A New 4th Grade Teacher
The congregation of Zion Lutheran Church has
extended a Call to Brooke Sullivan to teach at Zion Lutheran School starting
with the 2016-2017 school year. Mrs. Sullivan would

LIGHT IT UP BLUE
Tuesday, April 12th help us to recognize Light It Up Blue-Autism Awareness
Month by wearing something blue to school

April is Autism Awareness month. Let’s all Light It Up
Blue on April 2! It’s as simple as putting a blue
light bulb on your exterior and or interior light.
An estimated 1 in 68 children in the U.S. are on
the autism spectrum.
New Security Measure
We are pleased to announce the addition of 6 new security cameras. These cameras are placed by each
entrance into Zion Lutheran Church and
School. We are thankful for the purchase and
installation of these cameras.
Golf Outing Our first golf outing for this
year will be at Blackstone Golf Course on Sunday,
April 24th.
We will start at 2:30 PM. Cost for golf and cart is $39.
Once again, the money raised will go to those
studying to be Lutheran Church workers.
This year Rene Castillero will be in his last year at the
Seminary in Fort Wayne. Aaron Boyer and Samantha Vito will be in their last year
at Concordia University Chicago in River Forest.
Anna Smith is at Concordia University Wisconsin in
Mequon.
If you would like to give prizes or donate to the
scholarship fund, see Pastor Borhart. Sign-up sheet in the
church office.
6-8th Grade Community Dance
MCMS will be hosting a charity dance that they have opened to all 6th-8th grade students from MCMS, Riley,
and Zion.
The dance will be held at Marengo Middle School on
Friday, April 22nd from 6-8PM.
Tickets are $2.00 which will be donated to the American Heart Association.
Tickets are available to purchase in Zion’s school office until the day of the dance. Tickets will not be
available at the door.

The Zion Outreach Committee is sponsoring a
springtime
One Service for Service on Sunday April 24th.
There will be one worship service at 9:00 AM on
Sunday April 24.
Our work efforts will commence immediately after the service. The Saturday and
Monday Night Worship Services will not be affected.
Last fall, more than 100 Zion members helped to make this
day a huge success. If you can, please contribute some of your time on this day of
cleaning, painting, gardening, and
beautifying our church and school.
We are planning to have a pot luck luncheon
afterwards, so contributions of prepared food would help
greatly.
