For By Grace Are You Saved Through Faith; And That Not Of Yourselves:

It Is The Gift Of God Not Of Works, Lest Any Man Should Boast.

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which

God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

If every couple getting married would study the true application of love, marriages would be more secure today. It would close most of the divorce courts. Real love survives at any cost.

To get a real picture and an understanding of love we must study the love Christ had for a sinful world.

I want to deal with the subject LOVE today from the aspects of Christ’s Love.

1) LOVE IS A SACRIFICE

A. A Sacrifice Must Die … John 15:13, 13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.B. A Sacrifice Must Suffer Long … I Cor. 13:4, Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up.

· Love is long suffering.· Jesus suffered long hours on the cross.

· He suffered for hours in the garden, before going to the cross.· If you display godly love, you will be long suffering.

· So before you pack your bags and move out, read 1 Cor. 13:4.· Before you call the lawyer, read John 3:16.

Love is a sacrifice.C. Love Gives Itself … Gal. 2:20, I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh

I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.· You will never find Christ leaving us.

· It is always that we leave Him.· Giving yourself makes the marriage permanent.

2) LOVE IS A COMMITMENT

John 14:24-27, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal. If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour. Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father,

save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour.

3) LOVE IS INSEPARABLE

Rom 8:35-39, Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors

through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

A. Real love cannot be separated.

4) LOVE DOESN’T SEEK REVENGE

“Father, forgive them for they know not what they do”.· Revenge will bring great harm to you and your marriage.

5) LOVE IS ETERNAL

· Never-ending love. Christ’s love is eternal. “Nothing shall separate His love.”· “Eternal life.”· “Eternal love.”

You can make love work if you will seek after the same kind of love that Christ has toward us.

WHAT IS REAL LOVE? … John 3:16 … Galatians 2:20

INTRODUCTION: If any one word is more misused and misunderstood today it is the word LOVE. There are more marriage ceremonies performed with couples who do not love each other than there are that do. Lives

are wrecked because of a wrong understanding of love. Love is more than a present satisfaction.

Love is more than just today. Love is more than saying “I do” in a ceremony, and then rushing off on a honeymoon trip.

God Bless

Ellis BartleyA Big Investment

Psalm 139:14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

In God’s sight, man has tremendous value. Not only does he have an eternal soul worth more than the whole world

(Matthew 16:26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?), but he also possesses an eternal soul.

Biophysicist Harold J. Morowitz of Yale University reached some startling conclusions about the monetary value of the hu-man body. Taking into consideration the proteins, enzymes, RNA, DNA, amino acids and other complex biochemicals that make up the stuff of life, he states that these raw materials would be very expensive……..more than any previous esti-

mate. Says Dr. Morowitz, “Fashioning this chemical shopping list into human cells might cost $6,000,000,000,000,000 (six quadrillion dollars) Assembling the resulting heap of cells into tissue, the tissue into organs, and organs into a warm

body might drain all the treasures of the world, with no guarantee of success.” Even if all of this were accomplished, mod-ern science still has an unsurmounting hurdle….”the spirit of life.” Science has never produced any form of recognizable

life. Life comes from God.

Genesis 2:7 …the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. As we think about this, we are impressed anew by the astounding wisdom and creative power of the Lord who made us. ”marvelous are thy works.”

God’s handiwork in creation shows His greatness, yet there are those who cannot, or won’t, accept the fact of creation. They cannot understand that God made us in His own image…..With all of today’s knowledge and technology man has

never even been able to duplicate the human eye. Our very best and most expensive cameras cannot focus as quickly and accurately as the human eye. The hand or even the foot have baffled all who have tried to duplicate them. Yes, “we are

fearfully and wonderfully made.“

In light of all of this, we should stand in awe at the marvelous work of God’s divine fingers in forming man. Realizing that He has a lot “invested” in us, “that my soul knoweth right well,” let’s use that investment for His glory.

