Achievements and Activities� Prepared successful U.S. ITER exhibit for February American Association for the
Advancement of Science (AAAS) meeting. Reached thousands of scientists, media reps, students, and educators. Thanks to those who assisted from DOE, the IO, SRNL, and especially from PPPL (also helped staff exhibit).

� Provided video, images, and information to
Melissa Fuller, producer for the History
Channel's "Modern Marvels" series, before
her interview with Ned Sauthoff.
� Conducted four sessions of Cross-Cultural
Communications Training for USIPO and DOE staff.
� Worked with DOE and other communications
partners to handle significant number of media
inquiries related to USIPO budget.
� Conducted teleconference with
communications partners to discuss
handling of media inquiries, production
of promotional materials, communications plan, and other issues.
� Prepared feature article on DOE Associate Director of Fusion Energy Sciences Ray Fonck.

� Includes ITER section on PPPL web site, with info and links to International ITER and U.S. Contributions to ITER.
Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory
� Includes ITER on traveling poster-board at community
events. Next: April 26 in downtown Princeton at arts and community festival.
� Features articles/updates about ITER and ITER staff in PPPL newsletters.
� Includes SRNL participation in ITER on lab’s permanent display at Columbia, S.C., airport.
Savannah River National Laboratory
� Addresses ITER role in lab’s overview fact sheet and in presentations to visitors.
� Published article on ITER and the SRNL role in laboratory’s annual magazine.
� Includes ITER brochure in info packages; discusses ITER during tours, exhibits, and news interviews. Includes ITER section in PPPL DVD “Fueling the Future.”

Upcoming U.S. ITER Communications Activities
� Article being prepared on low-cost, high-performance cast stainless steel developed by ORNL staff for use in ITER shield module.
� Plan to publish U.S. ITER Communications Plan in late
spring or summer 2008. Updated to include revisions
from DOE Office of Science and partner labs; now
undergoing final management review.
� History Channel “Modern Marvels” program featuring Ned Sauthoff and other ORNL scientists scheduled to air in June. (Working title: “Super Hot”).
