• There are many indicators in the title sequence that shows us that the film is set in America. These indicators include American prisons, American Money, American fire men, highways and cars.

The Zombieland sequence shows a contrast of different themes. Such as it shows conventions of a comedy film for example the zombie wife killing the groom. Also from the title sequence we see different scenes that show evidence that society has been turned on its head for example the prisoner taking over the prison guard and bride taking over groom.

However, it also shows conventions of a horror as it has gory scenes such as a zombie throwing up blood.

From watching the title sequence we can expect what themes the film will show for example the idea that zombies will kill everyone and no one is spared. I can infer this because all class of society is shown in the sequence such as the common person, business men, public service, homeless and even criminals.

Also in the title sequence we see a large amount of gore this is a big part of iconography as we see gore in most horror movies such as SAW.Another icon to signify its genre horror is the colour used in the sequence and the poster, which is red and black. Also in different scenes in the sequence uses other colours to show that it is not just a horror but a horror comedy.

The iconography shown the Zombieland title sequence follows the codes and conventions of a horror/comedy film as shown in the snapshot below. As the overweight man is running away from a zombie stripper.

• From watching the title sequence we can tell that the narrative of the film will be horrific and gory but also comical at the same time. We can infer this from the themes we get from the sequence. These themes will give the audience expectations of the film and from this sequence we can tell that the narrative will be scary but humorous at the same time. However, because the sequence involves quite a few different scenes the narrative isn't clear as all scenes do not match and the audience does not expect anything. Also from this we cannot tell what the narrative is going to be about and who it is going to be about as we do not meet any main characters.

• From this sequence we are not introduced to any main characters but only see minor characters running away from zombies. However, we are introduced to he antagonist of the film which are the zombies.

• The whole title sequence is shown in slow motion this gives a humorous effect such as when the zombie stripper is running after a man. Also it counter acts the gory images we see and puts them in a different perspective as we now see it as funny. The sound in the title sequence in non-diegetic. It works well with the sequence because it has the same pace as the sequence. Also fro the music we can infer what genre the film is going to be as it is fast paced which gives it a humorous element to what we look at. However, as the music is quite dark we can infer that it is a horror and matches to what we are looking at.