Unlike animals, human beings have been made in God’s own image for the purpose of fellowship with Him. When Adam and Eve rebelled against their creator, He did not let them perish. He loved the fallen human race so much that He gave His only begotten

Son to redeem man, for man is the crown of His creation. John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in

him should not perish, but have everlasting life.For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world;

but that the world through him might be saved.

I have often wondered how an all knowing God, who could see the end from the begin-ning, and considering the wickedness in the world today, could love mankind enough to send His only Son to suffer the ridicule, the beating, the shame He went through…….and even to die for the sins of a fallen race that has insulted Him in every way imagin-

able, dear friend, that’s love you can’t explain.

Man’s wonderful body should be sacrificed in service, not squandered in sin.

CHRISTIAN WAYS TO REDUCE STRESS

An Angel says, “Never borrow from the future. If you worry about what may

happen tomorrow and it doesn’t happen, you have worried in vain. Even if

it does happen, you have to worry twice.”

1. Pray

2. Go to bed on time.

3. Get up on time so you can start the day unrushed.

4. Say No to projects that won’t fit into your time schedule, or that

will compromise your mental health.

5. Delegate tasks to capable others.

6. Simplify and unclutter your life.

7. Less is more.(Although one is often not enough, two are often too many.)

8. Allow extra time to do things and to get to places.

9. Pace yourself. Spread out big changes and difficult projects over

time; don’t lump the hard things all together.

10. Take one day at a time.

11. Separate worries from concerns. If a situation is a concern, find out

what God would have you do and let go of the anxiety. If you can’t do

anything about a situation, forget it.

12. Live within your budget; don’t use credit cards for ordinary purchases.

13. Have backups; an extra car key in your wallet, an extra house key buried

in the garden, extra stamps, etc.

14. K.M.S. (Keep Mouth Shut). This single piece of advice can prevent an

enormous amount of trouble.

15. Do something for the Kid in You everyday.

16. Carry a Bible with you to read while waiting in line.

17. Get enough rest.

18. Eat right.

19. Get organized so everything has its place.

20. Listen to a tape while driving that can help improve your quality of

life.

21. Write down thoughts and inspirations.

22. Every day, find time to be alone.

23. Having problems? Talk to God on the spot. Try to nip small problems

in the bud. Don’t wait until it’s time to go to bed to try and pray.

24. Make friends with Godly people.

25. Keep a folder of favorite scriptures on hand.

26. Remember that the shortest bridge between despair and hope is often a

good “Thank you Jesus.”

27. Laugh.

28. Laugh some more!

29. Take your work seriously, but not yourself at all.

30. Develop a forgiving attitude(most people are doing the best they can).

31. Be kind to unkind people (they probably need it the most).

32. Sit on your ego.

33. Talk less; listen more.

34. Slow down.

35. Remind yourself that you are not the general manager of the universe.

36 . Every night before bed, think of one thing you’re grateful for that

you’ve never been grateful for before. GOD HAS A WAY OF TURNING THINGS

AROUND FOR YOU. “If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31)

Traveling On Your Knees

Last night I took a journeyTo a land across the seas.

I didn’t go by ship or planeI traveled on my knees.

I saw so many people thereIn bondage to their sin,

And Jesus told me I should go,That there were souls to win.But I said “Jesus, I can’t go

To lands across the seas.”He answered quickly, “Yes, you can

By traveling on your knees.”He said, “You pray, I’ll meet the need.

You call, and I will hear. It’s up to you to be concernedFor lost souls far and near.”And so I did; knelt in prayer,Gave up some hours of ease,

And with the Savior by my side,I traveled on my knees.

As I prayed on, I saw souls savedAnd twisted persons healed,

I saw God’s workers strength renewedWhile laboring in the field.

I said, “Yes Lord, I’ll take the job.Your heart I want to please.

I’ll heed Your call and swiftly goBy traveling on my knees.”

I Am Learning, LordMy life has taken many falls

And tumbles ‘long the way.The many trials have left me

In a sure state of dismay. For with each trial, I tried alone

To tend, and soothe, and mend,Instead of giving them to God -

And on Him just depend…But I am learning, Lord.

