    Hafr Al-Batin is a Saudi Arabian cityin the Eastern Province and locatedin the Northeastern region, some 480km to the north of Riyadh. Phase 1,as part of a series of 3, of the water

The companys clients include SAUDIARAMCO, PetroRabigh, MARAFIQ,Al-Khafji Joint Operations, GACA,and other institutional entities.SETE Energy is an Associate Spon -sor of the Saudi Water & Power Fo -rum 2009.

The Ministry of Waterand Electricity has commissionedSaudi Designers Consultants andEngineers to design a water treat -ment plant to produce drinking waterfrom wells for Hafr Al-Batin City witha capacity of 20,000 m 3/day. Thepeak ow per phase has been xedat 413 m 3/sec (1487 m 3/h).

    The construction will be done bySaudi Al-Terais Trading, Industrial

    Contractors Ltd. The total value ofthe entire expansion contract will beUS$9.3 million.

    KWT Group, through their nationalrepresentative, Soroof Aqua Solu -tions (SAS) from Khobar, has beenselected as supplier for all 12 pen -stocks. KWT chose to submit itssuccessful 2008 design, the KSA-MD-RVS with non-rising stem, en -gineered to withstand a challenging20 mwc (2.0 bar) of operating waterpressure.

    The installation supervision will beperformed by SAS as part of their fullscope of supply.
