What is Midas/Gen?

MIDAS/Gen is a Windows‐based, general‐purpose structural analysis and optimal design system

MIDAS: the Most Intelligent Design & Analysis System

Gen :   General Structural Design System

Midas/Gen has been used for over 10 years and applied over 4,000 projects successfully.

It has higher credibility and stability.

Main Features of Midas/Gen

- Intelligent User Interface.- Latest Enhanced Computer Graphics.- User oriented input/output. - High-rise Specific Functionality.- High-end Analysis Capabilities.- Fast Solver Speed.- Comprehensive Design module.

Page 4: 03-Building Project Applications Using MIDAS Gen

Why MIDAS ?

It contains High‐end Analysis Features and comprehensive design capabilities.

Are there a need for such comprehensive analysis features?

Yes.

Page 5: 03-Building Project Applications Using MIDAS Gen

Innovation in Building Construction

Current construction market allows for iconic building with very un‐usual shapes

Page 6: 03-Building Project Applications Using MIDAS Gen

Challenges for Structural Engineer

Building codes give only guidelines and can’t cover all special cases.

Overestimation lead sometimes to un‐safe design.

Page 7: 03-Building Project Applications Using MIDAS Gen

Challenges for Structural Engineer

There is a need for a powerful analytical software that comprehensively address the behaviour of such buildings and lead to safe design.

Page 8: 03-Building Project Applications Using MIDAS Gen

Shall I stop using my usual software?

No. At least you have to use parallel model for verification of the results.

Manual verifications may not be suitable in complex projects.
