Back ground Negligence towards the foot and poor

knowledge about footwear makes people present foot complications, resulting in amputations. Diabetics especially, suffering from neurological and circulation problems present with various foot problems. Pressure distribution is the main criteria where special orthotics can help. So this trail was made to accomadate new practices .

Inclusion criteria

Patients with high pressure areas Calluses in different pressure points

on foot Patients with neuropathy

(included after computerised foot scan and clinical examination)

methodology

Duration of Use-1st group 10 mm plastazote-6-8 weeks

Duration of use-2nd group cork and micro cellular polymers –6-8weeks

results

Patients computer foot scan was repeated Showed significant pressure relief

compared to previous scans Tests pre and post was done bare foot 4 patients there was no follow up because

of other medical reasons (plasto users) 1 patient droped out of study(plasto users) 49 patients showed similar improvements
