Local businesses face stiff competition from both within Thailand and abroad
Business are no longer expected to make just money and create jobs, but also expected to contribute to society
Majority of big companies turn to CSR to strengthen their images
Strong brand image in turn increases customers and revenues
Many of the elements required to build successful CSR programme fall outside the skills and knowledge of business people
Hiring a CSR specialist is costly Many local companies resort to simply donate
money to charity foundations, without control of how the money is spent, how it will benefit people in need, and forgetting benefit that the company can gain from the donation
The Bangkok Charity Orchestra (BCO) is Thailand’s first and only non-profit orchestra that is set up with the charitable purpose to raise funds for charities as well as to raise awareness about classical music in Thailand
Our musicians consist of active players from a diverse background who share a common passion to seek excellence in music making and use their skills to make positive difference to the society
To support well respected charities We aim to raise funds to help the under
privileged and those who are suffering.
Emphasize the importance of CSR within companies We aim to assist companies in Thailand with
their CSR initiatives.
To promote classical music in Thailand We aim to provide opportunities for both
professionals and students in Bangkok to perform to a high standard as well as to establish networks through music-making while building awareness of their relatively privileged place in the society.
