Presentation Xantar is the unique international fair about gastronomic tourism with the “International Trade Fair” official stamp in Spain. During 21 editions, Xantar has been valuing the quality agricultural products, the professional elaboration and service. It has become a point of reference to the most important eno-gastronomic destinies of Spain and Portugal. This also attracts other international destinies, mainly from Latin America, to participate in the fair. This internationalization has made to grow up cooperation networks about sustainable and healthy gastronomy and tourism. This tradeshow products experience links among exhibitors and visitors, through different actions and activities, such as show-cookings, thematic tastings, expositions… during five days of great activity. Talking about Galicia, Xantar is the first step in the year for the 300 gastronomic shows and fairs all around the region, some of these with the stamp of national or international touristic recognition. Other of the objectives of Xantar is the stimulation and promotion of rural counties and regions through tourism and eno-gastronomy, promoting innovative products with great quality and sustainability.

Restaurant business There will be fifteen complete restaurants, where public can eat and drink, tasting different native menus, made with products with appellation of origin.
Touristic-Gastronomic promotion There will be a space in the fair to promote the touristic and cultural aspects of the eno-gastronomic destinies. Saint James Way and Carnival will have a special place.
Sponsors Entities and companies which support this event have an special place in the center of the fair, to show their products and services.
Gourmet products The exhibitors offer the option to buy gourmet processed food products, which usually can only be bought in their original places.

A window open to the world Guess countries and regions El main objective of Xantar is to promote the quality gastronomy and to place it as one of the main touristic resources. For that, each year, you can see, in Xantar, the offer of different regions of the Iberian Peninsula, with the title of “Guess region”. Extremadura, Castile Leon, Asturias, Cantabria and Andalucia, touristic regions of Portugal and inter-territorial associations, such as Macaronesia (Cabo Verde, Canary Islands, Azores and Madeira), are some of the guess regions in different editions of Xantar. Some of these regions have a restaurant in Xantar, where you can enjoy a gourmet sampling menu. They also promote their tourism, craftwork and traditions, so the visitors can know their characteristics and particular features.

Guess country Another figure of the fair is the Guess country, with a great acceptation among the public, and an important repercussion in the mass media. To be the guess country of Xantar means to be the central point of the promotion of the fair, starring all the promoting messages and other transversal actions of the fair. This supposes a great promotion for the guess country, from an event which has repercussion in a lot of general, gastronomic and touristic mass media. Brazil, Portugal, Panama, Costa Rica, Cuba, Peru, France, Argentina and Mexico have been Guess countries in different editions of the fair, promoting their touristic and gastronomic resources through: restaurants, promoting booths, tastings, show-cookings and folklore.

Book of Xantar
A book-magazine about the fair is edited in each edition of Xantar. This is a 100 pages complete guide to find all you can see in the fair (exhibitors list, fair plan, menus, program of activities and conferences, information about the guess country…). Beside this, you can find in the book additional information and opinion articles from prestigious touristic and gastronomic professionals.

¡Live the Xantar experience!
You can come on train Xantar has prepared a train package, to enjoy one complete day or a weekend, visiting Ourense on high speed AVANT train. It is offered to people from Coruña and Santiago. This package has a closed price that includes train ticket, guided visits to the city, transfers and lunch in one of the restaurants of the fair.
As a trade fair, Xantar, in collaboration with RENFE (the Spanish train company), offers to the attenders discount bonus to long way train tickets, to make easier the visit of people from other points of Spain. Enjoying Galicia To the 2021 edition, and with the collaboration of “Siente Galicia”, Xantar will offer a package tour, with which you can visit the fair and enjoy some of the touristic resources of Galicia. .

Promotion Xantar has a promotion program to promote the fair in different media (diary press, professional press, television, internet) and in events related to the sector (national and international gastronomic and touristic fairs). In the last editions, several radio and television programs have been directly broadcasted from the fair, and several live links-up with news and entertainment programs have been made. So, news from Xantar have been sent to millions of people.

The last edition
21st edition
From 5th to 9th of February 2020, it took place the 21st edition of Xantar. It was presented officially in FITUR (Madrid). This edition was used to reinforce the links with Portugal, through a great presence of exhibitors from that country, and to set new cooperative links with Latin America, with the attending of exhibitors from that continent. The 21st edition became a good window to show the products and cook of the regions that attend the fair to the visitors. El attraction of the fair to the public is registered in the satisfaction surveys: the 99% of visitors want to come back in the next edition. The 35% of the visitors are professional, and the 85% of the exhibitors will attend the next edition.
