A 27,000-square-foot clubhouse, the Dave Middleton Golf Complex boasts private technologically ad-vanced Wi-Fi classrooms, study and teaching labs, an internship library, a fully equipped club repair room, a pro shop, public locker rooms and the Ren-egade Grill. The $7 million facility (for use by the Florida State Golf teams and PGM students only) is a two-building complex, which also includes a multi-directional driving range, a video analysis instruc-tional center with hitting bays for inclement weath-er, chipping and putting greens, as well as locker rooms, team lounge, auditorium and fi tness facility.

The golf course was renovated in 2004 with the reconstruction of all 18 greens, complexes, tee boxes and the state-of-the-art TiffEagle Turf was installed on all the putting surfaces. Each year the facility hosts over 60,000 rounds of golf. The golf course was recently recognized as one of the top 10 golf courses in the country by the National Golf Foundation for customer loyalty and satisfaction.

2014 SEASON PREVIEWWhen Amy Bond became the head coach of the Florida State women’s golf team in 2010, she immediately began working towards making the Seminoles one of the top programs in the country. She started building a program that would com-pete for ACC and national championships on an annual basis. She began planning for the future, coaching the players who would quickly become the foundation of her nationally renowned pro-gram and recruiting the players who would be the building blocks for the Seminoles’ return to top of the standings in the ACC and their return into the upper echelon of the national championship race.

“Our number one goal is to compete for cham-pionships,” said Bond. “At Florida State we have the support from our administration to do just that – be one of nation’s top programs. We have the facilities, the weather and a university so steeped in a golf tradition that if we collectively work together each day with our intended goals of success in mind, we will achieve those goals.”

Bond returns three seasoned veterans who helped lead Florida State to its eighth consecu-tive NCAA appearance in 2013 and welcomes one of the most talented four-player recruit-ing classes in school history to the team for her fourth season as the Seminoles’ head coach.

“We are really excited about this group of women,” said Bond. “We feel that we can put any combination of those eight women on the course and be successful. As we get into the spring season we need to have leaders emerge and a consistent group of the best fi ve players rise to the top for us to become one of the top teams in our conference. Because the competi-tion in the ACC is so strong and the teams are so good, as we move up into the ACC stand-ings, we will move up nationally. I fi rmly be-lieve that we will put the players on the course this year that will help us move toward the top of the ACC and into the top 25 in the nation.”

The Seminoles’ line-up will be anchored by a trio of juniors – Laure Castelain, Carlton Kuh-lo and Alex Milan – who all played as mem-bers of Florida State’s starting fi ve in the 2013 ACC Championship and NCAA West Regional Championship. The trio has played in a com-bined 46 career matches, fi ve ACC Champion-ships and four NCAA regional championships.

“We are going to rely heavily on our junior class to get our year started off well,” said Bond who has no seniors on her roster for the fi rst time in her coaching career. “All three players gained an incredible amount of experience last sea-son and all played well in the postseason last year. They have to be our backbone; they have to play well and bring the younger players along quickly for our team to play well early. Their collective abilities to lead our team from the fi rst day of practice in August will be vitally important to the overall success of our team.”

Castelain is Florida State’s most experienced golfer entering the season with 20 events played including two ACC Championships and two NCAA Regional Championships to her credit. She has earned two top-10 indi-vidual fi nishes, has fi nished as the Seminoles’ leader in four events during her career and fi n-ished in a career best tied for third place in the fall 2011 Susie Maxwell Berning Classic.

“The returning members of the team respect her a great deal and the newcomers will quickly learn that they can fi nd wisdom in what she says and how she works her way around the golf course.”

Kuhlo began to develop into a team leader with her performances in the 2013 postseason. She was a regular in the Seminoles’ starting line-up as a sophomore and earned back-to-back top-20 fi nishes in the Florida Challenge and the Florida State Match-Up to begin the spring season. Kuh-lo then played well in the ACC Championship with a score of 74 in the fi rst round in helping the Seminoles to a fourth place team fi nish and shot a 75 in the fi nal round of the West Regional Cham-pionship – her fi rst career NCAA appearance.

“Carlton showed us that her game is headed in the absolute right direction during the spring sea-son,” said Bond. She played a number of nice rounds late in the spring to help us qualify for the postseason and then played well at region-

als. We are expecting her game to continue to improve because of the drive to work hard that she showed us last spring. We want that drive to be successful to increase and Carlton knows she has to prove herself every day in practice.”

Milan had a great summer as she worked as hard as any player on the team to prepare for the upcoming season. She was successful on the collegiate tour within the state of Florida and showed through her play that she has a real desire to earn one of the open spots in the line-up. Milan has played in two career ACC Championships and played in her fi rst career NCAA Regional Championship as a sophomore.

“The experience that Alex gained last spring was as valuable to her as to any player on our team,” said Bond. “She helped lift our team in both the ACC Championships and the NCAA Regional Championships and those experienc-es helped boost her confi dence to an all-time high. Coupled with her strong summer, she will look to move back into the line-up this spring.”

