LIONSGATE TRAVEL L Your Gateway To The World River to the shores of the Sea of Galilee. Dinner and overnight in Tiberias. DAY 11: Jerusalem Today we return to Jerusalem to say our good byes to the City of David. On the way we stop at Beit Shean to visit its archeologi- cal excavations. We continue to Jericho where the “walls came tumbling down” before we return to Jerusalem. Visit Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Memorial Museum. We continue to the Garden of Gethsemane where we discuss and meditate on Jesus’ suffer- ing and his “Passion Week”. We end the day with a visit to the Church of the Redeemer. We return to our hotel for dinner and overnight. DAY 12: Tel Aviv/Jaffa We head for the Mediterranean as we begin to wrap up our journey. Visit the Port of Jaffa. Visit the House of Simon. Walk along the narrow stone cobbled streets home to many artists. We then continue to the modern city of Tel Aviv. ere we will visit Independence Hall. Dinner and overnight in Tel Aviv. DAY 13: Flight Home We transfer to the airport for a very early flight back home. DAY 06: Jerusalem We have arrived at the Holy City of Jerusalem. We continue our journey starting at Mount of Olives where our guide will share the geography and history of Jerusalem. See the Kidron Valley, the Temple Area, and the Holy City. Descend the Mount of Olives by the path of Jesus’ Triumphant Entry into the Kidron Valley. We stop to visit the Western Wall Tunnels located under building of the Old City. We’ll then visit the House of Caiphas, the place of Jesus’ early trials when Peter denied Him. We’ll then view the Valley of the Cheesemaker, and the Valley of Hinnon. We con- tinue to Mount Zion to see David’s Tomb. Return to our hotel for dinner and overnight in Jerusalem. DAY 07: Jerusalem Today begins with a walking tour of the Old City of Jerusalem. We begin at the Western Wall which is part of the structure Herod built to support the Temple Mount and where Jews and visitors flock from around the world to pray. We continue to the Temple Area of Mt. Moriah. Visit the El Aksa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock built on the ancient site where Solomon built his Temple and where Herod built the Second Temple and where Jesus spoke. According to tradition this is also the location of the Rock of Sacrifice where Abraham bound Isaac and where the ceremonial sacrifices of animals took place. Aſter this we walk along the Via Dolorosa to Pilate’s Judgment Hall, the Chapel of the Flagellation, the Ecce Homo Arch where Jesus was tried before Pilate. Stop at the market for some shopping and bartering with locals. Return to our hotel for din- ner and overnight DAY 08: Caesarea/Megiddo/Carmel/Tiberias Aſter breakfast we begin our journey towards the Galilee. As we trace the footsteps of Jesus, we begin with a drive along the shores of the Mediterranean to Caesarea the largest port in the Mediter- ranean. is ancient city was built in honor of Caesar by Herod the Great, and was the capital of the Romans in the Holy Land for nearly 500 years. is was also the seat of Pontius Pilate. See the Crusader City, its fantastic aqueduct, and the amphitheater. We continue on to Haifa and travel through the Jezreel Valley. We stop at Megiddo and the Fields of Armageddon. Megiddo is one of King Solomon’s “chariot cities”, and according to scripture, the location of the battle of Armageddon - the last battle in history. We will see See Gideon’s brook, and the “Well of Herod. We drive to the crest of Mt. Carmel - where Elijah’s con- test with the prophets of Baal took place. We continue east across the Galilee region to view Mt. Tabor. Before we reach Tiberias we stop in Beit Shearim. We end the day in Tiberias and transfer to our hotel for dinner and an overnight stay along the picturesque Sea of Galilee. DAY 09: Tiberias Aſter breakfast we’ll take a morning Boat Tour on the Sea of Gali- lee. We’ll visit Migdal, the home of Mary Magdalene and see the “Jesus Boat” at Kibbutz Nof Ginosar. We’ll then drive the plain of Ginosar to Tabgha where Jesus “multiplied the loaves and fish.” Our next stop is the Mount of Beatitudes, the