The researchers in this new study actually found quite significant benefits among 3- to 5-year-old children who received either a single strain or combination of probiotics twice a day for six months. However, if you find yourself strongly drawn to processed foods or rely on mostly cooked foods, as is commonplace in the United States, the balance of bacteria in your digestive tract will have a hard time staying optimal. Good Bacteria Fight the FluBy Dr. Mercola, August 15, 2009, mercola.com

Bacteria present naturally in your body and sometimes found in food could keep cold and flu viruses at bay. According to a study, young children who took such bacteria, known as probiotics, had fewer colds, needed fewer antibiotics, and missed fewer days of school. Researchers have already shown that probiotics can benefit those who are ill, and the bacteria are thought to boost the immune system’s response to invaders. For most of you reading this, cold and flu season is right around the corner, and with it will come the yearly push urging you to get a flu vaccine to stay healthy. are essential for: The proper development of your immune system ●Protection against over-growth of other ●

microorganisms that could cause diseaseDigestion of food and absorption of nutrients ●

The probiotics in your gut also play a role in helping numerous bodily functions, such as:

· Digesting and absorbing certain carbohydrates. ●· Producing vitamins, absorbing minerals and ●

eliminating toxins.Keeping bad bacteria under control. ●Preventing allergies. Friendly bacteria train your ●

immune system to distinguish between pathogens and non-harmful antigens, and to respond appropriately.

Providing vital support to your immune system. ● Beneficial bacteria have a lifelong, powerful effect on your gut’s immune system and your systemic immune system as well. Sugar is also an incredibly efficient fertilizer for growing bad bacteria and yeast in your gut, so if you indulge in a lot of it you’re fueling the bad bacteria rather than the good. Likewise, stress, pollution, and taking antibiotics can further upset the balance in a negative way.Since helpful bacteria are increasingly absent in most people’s diets, it is important to purposely include foods that contain live probiotic bacteria in your diet, or take a probiotic supplement -- especially since flu season is just around the corner. Here’s What You Need to Know to Avoid the Flu This Year Now is the time to start making healthy changes that will keep you virtually immune to cold and flu viruses. If you follow the tips I recommend, you can easily sail through each and every winter (and fall, spring and summer) without so much as a case of the sniffles.

Optimize your vitamin D levels. ●Vitamin D deficiency is the likely cause of seasonal flu viruses. Getting an optimal level of vitamin D will help you fight infections of all kinds. In fact, the largest study yet of the association between vitamin D and respiratory infections found people

with the lowest blood vitamin D levels reported having significantly more recent colds or cases of the flu.

Eat plenty of probiotic-rich fermented foods, or take ●a high-quality probiotic supplement to support your digestive and immune system health. [such as “Inner Garden Flora”]

Avoid or Limit Sugar. Sugar decreases the function ●of your immune system almost immediately and a strong immune system is key to fighting off viruses and other illness.

Get Enough Rest. Just like it becomes harder for you ●to get your daily tasks done if you’re tired, if your body is overly fatigued it will be harder for it to fight off cold and flu viruses.

Exercise. When you exercise, you increase your ●circulation and your blood flow throughout your body. The components of your immune system are also better circulated, which means your immune system has a better chance of finding an illness before it spreads.

Take a good source of animal based Omega-3 fats like ●Flaxseed Oil, which is crucial for maintaining health.

Wash Your Hands. Washing your hands will decrease ●your likelihood of spreading a virus to your nose, mouth or other people. Be sure you don’t use antibacterial soap for this -- antibacterial soaps are completely unnecessary, and they cause far more harm than good. Instead, identify a simple chemical-free soap that you can switch your family to. Also, be careful not to overdo it. Washing your hands

too much can actually remove much of the protective layer on your skin and increase your chances of acquiring an infection.

“I give it to all my animals when they are

a little sick” I just have to share with you what L-Salavarius has done for my dogs. I have a Chihuahua that ate some tainted shrimp someone threw in the bushes on a hot summer day where we were camping. My little dog became extremely ill. His stools were loose and black, and was sick to his stomach. The vet

said that he would probably pass away. So I opened up my refrigerator and got the L-Sal out and started giving it to him mixed with a little water in a syringe with no needle on it and squirted it in his mouth. I did 2 caps am. 2 at noon and 2 pm. and in a few days he was a lot better. Now it’s been 6 yrs since that day and hes one healthy and happy dog thanks to R-Garden. I recently got a Yellow Labrador puppy and it ate some tomato leaves or something poisonous outside and got diarrhea real bad and wasn’t eating. Again I opened my refrigerator and started the L-Sal 3 am 3 pm and bingo back to normal the next day. I also have given it to my horses. I gave one about 20 at one time for stomach bloating and it really helped. I give it to all my animals when they are a little sick. They love the taste and they bounce back sooner. My puppy can’t wait for me to give her some. So if this product can do this for my pets I know it’s helping me by taking it. Thanks again R-Garden, I couldn’t have done it by myself. – Debbie C., WA