Florida State begins the season with a large but talented group of fi ve freshmen who are all ex-pected to be impact players. The group is led by Lydia Gumm, who enrolled at Florida State in Jan-uary of 2013 and includes Anna Sophia Bohmer, Kayla Bloor, Matilda Castren and Sherrill Buckley.

All four players will have the opportunity to earn a position in the Seminoles’ line-up and all four have the ability to be dif-ference makers throughout their careers. Gumm gained valuable experience during the spring of 2013 as she not only acclimated herself to life as a college student but to life as a student-athlete. Her experiences during the spring of 2013 will allow her the opportunity to join the Seminoles’ starting line-up in the spring of 2014. Gumm is a seven-time All-State Girl’s Golf team honoree in the state of Kentucky and earned the Ms. Kentucky golf award a record fi ve times.

“Lydia graduated from high school early and practiced with our team during the spring of 2013,” said Bond. “She is a very talented play-er who has only started to reach her poten-tial. She gained valuable experience during the spring which in turn will equate to success dur-ing her freshman year. Her biggest strengths are her length and her ability to shoot low scores.”

2014 SEASON PREVIEW

Bohmer is a current member of the Colombian National Team. She went to high school in Or-lando, Fla., which allowed her to gain playing experience on many of the types of courses the Seminoles play on annually. She too, is a very experienced international golfer whose best golf is certainly ahead of her and she will improve as a golfer each time she steps onto the course.

“Anna has a lot of international experience and competes on the Columbian National Team,” said Bond. “She is a very talented player who will com-pete for lots of playing time. Not only is Anna a great golfer, but her personality and attitude is going to foster a sense of fun, compassion and team work. Her biggest strengths are her short game and her ability to get the ball in the hole.”

Bloor is a competitive golfer who is very comfort-able working her way around the golf course. She will be one of the Seminoles’ hardest workers from the time she steps on campus and is another golf-er who will have the immediate opportunity to be-come a member of the Seminoles’ starting line-up.

“Kayla had a very successful high school career and I am excited to watch her excel here at Florida State,” said Bond. “She has a good grasp of her golf game and knows what it takes to be success-ful. She works extremely hard and I look for her to compete for a starting position. Her biggest strengths are her length and her competitiveness.”

Probably the most experienced of the interna-tional players on the Seminoles’ roster, Castren will bring that experience to the Seminoles’ line-up in her fi rst season as a member of the team. She is from Finland where she has represented her country in the European Championships three times and has been a member of the Finn-ish National Team since 2009. Castren helped lead Finland to a second place fi nish at the Finn-ish Ladies Team Championship in 2012 and is the No. 1 ranked player in the Under 21 age group at the European Young Masters championship.

“Matilda comes to us with perhaps the most in-ternational experience of any player we have had in a while,” said Bond. “She is a member of the Finnish National Team and has numer-ous tournaments under her belt. She has been very successful in both the United States and worldwide. Matilda will come in and com-pete for one of our top spots. Her biggest strengths are her overall game and her mindset.”

With half of its roster new to collegiate golf, the Seminoles will rely on their experienced upper-classmen throughout the year. It was that group of three juniors that carried Florida State to its school record eighth-consecutive NCAA appearance in 2013. Florida State’s success will come quickly as the experienced players continue to improve and the newcomers adapt to playing as Seminoles.

Bond knows that she has eight strong play-ers who will all be productive for the Seminoles during the upcoming season.

“We have a great combination of players – both veteran and newcomers – they will allow us to have a very successful season,” said Bond. “We have to be willing to work from day one and work every day – even when we are not on the course. I really believe this can be a breakthrough year for us; we all have to want to improve every day and not put any limits on what we can do.”

Since being named the head coach at her alma ma-ter in 2010, Amy Bond has gone about build-ing a team that will consistently qualify for the NCAA Championship Tournament, compete for ACC and national championships and pro-duce All-ACC and All-American student-athletes.

In her fi rst three seasons at Florida State, the Semi-noles have played in three NCAA Champion-ships, produced the school’s fi rst NCAA Regional Champion (Maria Salinas in 2012), earned two All-American citations (Maria Salinas in 2011 and 2013), earned three All-ACC selections (Maria Sali-nas in 2011 and 2012 and Jessica Negron in 2013) and had nine players earn All-ACC Academic honors.

As the fi fth head coach in the history of the program, Bond’s commitment to success at Florida State has be-come a way of life. First as a player, then an assistant coach and now as its head coach, Bond’s energy and en-thusiasm for elevating and securing the tradition of the program is rivaled by few coaches in all of collegiate golf.

As a player she earned a spot on the ACC’s 50th Anni-versary team, as an assistant coach she helped the Semi-noles to three NCAA Tournament appearances and as the head coach, she has led Florida State to three NCAA Championship appearances in her fi rst three years.