It seems that I was determinedTo carry all the load;

I longed for smoother pathwaysYet I walked a rocky road.Little did I understand -

God waited patientlyTo pave a new beginning

With a better life for me…But I am learning, Lord.

It took a real disasterTo bring me to my knees;

To finally call upon the LordAnd say, “God help me please.”

He can with no delayingWith strong arms that could hold -

The weight of all my burdens; He gladly took the load.

And I am learning, Lord. What a needless cross I carried,

All because I could not see -What a friend I have in Jesus,

And the love He has for me.Peace I find when troubles hover,Though’ the outcome is unknown,

For if yet the road is rocky,I won’t walk it all alone…For I am learning, Lord.Pass this inspiration on…

This prayer is powerful, and prayer is one of the best gifts we receive..

There is no cost but a lot of rewards. Let’s always pray for one another.

The prayer:Father, Thank You for each and every day You have

blessed us here on earth. Thank You for Your tender mercies. Thank You for giving us friends and family

to share these joys with. I ask You to bless my friends, relatives and those I care deeply for who are reading this right now.. Where there is joy, give them continued joy, Where there is pain, give them your peace and mercy.

Where there is self-doubt, release a renewed confidence.Where there is need, fulfill their needs.Bless their homes, families, finances,

their goings and their comingsIn Jesus’ name Amen.

This is such a wonderful story on faith. Fasten your Seatbelts!!

A pastor I know had been on a long flight from one place to another. The first warning of approaching problems came when the sign on the airplane flashed on FASTEN YOUR SEATBELTS. Then, after a while, a calm voice said, ‘We shall not be serving the bever-ages at this time because we are expecting a little turbulence. Please be sure your seat belt is fastened.’ As he looked around the aircraft, it became obvious that many of the passengers were becoming apprehensive. Later, the voice of the announcer said, ‘We are so sorry that we are unable to serve the meal at this time. The turbulence is still ahead of us.’ And then the storm broke. The ominous cracks of thunder could be heard even above the roar of the engines. Lightning lit up the darkening skies, and within moments that great plane was like a cork tossed around on a celestial ocean. One moment the air-plane was lifted on terrific currents of air; the next, it dropped as if it were about to crash. The pastor confessed that he shared the discomfort and fear of those around him. He said, ‘As I looked around the plane, I could see that nearly all the passengers were upset and alarmed. Some were praying. The future seemed ominous and many were wondering if they would make it through the storm. Then, I suddenly saw a little girl. Apparently the storm meant nothing to her! She had tucked her feet beneath her as she sat on her seat; she was reading a book and ev-erything within her small world was calm and orderly. Sometimes she closed her eyes, then she would read again; then she would straighten her legs, but worry and fear were not in her world. When the plane was being buffeted by the terrible storm, when it lurched this way and that, as it rose and fell with frightening severity, when all the adults were scared half to death, that marvelous child was completely composed and unafraid.’ The minister could hardly believe his eyes. When the plane finally reached its destination and all the passengers were hurrying to disembark, our pastor lingered to speak to the girl whom he had watched for such a long time. Having commented about the storm and behavior of the plane, he asked why she had not been afraid. The child replied, ‘Cause my Daddy’s the pilot, and he’s taking me home.’ There are many kinds of storms that buffet us. Physical, mental, financial, domestic, and many other storms can easily and quickly darken our skies and throw our plane spinning out of control. We have all known such times, let’s be honest and confess it. Just remember: Our Father is the Pilot. He is in control and taking us home!

Chair Dancing==============

Your article on “Can I Dance” made me think of the past fewyears of my life.

Three years ago I had to start using a wheel chair part-time,but with help I could still hobble up the stairs to sit in the

choir while everyone else stood to sing.

I’m short so I might not have been seen very well, but I wasn’tthere to be seen. I was praising the Lord with everything that

was within me and my spirit was soaring on Eagles’ Wings.

About nine months ago the doctor said, “No more standing!Your knees are bleeding internally, and we can only give the

shots to stop them from bleeding every six months. Unless theyput a ramp up, you will have to quit singing in the choir.”

