerations for this scholarship are: academic accomplishment, financial need, community involvement, and desire to work in healthcare.

Help kids with Type 1 Diabetes stay happy and healthy. Camp Trios, the first of its kind in the Tri-Cities, is a summer day camp program for children ages 6 to 18 diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. The goal of this three-day camp is to teach participants about their diagnosis and provide them with tools for managing it in a way that does not limit their daily life. At Camp, participants build relationships with peers who have similar health issues, learn how to manage their diabetes, and interact closely with mentors and volunteers who can relate to their experiences and offer advice — all in a fun and safe environment.

Your donations support free women’s health screenings, including mammograms, to underinsured and uninsured women in our community. Past screening events funded by these donations have saved lives with early cancer detection.

Designed to help fill financial gaps for patients enduring the often long and difficult process of cancer treatment, these funds are used to help cover expenses including; prescriptions, transportation or gas cards, groceries, and hotel stays for patients with situations that call for extra support.

When unexpected situations arise and patients need a little bit of extra help, these funds help. Program funds are used in a number of ways, including; transportation, hotel rooms for patients or families, gas cards for a family to travel after a love one has been airlifted, new clothing for patients upon hospital discharge when clothes are damaged, or personal items including reading glasses, hearing aid batteries, denture cream, and reading materials.

Your donation to this Fund, set up by the Paul Gartner Trust, supports children under 12 who may otherwise go without medical treatment for non-terminal conditions due to financial constraints.

Support the miracle of life. Your donation will help new parents provide safe car seats for their babies. You may also purchase a personalized brass leaf on the Center’s Birth Tree for $25.
