Zion’s Gym
Open to Zion 5th – 8th grade students only!
On Saturday March 12th, all Zion 5th – 8th grade students are invited to participate in the Student
Council sponsored Dodgeball Tournament. Teams will compete to have the money collected from this
tournament donated to a charity of their choice and the honor of being named Zion Dodgeball
Champions. So that we can maximize the fun and focus on friendly competition, we will be using
special ‘soft’ dodgeballs instead of regular rubber balls.
Team specifics are outlined below. Team sign-ups will begin on February 18th on the Student Council
table.
1. Teams must be made up of 6 players.
2. Teams may be made up of players from one grade or a mixture of grades. For example, a
team could have one 5th grader, two 6th graders, and three 7th graders.
3. Each team must have a name and selected charity approved by Mr. H.
4. Cost to participate is $18 per team which must be paid before the start of the tournament.
Money collected will be given to the charity that the winning team is playing to support. 5. Each team member must complete the Parent Permission Slip before competing in the
tournament. No permission slip, no play. 6. Each team must stay in the gym.
Complete dodgeball rules will be reviewed before competition begins. Competition brackets will be
created by Student Council members. Appropriate athletic attire is required; no jewelry of any kind will
be allowed. All participants should plan to be picked up by 12PM that day.
The Parent Permission Slip must be completed before any player participates in the tournament.
Permission slips should be given to your team captain. Team Captains will turn in all money and
permission slips to Mr. H. Each team must appoint a team captain to be the main contact.
Any students that would like to play but are not on a team will be assigned a team on the day of
the tournament.
If you have any questions, please see your Student Council representative or Mr. H.
I _______________________________ agree to abide by
tournament rules and will display Christian behavior and respect for other
tournament members and judges. If I fail to behave appropriately, I understand
that my parent/guardian will be contacted and asked to pick me up
immediately.