Throughout her career at Florida State, she has played as one of the Seminoles top players (she was named Florida State’s team MVP in 1997, 1998 and 1999), played with a number of touring professionals (in-cluding two-time LPGA major winner Karen Stup-ples) and has coached many of Florida State’s recent greats including the only four-time golf All-American in school history (Caroline Westrup). While achiev-ing success during her career as a player and a coach, Bond has never lost sight of her ultimate goal: the success and achievements of her student-athletes.

In the fi rst eight seasons as a Seminole coach (fi ve as an assistant and three as the head coach), every stu-dent-athlete who has played golf at Florida State has earned her bachelor’s degree and every one played on at least two NCAA Tournament teams during their careers. The Seminoles are among the NCAA leaders with a perfect APR rating during the fi rst three sea-sons on Bond’s head coaching tenure at Florida State.

FIRST THREE YEARS AT FSUFlorida State head coach Amy Bond has now guided each of her fi rst three teams to the NCAA Tournament. Including her four years as a Seminole player (1996-99) and her fi ve years as a Seminole assistant coach (2002-06), Bond has participated in 10 of 12 NCAA Regional Championships while wearing the Garnet and Gold. The Seminoles have played a school record eight consecutive NCAA Championship Tournaments.

RETURNING HOME Amy Bond joined the long and illustrious list of Florida State alumni who have returned to their alma mater when she was named the Seminoles' head coach on June 25, 2010. She returned to her Seminole roots after an out-standing playing career at Florida State (1995-99) dur-

ing which she fi nished in 30th place in the 1999 NCAA Championship Finals and a fi ve-year career as an assistant coach (2001-06) when she helped lead the Seminoles to the NCAA Championships three times. Bond is one of four Florida State alumni who are current head coaches at Florida State joining Frank Bradley (Swimming ), Jen-nifer Hyde (women's tennis) and Mike Martin (baseball).

SUCCESS AT PRINCETON Bond was successful in her fi rst head coaching posi-tion at Princeton (2006-10) as she guided the Tigers to eight tournament victories and top four fi nishes in four Ivy League championship tournaments. The Tigers fi n-ished in second place in the Ivy league championship in 2007. Bond coached Susannah Aboff to consecutive Ivy League individual championships in 2008 and 2009 to mark only the third time in league history that a player had won consecutive individual conference champion-ships. Aboff earned All-Ivy League honors three times during her career becoming just the second player in school history to be named to the all-league team three times in her career. During her four seasons at Princ-eton, only the Tigers and Harvard performed consis-tently in the conference championship by fi nishing in the top four of the team championship from 2007-10.

RECRUITING SUCCESS AT PRINCETONDuring her four seasons at Princeton, Bond coached/recruited two players (Susannah Aboff and Kelly Shon) who qualifi ed to play in at least one NCAA Regional Championship each and fi ve players who earned All-Ivy League honors a total of 11 times. Aboff won

eight individual tournament championships during her career and fi nished in a tie for 23rd place at the NCAA East Regional Championship in 2009 - the third highest NCAA regional fi nish in school history. Shon played in the 2011 and 2012 US Women's Open and was ranked No. 4 nationally among junior golfers at the time she was recruited. She is still the highest ranked junior recruit to ever attend an Ivy League in-stitution. Shon earned All-American Honorable Men-tion Honors from the Women’s Golf Coaches’ Associa-tion in 2013, played in the 2013 NCAA East Regional Championship, was named the Ivy League Golfer of the Year and won Ivy League Championship in 2013

RECRUITING SUCCESS AT FSUIn fi ve years as an assistant coach at Florida State, Bond

helped recruit four players who earned All-ACC hon-ors a total of eight times and formed the nucleus of two top 20 ranked teams. The Seminoles fi nished in a tie for 16th nationally in 2006 and in a tie for 19th na-tionally in 2004. She was also instrumental in recruit-ing Caroline Westrup - the only four-time All-American and four time All-ACC selection in school history.

PROFESSIONAL PLAYERS Bond has recruited and coached seven players who have played, or who are currently playing professional golf. She recruited and coached Kristin Tamulis (Flor-ida State) who is currently playing on the LPGA Tour. She also recruited and coached four-time All-American Caroline Westrup (Florida State) who is currently play-ing on the LPGA Tour (and who played in the 2013 U.S. Open), a second who is also playing on the LPGA Tour (Lacey Agnew), two players (Jaclyn Burch and Macarena Silva) who are currently playing on the Fu-tures Tour and two players (Susannah Aboff, Marlowe Boukis and Michelle Grilli) who began their profes-sional careers on the LPGA Futures Tour and Maria Salinas who is currently playing on the European Tour.

SEMINOLES AT THE 2013 U.S. OPENBond and the Seminoles were well represented at the 2013 U.S. Women’s Open at Sebonack Golf Club with four of the top players in the history of the program – Karen Stupples, Kristin Tamulis, Macarena Silva and Caroline Westrup – all playing in the event. Prior to the event, Bond said of the one of the greats foursomes in program history: “This is a great week for each of

To have four of our players in the U.S. Open in the same year is exciting and illustrates the rich tra-dition of our program. I am very happy for Karen, who I have known for so many years and for Kris, Maca and Caroline who I had the good fortune of coaching during their careers at Florida State. Playing in the U.S. Open is an awesome accomplishment for all of them and I couldn’t be happier for all of them.”