I have had a heart condition since birth that the doctors saymakes surgery too risky, and even though I keep telling thedoctors that I have a Great Physician, they aren’t willing to

take the risk to operate.

I mentioned to the Elders of the Church that without a ramp Icould no longer sing in the choir. Then I went home and prayed

about it. The Lord gave me a peace about not singing in the choir.

He gave me a special calling in my heart to encourage otherswith disabilities via the Internet.

There are so many people with disabilities who need prayer or apersonal encouraging word. They may need a special issue of“MountainWings” that day or more particularly, the beautiful

words of the Holy Bible, the blessed comforter.

Now I am much too busy for choir practice! However, the Lordkeeps me singing in my heart. My prayer list is much too long, and answering letters of those dear friends I have come to love

through the Internet who are in need of words of encouragementkeeps me much too busy for choir practice.

I’m busy reminding those whom I love that the Lord is the sourcefrom which our true strength comes and brings them closer to the

Lord.

I still sing with everything that is in me, I can dance in mywheel chair just as my feet danced before, and my spirit stillsoars! Singing and dancing can just bubble up from the joy of

the Lord in our hearts when we have given Him everything that iswithout and within us!

“That awful day will surely come, The appointed hour makes haste,

When I must stand before my Judge,And pass the solemn test.

“If now thou standest at the door,O, let me feel thee near;

And make my peace w8iht God, before I at thy bar appear. -- Anonymous

It is said that at the University of Chicago Divinity School each year they have what is called “Baptist Day.” On this day each one is to bring a lunch to be eaten outdoors in a grassy picnic area. Every “Baptist Day”,

the school would invite one of the greatest minds to lecture in the theological education center.

The story is that one year they invited Dr. Paul Tillich. Dr. Tillich spoke for two and one-half hours “prov-ing” that the resurrection of Jesus was false. He quoted scholar after scholar and book after book. He

concluded that since there was no such thing as the historical resurrection, the religious tradition of the church was groundless, emotional mumbo- jumbo, because it was based on a relationship with a risen Je-sus, who, in fact, never rose from the dead in any literal sense. He then asked if there were any questions.

After about 30 seconds, an old, dark skinned preacher with a head of short-cropped, woolly white hair stood up in the back of the auditorium.

“Docta Tillich, I got one question,” he said as all eyes turned toward him. He reached into his sack lunch and pulled out an apple and began eating it.

“Docta Tillich”... CRUNCH, MUNCH... “My question is a simple question,” CRUNCH, MUNCH. “Now, I ain’t never read them books you read...” CRUNCH, MUNCH “...and I can’t recite the Scriptures in the original

Greek”... CRUNCH MUNCH...” I don’t know nothin’ about Niebuhr and Heidegger”... CRUNCH,MUNCH .. He finished the apple. “All I wanna know is: This apple I just ate... was it bitter or sweet?”

Dr. Tillich paused for a moment and answered in exemplary scholarly fashion: “I cannot possibly answer that question, for I haven’t tasted your apple.”

The white-haired preacher dropped the core of his apple into his crumpled paper bag, looked up at Dr. Tillich and said calmly, “Neither have you tasted my Jesus.”

The 1,000 plus in attendance could not contain themselves. The auditorium erupted with applause and cheers Dr. Tillich thanked his audience and promptly left the platform.

Have you tasted Jesus?

“Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him.” Psalm 34:8

WITH LIGHT

To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace. Luke1:79The contrast between light and darkness is sunning. I recall a moment on a tour of Carlsbad Caverns when the guide turned off the lights and we experienced total darkness. Then we were amazed how much the darkness was dispelled by a single lighted match.Jesus is the Light of the world (John 8:12). Living in HIs light contrasts with the spiritual darkness of living without Him. Spiritual darkness is expressed in gloom and fear. A new believer in the knowledge of Christ and said, “When one is born in the darkness and lives in the darkness all his life, he doesn’t even know there is a light,”Isaiah said, “The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light:” (9:2 KJV). Jesus in that light, and He brings a new beginning to those in darkness.Lord, help me to be a witness who brings people out of the darkness of sin into the light of Your love.