Got A Cranky Colon? If you are like most people, you don’t discuss the frequency of your bowel movements with your doctor or anyone else. For some, a normal bowel movement may be once a day. For others, two to three times per week may be the norm. And, for some people, two to three bowel movements per day is not unusual. Bowel transit time is the length of time it takes for food to travel from the mouth to the anus. It varies from person to person and depends greatly on diet, amount of physical activity, and lifestyle. Generally, people with a diet high in fiber (vegetables, fruits, and whole grains) will experience shorter transit times and heavier, bulkier stools. The duration that food stays in your body can be a good indicator of your overall health. A bowel transit time of 12 to 24 hours is considered ideal. Many Americans experience transit times in the 48 to 96 hour range, which is too long. This can be caused by poor hydration (not drinking 8 to 10 glasses of water per day), not enough high-fiber foods in the diet, lack of exercise, and other causes (excess protein, pregnancy, structural abnormalities, or diseases). The longer waste products remain in the intestinal tract, the more likely toxic substances will irritate the colon and pass through the intestinal wall to be absorbed

into the bloodstream. In the bloodstream, these toxic substances then become a problem for the immune system to deal with. For most people without medical problems, just including additional pure water and dietary fiber in theirdaily diet can help improve transit time. Prolonged use of over-the-counter laxatives should be avoided as they can make the bowels lazy and dependent upon their use. Besides diet and lifestyle changes, there are naturalalternatives that can help speed up bowel transit time. These beneficial fibers, herbs, and spices as follows:

Anise ● contains anethole, a chemical found helpful for treating digestive problems and relieving toothaches.

Fennel ● is believed helpful for relieving indigestion, bloating, intestinal gas, and cramping. Fennel seed has been approved in Germany as a remedy for digestion problems.

Irish Moss ● acts as a bulking agent and seems to provide relief for indigestion, gastritis, and urinary infections.

Licorice ● is an herb that helps increase the ability of bowel contents to absorb moisture and diminishes intestinal inflammation by forming a compound that protects against irritants.

Oat Bran ● and Prunes are high in fiber and help clean the intestinal walls of impacted matter, help eliminate toxins, and help with the formation of larger, softer stools. Prunes have traditionally been used as a remedy to relieve constipation.

Parsley ● is an herb high in chlorophyll, which is helpful for diminishing intestinal odors and gas.

Rhubarb ● and Senna are two well-known herbs that contain sennosides. Sennosides are organic plant compounds which are helpful for alleviating constipation and increasing the peristaltic movements (wormlike wave motion) of the colon.

Bowel Toner is a powerful blend of 11 ingredients designed to help speed up bowel transit time in the intestinal tract. Lengthy bowel transit time is believed to be a contributor to bowel toxicity. Bowel Toner is not a probiotic or a laxative. It is an excellent alternative to over-the-counter laxatives, which

Attitude “The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness, or skill. It will make or break a company ... a church ... a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past. We cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude ... I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me, and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you ... we are in charge of our Attitudes. ” — Charles Swindoll

are often harsh and unpredictable and can upset the healthy balance in the intestines. Each vegetarian capsule contains a special combination of fiber (oat bran), bulking agents (prunes, Irish moss), herbs (licorice, parsley, senna, rhubarb), spices (fennel, anise), and an enzyme activation system.

The Thyroid System The thyroid is connected to the pituitary, hypothalamus, pineal, breast, ovaries (testes), uterus (prostate), and the adrenal glands by an interconnecting series of hormones. The thyroid is basically an organ that secretes hormones which have a profound effect upon all cells of the body. Growth, metabolism, temperature control, endometrium health, ovulation, heart rhythm and emotions are just a few areas influenced by the thyroid hormones. How do you know if the thyroid is not working up to par? There are a few medical tests that offer a small glimpse into the effectiveness of some functions of the thyroid, yet man’s viewpoint is extremely limited by his imperfect observation techniques. By consulting a medical or chiroproctic doctor and by doing some research on your own, you might be able to determine if there are some insufficiencies in your thyroid. Herbal/foods of the Thyroid System are chosen to feed not the thyroid alone, but to secondarily feed and encourage the reproductive organs, the pituitary, the pineal, and the hypothalamus parts of the brain, to all work together to reach a correct homeostasis (balance) of all the thyroid conneced systems.