BOND ON THE NATIONAL SCENEBond is the president of the Women’s Golf Coaches Association Board of Directors; she was elevated to the position at the 2013 NCAA Women’s Golf Convention While the the vice president of the organization, she had the honor of announcing Seminole senior Maria Salinas as an All-American at the 2013 NGCA Honors Banquet. Bond has risen steadily through the ranks of the national governing board after serving the organiza-tion as its treasurer. Bond began on the NGCA Board as its treasurer (2009-12), is currently its vice president (2012-14) and will serve as its president during a two-year term beginning in 2014. The NGCA was formed in 1983 as an organization to promote participation in women's collegiate golf. The vision of NGCA since its inception has been to encourage the playing of intercollegiate golf for women in correlation with a general objective of education and in accordance with the highest tradition of intercollegiate competition.

Matt Savage, who helped coach both the Seminole men’s and women’s golf teams into the NCAA Champi-onship Tournaments in 2013, is in his second season as an assistant coach with both programs at Florida State. Savage plays an integral role in the continued success of the Seminoles as he works with each of the play-ers on a daily basis while assisting with the day-to-day administrative responsibilities of each team. Savage works with both programs in the areas of skill develop-ment, recruiting, practice planning and match coaching.

Savage is uniquely qualifi ed to relate his experiences as both an accomplished player on the collegiate level and as a professional golfer to teach the game of golf to the next generation of Seminole golfers.

In 2013, Savage helped the Seminole men to their third appearance in the NCAA Championship Finals in the last four seasons where they fi nished in a tie for 11th place in the team standings. The Seminoles fi nished in third place in the NCAA Tallahassee Regional and in second place in the ACC Championship after winning tournament championships during the regular season.

In his fi rst season as an assistant coach with the Flor-ida State women’s team, he helped lead the Seminoles to their school record eighth consecutive NCAA Championships appearance and a fourth place fi n-ish in the ACC Championships. Because of his in-credible success as a Florida State player and as a professional golfer, Savage was accepted quickly by the current Seminole golfers and took on a leader-ship role in only his fi rst season as an assistant coach.

Savage is considered to be one of the top golfers in Seminole history. He earned All-America honors in 2007, was the fi rst player in school history to earn All-ACC honors three times, played on one NCAA Cham-pionship fi nal and four NCAA Regional Championship teams and led the Seminoles to the fi rst ACC Cham-pionship in school history in 2008. Savage closed his career in 2009 with a 73.09 scoring average in 44 career tournaments – the fi fth best average in school history.

Among Savage’s greatest attributes is his ability to com-municate with players and coaches alike and concisely teach the sport of golf to the Seminoles’ student-athletes.

Because of his recent experiences as a player and now as a coach, Savage’s ability to relate to today’s collegiate golfer allows him to expect the unexpected while creating long term plans and effectively teaching them on a daily basis.

Savage was one of the building blocks of the Seminole men’s program under Director of Golf Trey Jones from 2006 through his graduation from Florida State in 2009. The Seminoles were nationally ranked during each of his four seasons and fi nished the 2008 season ranked 11th after winning the ACC Championship for the fi rst time in school history. The Seminoles were ranked as high as No. 7 nationally and earned a No. 3 seed in the NCAA West Regional Championship in 2008.

Savage began his professional career on the NGA Hoot-ers Tour soon after his graduation from Florida State and enjoyed three prosperous years on golf ’s third largest tour. He won his fi rst event as a professional – the 2009 Kentucky Open – and was among the top money winners on the tour during his three seasons.

FIRST YEAR COACHING SUCCESSIn his fi rst season as an assistant coach with both the men’s and women’s teams at Florida State, Savage helped both teams to extremely successful seasons in 2012-13.

The Seminole men fi nished in a tie for 11th in the team standings in the NCAA Championship fi nals, in third place at the NCAA Tallahassee Regional Championship, in second place in the ACC Championship and with three tournament championships during the regular sea-son. The Seminole women played in the NCAA Cham-pionship for the school record eighth consecutive season and fi nished in fourth place in the ACC Championships.

INDIVIDUAL RECOGNITIONSavage helped coach two All-Americans – Daniel Berger and Chase Seiffert – the ACC Freshman of the Year and four All-ACC selections – three men and one woman – in his fi rst season as an assistant coach at Florida State. Daniel Berger earned PING and Golf-Week All-American First Team Honors while Seiffert earned All-American Honorable Mention honors by GolfWeek. Berger, Seiffert and freshman Hank Leb-ioda all earned All-ACC Honors with Lebioda earn-ing ACC Freshman of the Year honors. Jessica Ne-gron earned All-ACC and All-West Region honors.