I Know Something Good About You…Wouldn’t this old world be better,

If the folks we meet would say:I know something good about you,And then treat us just that way!

Wouldn’t it be fine and dandy,If each hand-clasp warm and trueCarried with it this assurance –

I know something good about you!Wouldn’t things here be more pleasant,

If the good that’s in us allWere the only things about usThat folks bothered to recall!

Wouldn’t life be lots more happyIf we’d praise the good we see!

For there’s such a lot of goodnessIn the worst of you and me.

Wouldn’t it be nice to practiceThis fine way of thinking too;

You know something good about me,I know something good about you!

Pass this inspiration on to all your family and friends…

Effective Immediately, please be aware that there are changes YOU need to make in YOUR life. These changes need to be

completed in order that I may fulfill. My promises to you to grant you peace, joy and happiness in this life. I apologize for any inconvenience, but after all that I am doing, this seems very little to ask of you. Please,

follow these 10 guidelines. 1. QUIT WORRYING:

Life has dealt you a blow and all you do is sit and worry. Have you forgotten that I am here to take all your burdens and carry them for you? Or do you just enjoy fretting over every little thing that comes your way?

2. PUT IT ON THE LIST:Something needs done or taken care of. Put it on the list. No, not YOUR list. Put it on MY to-do-list. Let ME be the one to take care of the problem. I can’t help you until you turn it over to Me And although My

to-do-list is long, I am after all... God. I can take care of anything you put into My hands. In fact, if the truth were ever really known, I take care of a lot of things for you that you never even realize.

3. TRUST ME: Once you’ve given your burdens to Me,quit trying to take them back. Trust in Me. Have the faith that I will

take care of all your needs, your problems and your trials. Problems with the kids? Put them on My list. Problem with finances? Put it on My list. Problems with your emotional roller coaster? For My sake, put it

on My list. I want to help you. All you have to do is ask. 4. LEAVE IT ALONE:

Don’t wake up one morning and say, “Well, I’m feeling much stronger now, I think I can handle it from here.” Why do you think you are feeling stronger now? It’s simple You gave Me your burdens and I’m

taking care of them. I also renew your strength and cover you in my peace. Don’t you know that if I give you these problems back, you will be right back where you started? Leave them with Me and forget about

them. Just let Me do my job.

6. HAVE FAITH:I see a lot of things from up here that you can’t see from where you are. Have

faith in Me that I know what I’m doing. Trust Me; you wouldn’t want the view from My eyes.I will continue to care for you, watch over you, and meet your

needs. You only have to trust Me. Although I have a much bigger task than you, it seems as if you have so much trouble just doing your simple part. How hard can

trust be? 7. SHARE:

You were taught to share when you were only two years old. When did you forget? That rule still applies. Share with those who are less fortunate than you. Share your joy with those who need encouragement. Share your laughter with

those who haven’t heard any in such a long time. Share your tears with those who have forgotten how to cry. Share your faith with those who have none.

8. BE PATIENT:I managed to fix it so in just one lifetime you could have so many diverse

experiences. You grow from a child to an adult, have children, change jobs many times, learn many trades, travel to so many places, meet thousands of people, and experience so much. How can you be so impatient then when it takes Me a little

longer than you expect to handle something on My to-do-list? Trust in My timing, for My timing is perfect. Just because I created the entire universe in only six

days, everyone thinks I should always rush, rush, rush. 9. BE KIND:

Be kind to others, for I love them just as much as I love you. They may not dress like you, or talk like you, or live the same way you do, but I still love you all.

Please try to get along, for My sake. I created each of you different in some way. It would be too boring if you were all identical. Please, know I love each of your

differences.10. LOVE YOURSELF:

As much as I love you, how can you not love yourself? You were created by me for one reason only -- to be loved, and to love in return. I am a God of Love. Love Me. Love your neighbors. But also love yourself. It makes My heart ache when I see you so angry with yourself when things go wrong. You are very precious to

me. Don’t ever forget that.

