the as paldiski tsingipada was founded in october 2006 by esto-

nian entrepreneurs. the company was established due to the reason

that there were no possibilities of good-quality hot dip galvanizing

of steel structures in the region meeting modern requirements.

in 2007 several companies in estonia as well as abroad worked in

parallel with the aim of designing the production technology and

plant building. on 1 april 2008 a bucket was dug in the wasteland

on paldiski and at the end of the year the most modern hot dip gal-

vanizing plant, zincpot, was completed in our present location.

the strategy of the company is to offer the best hot dip galvaniz-

ing service to regional companies involved in the metal industry.

to accomplish this we have chosen the latest top technology in the

world, the important keywords of which are efficient usage of ener-

gy resources and consumables, safe working environment and high

level of environmental friendliness.

the quality, environment, occupational health and safety manage-

ment systems of as paldiski tsingipada meet the requirements of

the iso 9001, iso 14001 and ohsas 18001 standards. starting from

the beginning of its activities, the company possesses an integrated

environmental permit according to the ippC directive valid in the

european Union. We are also members of the estonian Chamber of

Commerce and industry and Federation of estonian engineering in-

dustry.

as of autumn 2009 there are 20 enthusiastic people working in the

company of whom 15 are in production and 5 in the administrative

and sales departments. the majority of our production personnel

have completed specialised training courses in germany. We sin-

cerely hope that our efforts in the name of becoming the best hot

Steel andcorrosionsteel is a strong, multi-functional and easy to be treated material,

which is being widely used in very different applications. Yet it still

has a major disadvantage – steel corrodes easily. Costs caused by

corrosion range to up to 4% of the gdp of countries with highly

developed economies. thus protection of steel from corrosion is a

highly important activity from the point of view of economics and

environmental friendliness.

being used to protect steel from corrosion – treatment of steel sur-

face with other metals and treatment of steel with paint. one of the

oldest and best-known methods in the world is hot dip galvanizing,

which engages implementation of a natural element – zinc.

Zinc andthe nature thereofNatural element. zinc is a chemical element to be found in the

ground as well as in water, plants, animals and the human body.

Environmentally safe. zinc is not heavy metal. By implementing top

technology, the hot dip galvanizing process is safe for employees

working in the hot dip galvanizing plant and also for the environ-

ment.

Recoverable material. one-third of zinc used in the world comes

from recoverable sources and as much as 80% of used zinc is being

recycled. repeated recycling does not have any negative impact on

the chemical or physical properties of zinc.

Dangers. Factually there is only one danger related to zinc as a

chemical element – an insufficient quantity of zinc in biotic systems

may cause reduced defence capacities against environmental im-

pacts.

of steel products are outlined in standards iso 1461 and iso 10684.

with a durable, maintenance-free and aesthetic surface. a high-

Hot dip galvanizingprocessthorough preparation of the steel surface is a very important fac-

tor in ensuring good quality galvanized coating. to remove oil and

grease the part is dipped in a grease solvent and thereafter in acid.

this helps to remove rust and the oxide layer.

after cleaning the part is treated with flux, which improves the

bonding process of steel and zinc. the prepared part is dried and

pre-heated before it is dipped in zinc.

in the process of hot dip galvanizing the element is passed through

a molten bath of zinc made of steel or ceramics at a temperature of

460 or 560 degrees. zinc remaining unused for forming the coating

remains in the bath to be further used next time.

ronment protection and rational exploitation of natural resources.

Our services Hot dip galvanizing. post-production hot dip galvanizing of steel

structures in compliance with the iso 1461 standard.

the zincpot galvanizing pot is 7 x 1.5 x 2.8 metres (l x W x d) and it

can process any part that weighs 5.3 tons or less.

Centrifugal galvanizing at high temperature. We are set to offer

our clients from october 2009 the high-temperature centrifugal gal-

vanizing service for smaller parts (the longest side is up to 600 mm),

using an automated technology that even enables galvanization of

threaded parts in compliance with the iso 10684 standard.

Zincplus. this passivation service creates the best conditions for

subsequent painting of parts that underwent hot dip galvanizing

as it prevents oxidation of the zinc-coated surface. the zinc-coated

parts thus retain their initial shiny ice-fern patter appearance for

many years.

Zinclink. in cooperation with a partner we offer an efficient trans-

portation service to and from the plant.

Other additional services. small-volume completion, parts packag-

ing, logistical arrangements for delivery to the target client country.

all operations, including vehicle loading and storing, are performed

indoors.

free ports. From paldiski harbour regular cargo transport is available in the following routes: paldiski-Kappelskär, paldiski-st. petersburg,