NATIONAL SUCCESSSavage earned medalist honors at the 2008 North and South Amateur Championship at Pinehu-rst, advanced to the quarterfi nals of the 2006

U.S. Amateur Public Link Championship and played in the 2006 U.S. Amateur Championship.

2008 ACC CHAMPIONSHIPSavage led Florida State to its fi rst ever Atlantic Coast Conference Championship on April 20, 2008 as the Sem-inoles defeated Duke by three strokes at the 55th An-nual ACC Championship at the Old North State Club at Uwharrie Point. The Seminoles defeated the Blue Devils by four strokes in the third round as they rallied from a one stroke defi cit after two rounds to claim the school's fi rst ever ACC championship in the sport of golf. Each of the fi ve team members contributed to the victory as the Seminoles closed the 54-hole tournament with four players under par and only one at over par. Savage led the way with an eight-under par 208 score and fi n-ished in a tie for third place in the individual standings.

TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPSIn addition to leading the Seminoles to the fi rst ACC Championship in school history in 2008, Savage helped Florida State to four tournament champion-ships during his career: the Inverness Intercolle-giate (Fall 2007), the Seminole Intercollegiate (Spring

2008), the ACC Championship (Spring 2008) and the Florida State Spring Break Invitational (Spring 2009).

ALL-AMERICAN HONORSSavage earned regional All-American honors in both 2008 and 2009 and earned All-American Honorable Mention honors from the Golf Coaches’ Association of America in 2007. He was named to the PING / All-Southeast Regional All-American team in 2008 as he led the Seminoles to the ACC Championship and was named to the Ping / Southeast Regional All-American team in 2009 as he led Florida State to an appearance in the 2009 East Regional Championships. Savage earned Ping / Division I All-America Honorable Mention Honors as a sophomore after fi nishing in ninth place in the individual standings at the NCAA Championship Fi-nals and earning 11 top 25 fi nishes in 12 events in 2007.

SCHOOL RECORD SCORESavage carded a school record 63 in the second round of the 2009 Florida State Spring Break Invitational. His nine under par score of 63, coupled with a 69 in the fi rst round, allowed Savage to win the individual cham-pionship and helped the Seminoles to the team champi-onship in the event. Savage’s score of 63 allowed him to win the fi rst individual championship of his career.

PREP STARSavage won the individual state championship, led his team to the state title, was named Mr. Golf in the State of Kentucky and earned National Player of the Year honors by the National High School Golf Coaches Association as a senior at St. Xavier Prep in Louisville in 2005. Savage earned All-America hon-ors from the AJGA as both a junior and a senior, was a four-time All-State First Team honoree and played in the US Publinks Championship in 2005.

ACADEMIC SUCCESSSavage was an academic standout during his collegiate career at Florida State as he was named to the ACC Aca-demic Honor Roll in 2006, 2007 and 2009 and earned his degree in communication studies in 2009. He is oneof only three players to earn All-Academic honors at least three times under Seminole men’s coach Trey Jones.

Robert Duck’s diverse and successful career in the sport of golf – on the collegiate and professional levels – and his fantastic ability to relate his experiences as a coach and a teacher, are attributes that serve him well as a member of the Florida State golf coaching staff.

In his third season as an assistant coach with both the Seminoles’ men’s and women’s programs, Duck has helped continue Florida State’s tradition of NCAA ap-pearances, All-Americans and All-ACC performers dur-ing his tenure. He works with both programs at Florida State in the areas of player development, recruiting and daily team and individual coaching responsibilities.

Duck has helped coach both programs into the NCAA Tournament while working with All-Amer-icans and All-ACC honorees on both teams. In his fi rst two seasons at Florida State, the men have pro-duced two All-Americans, fi ve All-ACC selections, one ACC Golfer of the Year and one ACC Fresh-man of the Year while the women have produced one All-American and two All-ACC performers.

During his fi rst two seasons, the Seminole men and the Seminole women have appeared in the NCAA Tourna-ment twice each with the men fi nishing in ninth in the team standings in the 2012 NCAA Championship fi nals and tied for 11th in the 2013 NCAA Championship fi nals. In addition, neither team has fi nished outside of the top four in the ACC Championships as the men have fi nished in second and third and the women have earned two fourth place fi nishes with Duck as a an assistant coach.

Duck’s work with Florida State’s players has led to in-credible individual success in his fi rst two seasons in Tallahassee. His teaching abilities and coaching philoso-phies have helped accelerate the careers of two of the top men’s players in school history – Brooks Koepka and Daniel Berger – as well as two of the top perform-ers on the women’s team – Maria Salinas and Jessica Negron. Koepka was named the ACC Golfer of the Year in 2012 and was a three-time All-ACC selection while Berger earned All-ACC honors and played for the United States’ Palmer Cup team in 2013. Salinas fi nished in second place in the NCAA Central Re-gional and earned All-American honors in 2012 while Negron earned All-ACC honors and fi nished with one of the lowest stroke averages in school history in 2013.