5. TALK TO ME: I want you to forget a lot of things. Forget what was making you crazy. Forget the worry and the fretting

because you know I’m in control. But there’s one thing I pray you never forget. Please, don’t forget to talk to Me - OFTEN! I love YOU! I want to hear your voice. I want you to include Me in on the things going

on in your life. I want to hear you talk about your friends and family. Prayer is simply you having a conversation with Me. I want to be your dearest friend.

THE ENDHave you, my dear reader, thought seriously of the end?

the end of this day, the end of this month, the end of this year, the end of this life? Indeed, the end of all earthly things? The

end is surely coming! It may be near. The end will come soon. This life is short and uncertain at

the best. A few more rising and setting suns, and we shall be gone-- numbered with the dead.

The end may come when you are not looking for it. Long life, many days yet, you may be saying, “To-morrow shall be as

this day and much more abundant.” But God may say to you, as he did to the rich man of old, “Thou fool, this night thy soul

shall be required of thee; then whose shall those things be which thou hast provided?”

The end may come suddenly, like the flash of the lightning, or stealthily as a thief in the night. “For in such an hour as ye

think not the Son of man cometh,”The end may come when you are not prepared for it-- not

prepared at all, or poorly prepared for it. Are you prepared for it now? What assurance have you that you would be in the

future? Procrastination is the thief of time,” O, what shall the end of all earhtly things be to you -- to you as an individual? Would sudden death be sudden glory? “And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner

appear?” “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Blessed are they that are homesick, for they shall come at last to the Father’s house. Henrich Stillings

KID’S CORNERMy Dear Friend,

How are you? I just had to send you this letter to tell you how much I love and care about you. I saw you yesterday as you were walking with your friends. I waited all day, hoping that soon you'd want me to walk along with you, too.

As evening drew near, I painted you a sunset to close your day and whispered a cool breeze to refresh you, and I waited. You never came. Oh yes, it hurt Me, but

I just kept on loving you.As I watched you fall asleep last night, I longed to touch your brow. I spilled moonlight upon your face, trickling down your cheeks as so many tears have.

Again I waited, but you didn't even think of me. I wanted so much to rush down so we could talk. I have so many gifts for you.

The next day I exploded a brilliant sunrise into glorious morning for you. But you awakened late and rushed off for the day. You didn't even notice Me. My sky

became cloudy and my tears were the rain. Oh, how I LOVE YOU!Today you looked so sad and so alone. It makes my heart ache because I

understand. My friends let Me down and hurt Me many times too. Oh, if you'd only listen. I really LOVE you. I try to say it in the quiet of the green meadow and in the vibrant blue sky. The wind whispers my love throughout the treetops and

spills it into the vivid colors of all the flowers. I shout it to you in the in the thunder of the great waterfalls, in mountain streams, and I compose love songs

for birds to sing for you.I warm you with the clothing of my warm sunshine and perfume the air with

nature's sweet scent. My love for you is deeper than any ocean and greater than the biggest want or need you may have. If you'd only realize how much I really

care.We will spend eternity together in heaven. I know how hard it is on earth. I know

because I was once there. I really want to help you.My Father cares for you and wants to help you, too. Fathers are just that way. So please, call on me soon. Just call Me, ask Me, talk to Me. It is your decision.

I have chosen you. No matter how long it takes, I'll wait forever because I LOVE YOU!

Your friend, Jesus

A Valentine Prayer

I said a Valentine prayer for youand asked the Lord above

to fill your heart and bless your soulWith the precious gift of love.

I asked Him for sincere loveThe kind that’s meant to stay

Just like the generous loveYou give to those you touch each day.

I prayed for love from familyAnd from every cherished friend

Then I asked the Lord to give youHis love that knows no end.

Love is patient,Love is kind.

It bears all things,Believes all things,Hopes all things,

Endures all things.Love never fails.

Happy Valentine’s Day

FLAME OF LOVE“I can master it,” said the Ax.

His blows fell heavy on the hard, strong steel. But each blow

only made his edge more blunt until he ceased to strike.