site of the Sermon on the Mount. We’ll then proceed to the basalt synagogue at Chorazin to see where Jesus taught and see the “Seat of Moses.” We’ll also view the Natural Amphitheater where Jesus also taught and, we’ll visit Capernaum, home of the synagogue of Jesus’ min- istry and miracles. ere will we take some time for prayer and meditation. Next we’ll cross the Jordan River and visit Bethsaida, home of Peter, Andrea, James and John. We end the day with an optional Baptismal Service at the Jordan River. Dinner and over- night in Tiberias. DAY 10: Tiberias Today we tour North -Hula Basin/Upper Galilee/Golan -is morning we’ll pass ancient Hazor through the Hula Basin, known in the Old Testament as the Waters of Merom. We’ll hike in the Dan Nature Preserve and view the rushing Headwaters of the Jor- dan River. We’ll then visit the Dan of the Old Testament, known as the “Hill of the Judge” to explore the incredible excavations and altar where King Jereboam set up a golden calf. From there our bus takes us to Caesarea Philippi where Peter said to Jesus “You are the Christ, the Son of the Livning God.” Next we’ll drive to the Golan Heights where we’ll overlook the Jordan Valley and learn about the Golan Arab/Israel conflict (1948- 1967). We’ll then see Mt. Hermon where our Lord was Transfigured and drive along the ancient Damascus Road. Next we’ll visit Qazrin and its reconstructed New Testament village. DAY 01: Departure We board our overnight flight to Amman, Jordan. Soon you will be walking where Jesus walked! DAY 02: Amman/Madaba We arrive in Amman Airport at 2:15PM. Upon arrival we will transfer to a nearby town of Madaba known for its Byzantine Mosaics and the famous ancient map of Jerusalem and the Holy Land. Aſter a short visit we continue to Petra for dinner and ovenight. DAY 03: Petra/Aquaba Aſter breakfast we tour Petra; established in the 6th century BCE, by the Nabataean Arabs, a nomadic tribe who settled in the area and laid the foundations of a commercial empire that streched from the Euphrates to the Red Sea. Despite successive attempts by the Seleucid King Antigonus, the Roman Emperor Pompey and Herod the Great to bring Petra under the control of their respective empires, Petra remained largely in Naba- taean hands until 106 CE, when conquered by the Romans. e reddish-yellow stone which the Nabataeans exploited to carve their magnificent temples is delicate and can be easily crumbled into sand, remains a testament to Nabatean strength and ingenu- ity. From Petra we drive further south to Aqaba for dinner and overnight. DAY 04: Dead Sea/Qumera/Masada On this morning we drive to the Jordan/Israel Border. We cross into Israel through the Arava Border. Upon arrival we will be met by our Israeli tour guide and begin our journey of the Holy Land. As we drive through the Negev Desert, we explore Timna Val- ley, see the Copper Mines and marvel at the multi-colored rock formation. Upon reaching the Dead Sea region we will experi- ence the closing days of the Roman conquest of the Jews. Aſter climbing the most important mountain in Israel’s history, we observe the last days of the incredible story of the last stand of the Jewish Freedom Fighters who held out against the Romans in 73A.D. e story of the struggle, the excavations, and the view from the top is one of the unforgettable highlight of our tour. Our next stop will be at the Qumran site where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. Before we end the day we will have the opportunity to relax and enjoy the salty water of the Dead Sea. Dinner and overnight will be in our Dead Sea hotel. DAY 05: Ein Gedi/Bethlehem/Jerusalem Before we leave the Negev we take a short drive to Ein Gedi, the oasis in the desert where David hid from Saul. See the beautiful waterfalls and greenery in the midst of desert sand. Our journey then takes us to Bethlehem where we visit the Church of the Na- tivity and pass through Shepherds Fields before making our way to Jerusalem.

DAY 11: JerusalemToday we return to Jerusalem to say our good byes to the City of David. On the way we stop at Beit Shean to visit its archeologi-cal excavations.