Duck has helped coach the Florida State men to fi ve tournament championships in his fi rst two seasons. The Seminoles earned tournament championships at the 2012 Seminole Intercollegiate, the 2012 FAU Spring Break Invitational, the 2013 Gator Invitational, the 2013 Seminole Intercollegiate and the 2013 Gary Koch Intercollegiate. He has helped the Seminole women advance to the 2012 NCAA Central Regional and 2013 NCAA West Regional Championships.

The Seminoles – both the men and the women – were ranked among the nation’s top 25 teams through-out his fi rst season at Florida State. The men were ranked as high as No. 13 while the women were ranked as high as No. 22 nationally in 2012. The men fi nished the 2013 season ranked No. 12 nationally.

COACHING EXPERIENCEDuck, one of the rising stars in collegiate coaching, is in his third season as an assistant coach at Florida State. He was the acting head coach at Augusta State in 2002, served the Jaguars as a volunteer assistant coach during the 2001-02 season and was an assistant coach

for the program during the 2002-03 season. Dur-ing his tenure as the acting coach at Augusta State, the Jaguars were ranked as high as No. 9 nationally.

COLLEGIATE PLAYING EXPERIENCEDuck enjoyed a standout career at Augusta State (1998-01) where he earned All-America honors as a sophomore (1999) and led the Jaguars to three NCAA Championship appearances (1998, 1999, 2001). He is one of the top golfers in the storied history of the Augusta State program and remains listed prominent-ly in the record book nearly 15 years after his playing career ended. Duck is ranked second in school his-tory for lowest stroke average by a freshman (73.22) (which stood as the school record for nearly 15 years). It is an average that still ranks in the top 15 in school history. His career stroke average of 73.86 is ranked 14th in school history. During his career he earned 12 top 10 and 28 top 20 individual fi nishes.

COLLEGIATE COACHING EXPERIENCEDuck’s ability to communicate with the players he coaches is illustrated by the success those players have earned on the golf course. In only two years at Florida State he has worked with three All-Americans, fi ve All-ACC honorees, one ACC Golfer of the Year and one ACC Freshman of the Year. Each of the four teams (two men’s and two women’s) he has helped coach at Florida State has played in the NCAA Tournament and both teams have been ranked in the nation’s top 25 during the fi rst two years of his tenure in Tallahassee.

ON COURSE COACHINGBecause he has played and coached at such a high level, Duck has quickly become known as a players’ coach. His ability to help each student-athletes create long-term training schedules and encourage them to work towards those goals on a daily basis has helped create a teach-ing environment that has fostered the recent successes of both the Seminoles’ men’s and women’s programs.

NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP HISTORY Duck led Augusta State to three NCAA Champion-ship tournament appearances and helped the Jaguars to a seventh place fi nish as a senior. The seventh place fi nish was the best in program history at the time. With the foundation put in place by Duck and his teammates, the Jaguars won the NCAA Titles in 2010 and 2011.

SUCCESS IN PROFESSIONAL WORLDDuck enjoyed a successful career as a manager of pro-fessional golfers for the Hambric Sports Group (2003-2012) before accepting his current assistant coaching position at Florida State. Based in London, Duck was the supervisor of the European Division of Hambric Stellar Golf. He was a player manager who oversaw public relations and marketing for seven clients includ-ing 1988 Masters champion Sandy Lyle, 2005 European Tour Rookie of the Year Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano, former Augusta State All-American Oliver Wilson and Francesco Molinari.

PERSONALDuck is married to the former Michelle Digsby. He earned his bachelor's degree in marketing from Augusta State in 2001. A native of Northampton, England, he represented Great Britain-Ireland as a member of the 1998 Palmer Cup team. Duck played in the 1997 Eu-ropean Amateur Championship and fi nished tied as the runner-up with Sergio Garcia and Luke Donald.

director of golf trey jones

Top national fi nishes, All-Americans, professional suc-cess and academic achievement have become synony-mous with the Florida State men’s golf program un-der Trey Jones. Now in his 11th season as the head men’s coach and Director of Golf for the Seminoles’ men’s and women’s golf programs, Jones has lifted the sport of golf at Florida State to new heights.

Under his direction, there is no limit on how high the Seminole programs will go

Jones is responsible for attracting nationally ranked re-cruiting classes, upgrading the Seminoles' schedule to where it is ranked among the nation’s toughest on an annual basis and creating one of the most functional player development facilities in all of college golf on one of the Seminoles' fi ve home golf courses. Jones continues annually to build on the Seminoles' suc-cess in developing the nation's top talent into national contenders and collegiate golf's elite players. Named the 2008 Atlantic Coast Conference Coach of the Year as he led the Seminoles to the fi rst conference championship in the sport of golf in school history, Jones is no stranger to competing with the nation's best in one of the top conferences for college golf.

