1. 4N(T) to ITE

1. All 4N(T) students are strongly encouraged to

seek admission to the ITE for their post-

secondary education. Refer to handout for

application process and deadlines.

2. There is keen competition for places in ITE

Nitec. You must participate in the Main

Application Phase, else your chances of

gaining a place in ITE will be greatly reduced.

3. Students need to exercise the full 12 choices

and include less popular options to maximise

the chances of a successful posting. (see pg 10

of ITE admission booklet for Nitec)

Sec 4N(T) students with 0 or 1 N-level subject pass

will be given the option to enrol in the enhanced

Nitec Foundation Programme (e-NFP).

� You will also receive 1 copy of eNFP Invitation

Letter for school leaver (addressed to student) and

1 copy of eNFP Invitation Letter for

parent/guardian (in multiple languages).

� When you apply online, go through the JIE ‘E’

application process for the 3-Year Nitec course in

addition to the JIE ‘N’ application process for the

2-Year Nitec course (see slide 12 onwards in the

handout).

Sec 4N(T) students with 0 or 1 N-level subject pass

will be given the option to enrol in the enhanced

Nitec Foundation Programme (e-NFP).

� You MUST apply for the eNFP or 3-Year Nitec course, applicants

will always be considered first for 2-Year Nitec courses before

being considered for eNFP courses. Hence, there is no penalty or

disadvantage for applicants who apply for the eNFP in addition

to their existing application choices.

� The e-NFP courses, have a different pool of applicants and so it

will be easier to get into the course that the school leaver is

interested in.

� The additional eNFP year will be used to develop literacy and

numeracy skills so applicants have a better overall chance at

completing the Nitec programme and obtaining a Nitec

certificate

3. 4N(A) to Polytechnic Foundation

Programme (PFP)

� PFP aims to prepare well-performing Sec 4N(A)

students for progression into selected

polytechnic diploma courses.

� As an alternative to Sec 5, the PFP is a diploma-

specific foundation programme conducted over

two semesters at the polytechnics.

� About 1,200 PFP places are offered annually,

spread across more than 80% of diploma course

offerings at the polytechnics.

� Eligibility does not guarantee placement in a PFP

course .

3. 4N(A) to Polytechnic Foundation

Programme (PFP)

Criteria

�EL MA B3 ≤ 11 points or less.

�EL & Math must be ≤Grade 3

�At least Grade 3 for remaining 3 subjects

Offer letters will be given after the release of

GCE O-Level Results. Students interested in

applying for PFP should first progress to Sec 5

in 2015.

4. 4N(A) to ITE then Poly via ITE Direct Entry

Scheme to Polytechnic Programme (DPP)

1. DPP aims to prepare well-performing Secondary

4N(A) students for progression into selected

polytechnic diploma courses via a two-year (plus

a 10-week preparatory programme) Higher Nitec

programme at ITE.

2. DPP students who successfully complete their

Higher Nitec courses at ITE and attain the

required qualifying Grade Point Average (GPA)

scores are guaranteed a place in a polytechnic

diploma course mapped to their Higher Nitec

course.

Submission of Direct-Entry-Scheme to Polytechnic Programme (DPP) Applications

� Upon release of the GCE N-Level results, all DPP-eligible

students will receive a copy of Form N should note that

each copy of Form N contains a unique Personal

Identification Number (PIN). Students should use the

respective PIN to submit their applications online via

the DPP application website (https://www.ite.edu.sg ).

� Students who have sat for both GCE ‘N’ and GCE ‘O’

Level examination subjects can apply for the DPP prior

to the release of their GCE ‘O’ Level results. They may

submit an application in December using both their GCE

‘N’ Level and school-based preliminary ‘O’ Level results

Submission of Direct-Entry-Scheme to Polytechnic Programme (DPP) Applications

Release of DPP Posting Results (info from press release)

�The DPP posting results will be released at 9.00 am on Friday 23 December 2015. Students will be notified of this via SMS (if they provide their mobile phone details). They will also be able to check their posting results online via the respective application portal.

�Students are required to log on to the DPP website between 9.00 am on 23 December 2015 to 5.00 pm on 28 December 2015 to indicate whether they wish to accept or reject the DPP offer.

For students who are only interested in the PFP:

• You should progress to Sec 5, and apply for the PFP in

January. Students who have accepted their PFP offers

will withdraw from Sec 5 by the end of January.

• Being eligible to apply for the PFP does not guarantee a

successful placement into a PFP course.

For students who are only interested in the DPP:

• You should apply to the DPP in Dec.

• Students who have accepted their DPP offers in

December should not continue with Sec 5.

For students who are interested in both PFP and DPP:

� If you are certain that you do not want to continue with

Sec 5 and pursue the GCE O-Levels, you may apply for the DPP in December. Upon the release of the GCE O-Level

results in January, eligible students may apply for the PFP. If

you are offered and accept a PFP place, you may

withdraw from the DPP.

Alternatively,

� You may progress to Sec 5 first. Upon release of the GCE

O-Level results in January, you may then apply for the PFP

and DPP concurrently

c. N(A) students are on ‘an equal footing’ with N(T) students in ITE’s admission process.

� Nitec graduates with good GPA can apply for progression to the 1st or 2nd year of a relevant Higher Nitec course. Higher Nitec graduates with good GPA can apply for admission to the 1st/2nd year of a related diploma course at the polytechnics.

RESULT SLIP AMENDMENT

Check that your personal particulars (such as

statutory names and Hanyu Pinyin names) are

printed correctly on your result slip as the same

personal particulars will be printed on your

certificate.

Any request for amendments to students'

personal particulars after 30 Dec 2015 will incur

an administration charge of S$50 per certificate,

to be paid by students.