“Leave it to me,” said the Saw. With his relentless teeth, he worked back and forth. But to

his dismay, all of his teeth were worn out or broken off.

“Ha!” said the Hammer. “I knew you could not do this. Let me show you how.” But with the

very first blow, his head flew off, and the steel was unchanged.“Shall I try?” asked the Flame.

And it curled itself gently around the strong, hard steel,

embraced it, and would not let it go. And the tough steel

melted. There are hearts that are hard

enough to resist the forces of wrath and the fury of pride. But hard is the heart that can resist the warm flame of Love. And isn’t that what God tells us to do Love one another.

GRACE

An Understanding Mind A jumble in my mind I say,

Words that can’t be understood.A thought that’s gone astray,

Bring it back if I could. I shuffle and ramble,

In my brain my thoughts array.Lord, help me please....

Can’t stand hurting this way! And He speaks in that soft voice

Known only to his own.Be still my child, know I am here;

You are not alone. I hear the humble cry of desperation,

The fear within your mind,Be still, know I am here,

Above all, be kind. You are the vesselIn which I dwell.

Through your words,Others read Heaven’s mail. So be thoughtful and kind,

Words that honor me, speak.Above all, my Child,

Please be meek. I know that most of you don’t know that my husband Jack is dying with cancer but this poem made me think of how much he is going thru and he has only

spoken of how the Lord is in control. Not a complaint or question as to why this has happened only praise for our Lord and Saviour and how one day soon he

will be with our Lord up in heaven. I feel that speaks volumes as to the character of this wonderful man he is truly a vessel in which God dwells. He is the kindest and most gentle person I’ve ever known and I know that the Lord

has given him such peace with all of this. He has been so strong and meek thru all of this and I know that God can still touch him and heal him so please

keep him in your prayers.

TEEN SCENE

Enough

Many things in this old worldAre so corrupt today

With prisons overflowingAnd children gone astray.

The word of

is quite taboo

It brings our country shameTo seek Him in a public placeWe dare not speak His name.

He won’t be found in classroomsIt would be found, a sin

To let our small ones gather roundAnd offer praise to Him.

They’ve taken God from every bookAnd from our government

The laws that made our country strongAre crooked, vile and bent.I only pray, it’s not too late

To turn it all aroundEtch the Bible in the hearts

Of everyone in town. For if we wait and tarry on

And go about our wayGod will finally shout “enough”

The trumpet then will play.We will not find sweet mercy

When we look to Him for graceWe will not see contentment When we gaze upon His face. We’ll know His wrath and fury

With our backs against the wallHe’ll say, “I never knew you.”

The curtain then will fall.

Psalm.3LORD, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise

up against me. Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah. But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head. I cried unto the LORD with my voice,

and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah. I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me. I will not be afraid of ten thou-

sands of people, that have set themselves against me round about. Arise, O LORD; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies

upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.Salvation belongeth unto the LORD: thy blessing is upon thy people.

Selah.

Thanking Jesus on Valentine’s Day

I give my heart to JesusThis special time of year

When others seem so distantMy Lord is always near.

When the world is lost in candyAnd sending cards around

When everyone is busyMy Lord can then be found.

When I am feeling lonelyMy Lord is always there When I am feeling fragileHe handles me with care.

When others seem so lovingAnd go the extra mileIt only takes my Jesus

To really make me smile. When people pass out chocolate

And flowers signed with love I thank my Lord for sending

His Son from up above. When all is lost in sweetness

I hang my head to prayMy Lord is extra preciousThis special heartfelt day.

FELLOWSHIP OF THE UNASHAMED

I am part of the “Fellowship of the Unashamed.”I have Holy Spirit power. The die has been cast.

I’ve stepped over the line. The decision has been made.I am a disciple of His.

I won’t look back, let up, slow down, back away, or be still. My past is redeemed, my present makes sense,

and my future is secure.I am finished and one with low living, sight walking, small planning,

smooth knees, colorless dreams, tame visions, mundane talking , chintzy giving, and dwarfed goals!