Building championship teams and elevating those teams onto the national stage is nothing new to Jones who has earned four conference coach of the year awards and led 12 of his 17 teams at the Division I level to the NCAA Championship tournament. His teams consistently hold prominent places in the na-tional rankings, are adept at winning conference cham-pionships and are annually among the top produc-ers of All-American and all-conference performers.

Jones has become one of the winningest coaches in school history in his fi rst ten years in Florida State. He is the only coach in school history to lead the Seminoles to eight NCAA Tournament appearances (no other coach has led Florida State to more than fi ve appearances) and he is ranked fi rst in school history with 12 tournament championships (second is nine by Don Veller). The Sem-inoles have appeared in a school record eight consecu-tive NCAA Tournaments entering the 2013-14 season.

2013 NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPFlorida State fi nished in 11th place at the 2013 NCAA Championship Finals at the Capital City Club Crabapple in Atlanta, Ga. The Seminoles are just one of two teams to fi nish in the top 11 of the NCAAs in three or the last four years. Sopho-more Daniel Berger led the team at the Champion-ships fi nishing tied for second with a 6-under 204.

2012 NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPFlorida State earned an eighth place national fi nish at the 2012 NCAA Championship Finals to mark the second time in the last three seasons the Seminoles fi n-ished in the top eight of the standings at the national tournament. The Seminoles entered the championship ranked No. 19 in the nation by GolfStat and fi nished as one of only two teams ranked outside of the top eight to fi nish in the top eight of the fi nal standings.

2010 NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPFlorida State fi nished in a tie for third place at the 2010

NCAA Championship Finals to earn the best national fi nish in school history. The Seminoles fell to Augusta State (the 2010 National Champion) in the semifi nals of the championship tournament after defeating Texas Tech in the fi rst round of match play. The Seminoles led the stroke play portion of the tournament and fi nished in second place to earn the No. 2 seed in the match play portion of the event. The third place fi nish at the NCAA Championship marked the best fi nish in school history - one better than the Seminoles fourth place national fi nish in 1957 and tied for fourth place fi nish in 1958.

2008 ACC CHAMPIONSHIPFlorida State, which was led by All-Americans Jonas Blixt and Matt Savage, won its fi rst ever Atlantic Coast Confer-ence championship as it defeated Duke by three strokes at the 2008 ACC Championship at the Old North State Club at Uwharrie Point. The Seminoles defeated Duke as they rallied from a one stroke defi cit after two rounds to claim the school's fi rst ever ACC championship in the sport of golf. Each of the fi ve team members contrib-uted to the victory as the Seminoles closed the 54-hole

tournament with four players under par. Blixt and Sav-age led the way with eight-under par 208 scores as they both fi nished in a tie for third in the individual standings.

RECRUITINGKnown as one of the nation’s most dynamic recruit-ers, Jones is nationally recognized as one of the top talent scouts in all of collegiate golf. His abil-ity to recruit talented players, which in turn helps him build solid teams, is one of the aspects of coaching that has made Jones a top Division I coach. Florida State's recruiting class ranked fourth best in the na-tion in 2007, fi fth best in 2008, sixth best in 2005 and among the nation's top 15 in 2006, 2010 and 2012.

BROOKS KOEPKAJones coached Brooks Koepka – the school record holder for lowest stroke average in a single season (71.09) and for a career (71.85) – the ACC Golfer of the Year in 2010 and 2012 and a three-time All-ACC selection. Koepka was named the ACC Golfer of the Year twice, the ACC Rookie of the Year in 2009 and earned All-American twice in his career in leading the Seminoles to four consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances and two top-10 NCAA Championship Finals fi nishes. As a senior, Koepka tied the school record with a nine under par score of 63 in the third

round of the FAU Spring Break Invitational and set the school record with his 199 total for three rounds of the event. Koepka won three events as a senior – at the Brickyard Collegiate Championship, the Semi-nole Intercollegiate, the FAU Spring Break Invitational.

JONAS BLIXTJones coached one of Florida State's all-time best players - Jonas Blixt - to All-American honors and the fi rst individual ACC Championship in school his-tory. Blixt earned Ping/Division I All-American First Team honors in 2008 and Ping/Division I All-Amer-ican second team honors in 2007. He is one of only three players in school history to earn All-American First and Second Team honors during his career. Blixt won the ACC individual championship in 2007 to be-come the fi rst Seminole to win ACC medalist honors. He helped lead Florida State to the 2008 ACC Cham-pionship - the fi rst ACC golf championship in school history - and earned All-ACC honors twice during his career. Blixt is currently playing on the PGA Tour.

JONES NATIONALLYJones has been an active member of the Golf Coaches Association of America since 1993. He is currently a member of the steering committee for the Collegiate Golf Hall of Fame. Jones served the board as the Divi-sion I Director for the East Region and served as the chair of the District 3 South Regional NCAA Selection Committee. He was also a representative in the District 3 South NCAA Selection Committee from 1999-2002.

