The AP Degree Programme in Advanced Computer Studies is an all-roundIT Programme, where a very narrow technical IT perspective is not sufcient.Experience shows that you need not be a computer reak to do well in theprogramme. You just have to be interested in working with IT and be ableto put IT applications into a broad business perspective. Ole Kolling

Residence permit and entryinformation for European (EU/EEA)students

International students rom countries inScandinavia and the EU/EEA should

apply or their EU/EEA residencecertiicate (residence permit) uponarrival in Denmark. Application or theresidence certiicate must be submittedto the regional state administration (inDanish: Statsorvaltningen).

    (in Roskilde)Statsorvaltningen SjllandAdelingskontoret RoskildeAlgade 12, 3DK- 4000 Roskilde

Further inormation may be oundon the website o the regional stateadministrationwww.statsorvaltning.dkor alternatively on the website othe Danish Immigration Service,www.nyidanmark.dk/en-us.

WorkStudents at higher educationalprogrammes are normally allowed towork 15 hours a week ater schoolhours (ull-time work during the summerholiday). The salary or student jobs is

    approximately DKK 80-100 per hour.

We strongly advise internationalstudents not to apply or studies inDenmark i they must rely 100 per centon the money they can earn in a part-time job. Living costs in Denmark are sohigh that it will be very diicult to live iyou dont have inancial support romyour home/amily.

The College cannot assist students ininding part-time work. Nor can we beresponsible or or guarantee that astudent can ind a part-time job. Ingeneral, part-time jobs that are relevantto the studies are not easy to ind.Students oten get work in the serviceindustry, e.g. at hotels, in cleaning or

delivering newspapers, etc. You mustpay income tax on the income earned inDenmark, approximately 40 per cent.

AccommodationFinding a cheap place to live is diicult

and normally takes time. RoskildeBusiness College has no residential/accommodation acilities and, inprinciple, students have to make theirown arrangements with regard to boardand lodging. Normally we are able toassist students once and once only so that accommodation or a period o3 6 months will be available on arrivalin Roskilde, Denmark. During that periodyou will have to ind more permanentaccommodation yoursel. There are anumber o student halls o residence, and international students are eligibleor rooms on equal terms with Danishstudents. However, there is a shortage, creating waiting lists o up to sixmonths. So private accommondationcould be an alternative.

In general, accommodation in Denmarkis expensive up to 400-500 eurosa month. Below you ind variousaccommodation options and theirapproximate price:

    room in a residence hall

    (a kollegium in Danish),price 240-400 euros/month

    room in a private amily home,price 200-500 euros/month.

apartment or rent either on anindividual basis or together with otherstudents, prices vary considerably.
