    Stillwater, OK

    HOW TO USE THIS BOOKLET

This booklet contains brief descriptions of service and ministry opportunities in theWorship & Welcome, Disciple Development and Administration departments of First ChristianChurch. When used in association with the Service Pledge form this booklet should prove to avaluable tool for helping you find a place of service.

Upon receiving this booklet, take a few moments to review the areas in which you have aninterest. Each service opportunity requires a one-year commitment. The ID number in the far-leftcolumn corresponds with the ID number on the Service Pledge form for a particular service or ministry.

In the Description of Service, when the words adult or youth are used, volunteers onlyneed willing hearts and hands to participate in this ministry. When the word member is used, volunteers also need to be members of the church.

The word needed is used in the description of service to identify those ministries that have been determined as mandatory for the function of the church. If participation in these ministries isinsufficient for the service required, people will be recruited for these ministries as needed.

The word invited is used in the description of service to identify those ministries that aredesired but not mandatory for the function of the church. If participation in these ministries is

insufficient for the service required, people will not be recruited for these ministries. The ministrieswill be postponed until sufficient volunteers step forward to participate. The Frequency of Service column indicates how often (weekly, monthly, etc.) a volunteer

would serve in that area. Note that when the words rotation basis are used, the frequency of service will depend on the number of volunteers that commit to serve. The Estimated Time columnindicates how long (each week, month, etc.) a volunteer would serve in that area. Please consider these factors when you make your service selection (s).

Training will be provided by department directors and coordinators to aid all volunteers todo their chosen ministries to the best of their abilities. Training will start in December and January. The year of service will begin in January or February depending on the ministry.

When filling out your Service Pledge form, first note all the various opportunities for service

that are of interest to you. Then, prayerfully consider the time that you have available to serve in thevarious ministries of the church. Finally select those areas of service for which you would be willingto commit your time and talent for the coming year.