PERSONALJones is married to the former Cathy McVeigh, who is the coordinator of fi nancial aid for student-athletes at Florida State. They are the proud parents of a daugh-ter, Jordan (12) and a son, Drew (8). Jones earned his bachelor's degree in health and physical education with a minor in business administration from North Ala-bama in 1991. Jones is a 22-year veteran of the colle-giate coaching ranks. He was the head men's coach and Director of Golf Operations at Georgia State for eight years (1996-2003) before becoming only the fi fth coach in the history of the Seminole program in 2004. Jones developed his teaching, coaching and recruiting philosophies as he helped hone those programs into national contenders.

The program has been developed to help spread awareness of juvenile diabetes. The pediatric team at the Diabetes Center at TMH works alongside children in the Big Bend com-munities and supports the program in local and regional school systems. Through the program, children learn about the disease and ways to develop a healthy lifestyle.

The Tee Off For Tots Golf Tournament, held annually at Golden Eagle Country Club, helps make the program successful. Funds generated from the tournament go directly into the program and is one largest fund rais-ing activities sponsored by the foundation each year.

The Tee It Off For Tots Golf Tournament is part of the Paint it Pink campaign sponsored by the women’s athletics teams at Florida State University. The Paint it Pink campaign helps spread breast cancer aware-ness. During this campaign, the women’s sports teams show their support for the cause by wearing pink during a specially chosen event during their sea-sons. The proceeds generated from the ‘pink” games are donated to the Sharon Ewing Walker Breast Health Center at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.

The Paint it Pink program at Florida State has do-nated more than $43,000 to the campaign since 2009. Funds are raised at each event and online auctions on seminoles.com further the success of the program as the proceeds from the game-worn uniforms and memorabilia are donated directly to the campaign.

The award is presented each year at the Golden 'Nole Banquet – one of the most important banquets of the year for all of Florida State’s student athletes.

The Athletic Director's Cup for Service began dur-ing the 1996-1997 academic year in order to pro-mote community service participation among all teams. The annual award recognizes the thousands of hours of community service Florida State student-athletes donate each year. Seminole student-athletes logged more than 4,300 community service hours in 2013 - an increase of 500 hours from last year. The women's golf team combined for 371.5 to-tal hours of community service for an av-erage of 33.8 hours per team member.

The members of the women's golf team donated their time to the Dick Howser Center, Refugee House of Tallahassee, mentoring and tutoring at Godby High School and to the YES Clinic at the 2002 ACC Women's Soccer Tournament held in Tallahassee.

"Winning the cup is important to us as a team and as people as well, said head coach Amy Bond.

The women's golf team donates much of its time to the Dick Howser Center for Childhood Services in Talla-hassee every Friday during the school year. The organi-zation in named for late Dick Howser, former Seminole head baseball coach and manager of the New York Yan-kees and Kansas City Royals. The center is a charitable organization that receives monetary support from the citizens of Tallahassee and its surrounding communities.

"Community service is an important part of our lives as student-athletes at Florida State," said junior Alex Mi-lan. "We enjoy participating in the community service activities we are involved in. It's a part of what we do as members of the women's golf team at Florida State."

It is the mark of true excellence in any endeavor.

However, in today’s intercollegiate athletics, competition has become so balanced and so competitive that it is vir-tually impossible to maintain a high level of consistency.

Yet the Atlantic Coast Conference has defi ed the odds. Now in its 61st year of competition, the ACC has long enjoyed the reputation as one of the strongest and most competitive intercollegiate conferences in the nation. And that is not mere conjecture, the numbers support it.

In women’s golf, Duke is second in all-time NCAA championships with its fi ve titles (1999, 2002, 2005, 2006 and 2007), only trailing Arizona State’s seven. Mi-ami claimed one NCAA national title in 1984, before joining the ACC. Duke is tied with Southern California for third in NCAA individual champions, claiming three national medalists - Candy Hannemann (2001), Virada Nirapathpongporn (2002), and Anna Grzebien (2005).

The ACC currently has 12 teams competing in women’s golf with the newest additions being Miami, (2004), Boston College, (2005) and Notre Dame (2013).

The conference recognized women’s golf as a con-ference sport in 1984-1986 when a minimum of four teams (Duke, North Carolina, NC State and Wake For-est) competed. After a fi ve-year hiatus, women’s golf became a sponsored sport once again in 1992 with Duke, Florida State, North Carolina and Wake Forest competing. Maryland joined the ranks during the 2000 season, while NC State joined the following year (2001).

Duke has won 18 ACC championships, followed by Wake Forest (5) and North Carolina (1). Duke leads the schools in ACC individual championships with 14, followed by Wake Forest (6) and North Carolina (2).

Eight of the 12 women’s golf teams (Duke, Florida State, Miami, Notre Dame, North Caro-lina, NC State, Virginia and Wake Forest) were represented at the NCAA Regionals in 2013. The 10 schools that will carry the ACC banner this sea-son have produced 72 fi rst or second team All-Amer-icans, fi ve National Player of the Years, four NGCA Division I Player of the Years, three national Fresh-man of the Years, and six National Coach of the Years.
