We have written large articles on survival and have ac-tively engaged with our commu-nity by writing tests and hosting competitions. Recently we reached our mark of 3500 mem-bers. The Zombie Survival and Defense Wiki was started on December 14th 2006 at 12pm by Angela B. She was able to have the site fully functioning within three months. At that time there were about five hundred members and six modera-tors. On August 17th Mars-den joined and within a month was promoted to moderator and later admin three weeks later. On Febru-ary 2nd Alicestar joined the wiki bringing with him much military knowledge; some-

thing that we were lacking as a community. With his knowledge our Weapons and Gear section doubled in size. Three months later an elec-tion was held after Angela's disappearance from the wiki community. Results were favorable for many candi-dates, including Vanrullz, our new Minister of Foreign Af-fairs, 3DayAsylum with Lo-gistics and most of all Alicestar, who was pro-moted to be the wiki’s sec-ond Administrator. of mouth as members get their brothers, sisters and friends to join and finally the excellent work from Vanrullz on our Bebo, MySpace and other social networking sites. The staff of the ZSDW would like to offer a full thank you to all who have contributed to our growing community. It is hard to believe that only a year ago our site mem-bership stood at barely 1’000. Hopefully the fame

The ZSDW has been aver-aging between 4 and 5 new users each day, occasionally increasing to about 8 during holidays. On January 12th 2009 the ZSDW was pleased to announce their 3’500th registered user. This is a fantastic achieve-ment. Our success comes down to a number of fac-tors including; the commu-nity and easy access of mul-tiple website of the Wet-paint community., the word

of our site will continue to spread and support our vast growth well into the foreseeable future.

THE ZOMBIE SURVIVAL & DFENSE WIKI HISTORY (PART I )

Z SDW REACHES 3’500 USERS AND COUNTING!

SkipNChurch has proved his dedication to the community as he proceeded to modernize the home-page from a template we had been using for months. He is a major fan of guns as well which has helped expand our “Weapons and Gear”

section even further.

We are looking for-ward to 2009 being the best year the wiki has ever had.

NEW ZSDW ADMINISTRATOR CONTINUED. . .About a week ago the wiki was proud to promote its third Ad-min is t ra tor in to power. SkipNChurch has been a very ac-tive member in de-bates and page re-vamps since Febru-ary 2008. We are proud to welcome him to the team.

“SkipNChurch has been a very active member since February

2008, he should have got

recognition for his efforts earlier.”

The first article of the week is one written about six months ago by ‘Gladimnotdaonly1.’ The article is well researched and explores the dangers faced after Z-Day as hun-dreds of Nuclear Power Stations will reach criti-cal mass. It is a threat we think about so little when we are considering zombies. Even if you don’t have a clue about nuclear energy have a

read over it. It isn’t to hard to grasp. If you do know a lot about nuclear energy, then please help us by adding how you think we would survive such an incident.

The article can be found by clicking the hyperlink on the picture to the left which will take you di-rectly to the page. Feel free to discuss, debate and add content. It is the

community spirit that drives our wiki forward.

Do NOT al-low yourself to be lulled into the false sense of security and general complacency caused by the “high-tech miracle solutions” mentality. For the man who has to have it all; this wireless camera runs on a 12v battery and the receiver runs on 4 AA batteries. Good locations to place are vulnerable areas, your emergency escape exit (need to be able to tell if Zack is hanging out back there), in the cage you locked up a zombie to test its senses. The SVAT (company name) receiver can monitor up to 3 wireless cameras (one for your main entrance, one for your emer-

commodity after Z-Day. It also frequently jams when cutting down vines on trees. How do you think it is going to get through sev-eral layers of muscle, bone tissue and organs without jamming?

Following up from that is the problem of blood, guts etc. being thrown every-where during the engage-ment with the undead. The blood which will spray is

probably going to infect you if you get it in your eyes, mouth or any cuts you may have at the time.

Overall the chainsaw is now looking to be a great weapon.

WEAPON OF THE WEEK—THE CHAINSAWThe Chainsaw is hailed in many modern day Z-movies as the solution to all your problems. Is a horde com-ing? No Problem! Just whip out your trusty chainsaw, rev it up and charge through the infected mass. Unfortunately it doesn’t work like that. The chain-saw is heavy, almost too heavy to effectively swing or wield as a weapon. It also runs on petrol, which will become a very precious

Another major issue we are taking measures to tackle is the lack of Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar on some pages. We are intend-ing to make major cor-rect ions to our ‘Weapons and Gear’ and ‘Survival Plans’ pages.

Report by Marsden

Currently there are a number of issues ad-ministration and the mods are addressing; one being the home page. We plan on re-doing it soon to make it more modern. Skip has already been work-ing on this. We also hope to clean up the old pages and redun-dant ones.

Update:

Thanks to Wetpaint Staff member, Green-Arrow our homepage looks absolutely fantas-tic.

Thank you for taking time to read this news-letter, the next one should be released by January 27th. Sorry about all the articles being writ-ten by Marsden. We are intending to have the commu-nity write articles for the Gazette in the future. Until then however, stay safe.
