The Kalahari’s indoor theme park features more than 100,000 square feet of fun. It includes a Ferris wheel more than six stories tall, go-karts, 24 lanes of bowling and mini golf for starters. The IIAW has arranged a $10 special admission rate to the indoor theme park (a $19.95 value) for Friday. You must reserve your wristbands with the conference registration form (below). The resort’s room accommodations are spacious. Our deeply discounted room rate for a Desert or Hut Room is $149 (plus 11% sales/room tax) per night, which is nearly half off the standard summer room rate. Each Desert/Hut Room has a microwave, mini-refrigerator, coffee maker and two queen beds. The Desert Room also has a sofa sleeper. A limited number of Royal African Queen suites are also available on a first-come, first-serve basis, at a special discounted rate. The suites feature two bedrooms, two baths, sitting area, balcony, three TVs, microwave and refrigerator. This conference is a popular event. Scott Deetz introduces the Consumer Agent Portal (CAP) which will deliver digital marketing tools and services to increase the online market presence of independent agencies, brokers and carriers in personal lines insurance. Learn first-hand about CAP, an industry initiative driven by the leadership vision of key insurance carriers and IIABA, along with Trusted Choice and Big "I" state associations. Scott Deetz is the CEO of Entrepreneurial Advantage. Scott's passion and dedication to entrepreneurial organizations began with his own company as the President & CEO of MI-Assistant Software. Scott led the growth of the organization to serve over 2,000 leading insurance agencies

and carriers. Scott has taught hundreds of business owners how to leverage technology to achieve growth through his dynamic presentations and workshops.

10:00 a.m. to 12:50 p.m. - Session! Umbrella Policies for Today’s World, featuring speaker Brad Meyer Filed for 3 CE credits. Jury awards, legal fees, increasing medical costs and new sources of exposures are presenting more economic dangers in today’s society. Umbrella policies, once thought to be a luxury, have become a necessity. Instructor Brad Meyer will identify some new types of dangers, such as social media, slander, and libel, and how they may affect policyholders. Real world case studies will be examined.

Brad Meyer is director of business development at ABRA Auto Body & Glass in Minneapolis, MN. His 25 years of industry experience makes him uniquely qualified to lead this session.

8:30 to 12:30 p.m. - Session! Ethics In Today’s Changing Times, featuring speaker Gabrielle O’Brien Approved for 4 CE credits. Instructor Gabrielle O’Brien will help session participants develop tools that will be useful in increasing awareness and improving ethics. Gabrielle will examine actual case studies and discuss the impacts on the insured, insurer, and the intermediary. Program highlights include: Exploring Code of Conduct Procedures; Developing Awareness of Potential Ethical Issues; Understanding Positive Business Ethics; and Warning Signs of an Insurer’s Financial Instability.

Gabrielle O’Brien, MBA, has been active in the insurance industry for more than 25 years. As the lead instructor of the IIA of Wisconsin’s Prelicensing Schools, she has guided thousands of students to successfully passing the insurance intermediary’s exam. O’Brien has participated in many other aspects of the industry as an underwriter, manager, and field representative. Gabrielle also teaches INS 21, 22 and 23, a variety of seminars and college courses.

Josh Johanningmeier will dissect and explain the recent Supreme Court rulings about the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) and talk about what those decisions mean to independent insurance agents. Josh will also discuss what options are available to states going forward.
