Trash Vortex Facts !  The trash vortex is a large area in the Pacific Ocean that is made up of plastic bags that have drifted from

Alaska , Canada, Russia, Japan, New Guinea, the USA, Australia, and

Hawaii.

!  All of the plastic has been collected in one big floating mass of rubbish .

The plastic breaks down and is eaten by fish and other sea life. The

sea life that eats the plastic will become sick or even die.

Storm Water Facts !  Storm water can affect many animals

that live in streams, rivers and the sea when it is polluted. Some of the ways

storm water is polluted are by washing the car near drains, dropping rubbish in the street, dropping oil on the drive

and even cleaning the spouting.

!  Some ways polluted storm water can cause harm to animals and fish life are, it can be toxic to fish, it can

burn plants and it can create a barrier to stop animals getting

oxygen.

life, sediment like mud and clay and detergents such as car wash and soap. All of these can cause serious harm to

fish and any animals that drink the water.
