• In August 2008, a driver took the decision to ignore his safe journey plan from Muscat to a rig site. After visiting the rig, instead of stopping at the rig camp he continued on at night and drove from Burhan to Lekhwair. He rolled the vehicle 41 km before Lekhwair and was thrown from the vehicle. He was not reported missing and he died in the desert alone. He was not found until the next morning by a passing driver.