I no longer need preeminence, prosperity, position, promotions, plaudits, or popularity.

I don’t have to be right, first, tops, recognized, praised, regarded, or rewarded. I now live by presence, learn by faith,

love by patience, live by prayer, and labor by power. My face is set, my gait is fast, my goal is heaven,

my road is narrow,my way is rough, my companions few, my guide reliable, my mission clear.

I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, diluted, or delayed.

I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in thepresence of adversity, negotiate at the table of the enemy,

ponder at the pool of popularity, or meander in the maze of mediocrity.

I am a disciple of Jesus.I Won’t give up, Shut up, Let go, Slow up

until I’ve preached up, Prayed up, Paid up, Stored up,and Stayed up for the cause of Christ.

I must go till He comes, give till I drop, preach till all know, and work till He stops.

And when He comes to get His own, He’ll have no problems

recognizing me...my colors will be clear.

Through Jesus Hope LivesFor a moment or perhaps a long while, we are dropped into the depths of despair,

a tragedy of intense proportions. In the darkness we struggle with difficult and often confusing feelings. As Christians we often feel guilty about these feelings.

All are true human emotions, and necessary in enabling us to cope. God understands our pain and our suffering. He will wrap his loving arms around us, He will be there when no

one else can. After a time we begin to feel his presence. You can see a faint light in the distance.

This is the light of HOPE. Moving toward the light -The Holy Spirit takes us by the hand and helps us to move

even closer to the light. The light of the Lord that shines into each of our lives. Here in The Lords loving presence our souls and our wounds begin to heal.

God has a plan for us and we can rest assured that we have been called here for a purpose. Our job is not yet finished. We must continue to move forward.

We might not understand the sequence of events in our lives. We might not understand the meaning of our suffering.

But we have not lost everything , we are not alone. We will always have HOPE.

“For He hath said, “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”

So, that we may boldly say, “The Lord is my helper,

and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.”

(Hebrews 13:5b-6 KJV)

If you meet me and forget me you have lost nothing. If you meet CHRIST and forget Him

you have lost EVERYTHING.

“Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now here-with, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing that there shall not be room enough to receive it.”

I SAW JESUS LAST WEEK.....

I saw Jesus last week. He was wearing blue jeans and an old shirt. He was up at the church building. He was alone and working hard.

For just a minute He looked like one of our members, but it was Jesus,I could tell by his smile. I saw Jesus last Sunday.

He was teaching a Bible class. He didn’t talk real loud or use long words, But you could tell he believed what he said. For just a minute

He looked like my Sunday School teacher, But it was Jesus, I could tell by his loving voice.I saw Jesus yesterday. He was at the hospital visitingA friend who was sick. They prayed together quietly.

For just a minute He looked like my preacher, But it was Jesus,I could tell by the tears in his eyes. I saw Jesus the other day,

He was bringing a covered dish over to me Because I had been sick.Just for a minute I thought it was in my sweet neighbor’s Gentle hands stroking my shoulder,

But it was Jesus, I could feel him in my soul. I saw Jesus this morning. He was in the kitchen making my breakfast And fixing me a special lunch.

For just a minute He looked like my Mom, But it was Jesus,I could feel the love from his heart. I see Jesus everywhere, Taking food to the sick,Being friendly to a newcomer, And for just a minute I think he’s someone I know,

But it’s always Jesus, I can tell by the way He serves.May someone see Jesus in me today.....

SWEET HOUR OF PRAYER

Dear God, much too often we seek you in prayer,Because we are wallowing in our own self-despair.

We make every word we lamentingly speak,An imperative plea for whatever we seek.

We pray for ourselves and so seldom for others,We're concerned with our problems and not with our

brothers. We seem to forget, that the SWEET HOUR OF

PRAYER Is not for self seeking, but to place in your care,

All the lost souls unloved and unknownAnd to keep praying for them until they're your own.

For it's never enough to seek God in prayer,With no thought of others who are lost in despair.

So teach us, that the POWER OF PRAYERIs made stronger by placing the world in your care~~
