Can you believe it’s March already? Man is the time flying by. If you
couldn’t make the Winter Workshop in Fayetteville you missed a great
time and a very well-run workshop. The FASA Crowd did a great job.
During the business meeting a vote was taken and beginning in 2015 the
Winter Workshop will be combined with Mid-Winter SOS. This will
make it a little easier on the smaller clubs.
Spring SOS is just around the corner. We will participate again this year
in the Large Multi-Club Party at Pirate’s Cove. The event is April 18th
from 1PM-5PM. Please mark your calendars and plan on attending. There
will be Food and Pitchers of libation, not to forget fellowship and
dancing.
The Sugarfoot Board has voted to change Memorial Madness to May Madness and bring it back to Goldsboro.
We will have our event May 18th at the Elks Club. By having the events the week before Memorial Week-end
we hope to have everyone attend. It is one of our Primary Fund Raisers for the year. Part of the proceeds will
go for our selected local charities. You will be receiving tickets by mail to sell for the fund raising portion. Please
make a serious effort to sell as many tickets as possible to make this year’s event a successful one. We need all
your help.
Also please remember all our local opportunities to dance. Every 1st and 3rd Friday at the Elk’s Lodge thanks to
Mike ―Shagdaddy ― Overman. There is also a Steak Supper every Last Friday of the Month at the Elk’s Lodge. A
very good steak dinner cooked to your specification with dancing afterwards.
Loafers in Raleigh is at a new location and as many opportunities. For more details go to
www.loafersbeachclub.com or call 919-743-5332. And a new venue has opened in the location they left. It is
Red’s Beach Club. Red Hughes plans to be open 7 days a week. For more details on each go to http://
redsbeachmusic.net or call 919-876-REDS. This means extra possibilities for all of us.
Again, Thank You for your support- Enjoy life and Dance a lot, Terry

Diner at Cozumel Mexico
Sugarfoot Shag Club Members Enjoy a Cruise with the
Hol iday Band to Grand Cayman and Cozumel Mexico
Cruisin’ to Mexico January 26 – 31
Seeking sunshine and warmer weather, six Sugarfoot-
ers can say they found it in Mexico. Sailing aboard a
Carnival cruise ship, Paradise, in the western Caribbe-
an, Shirley, Larry, Steve, Susan, Jerry and Marcella had a
great vacation. Sunshine, great food, relaxing and shag-
gin’ to the Carolina beach music of the Holiday Band
and --- oh yeah, being serenaded by Elvis --- and party-
ing with Rhonda McDaniel --- all added to make a fun
trip.
First stop: Grand Cayman Island! Jerry and Marcella
took a submarine tour of the coral reef. Ocean is
beautiful at 105 feet deep! Lunch at Margaritaville!
P.S. Girls, there are jewelry stores on every corner
Then cruisin’ on to Cozumel, Mexico, where we a had a great time touring the town and a nearby Mayan
village --- ask Jerry about the rug Marcella selected that turned out to be depiction of the Mayan Fertility
god or ask Susan about the hand-crafted dresses for little girls…. ask Shirley and Larry about the Tequila
Factory (how about that chocolate tequila!)…. ask Steve about the spicy Mexican food.
We want to encourage others to be adventurous and maybe on a future beach music cruise there will be
another group of Sugarfooters having a large time!
