Those opposed to the project say they will file an appeal. Munem Maida own the parcel and pro- posed the convenience store and gas station at the site almost two years ago. On Feb. 5, the San Bernardino County Planning Commission unanimously approved the conditional use permit. The proposal also includes a caretaker’s residence. According to Dave Prusch, of county land use services, appeals must be filed within 10 days of the Feb. 5 decision or the Planning Commission ruling becomes effective. A group of residents and property own- ers in the Erwin Lake area plan to file an appeal prior to the deadline. According to Tricia Cameron of Erwin Lake, the residents in the area are working with the Friends of Big Bear Valley in appealing the project to the county Board of Supervisors. Erwin Lake residents plan to
