RMAA Yard Sale: Rozzie May Animal Alliance is having yard sale starting at 8am. The location is 268 East Main Street, in Conway. Lots of great household and kitchen items, furniture, clothing, luggage, jewelry, pocketbooks, toys, books, etc. RMAA is also accepting donations of good used items through August 20th.

Maine Street Festival Arts and Crafts Fair: In the past, items for sale have included jewelry, bags, home goods, quilted pieces, body care and personal wellness products, local honey, pottery, felted pieces, home-made unicorn cookie kits and a wide assortment of baked goods. There is still time for artisans to register for table space. There is a food stall that sells coffee, hot dogs, popcorn and lemonade. A children’s area where kids can use their imagination, build things and play is centrally located. Entertainment will be provided by the Upper Saco Cultural Alliance (USCA). Bach Festival: Join White Mountain Musical Arts for the 31st annual presentation of the Bach Festival, a favorite Baroque music weekend in the Mt. Washington Valley. The celebration offers opportunities to hear the music of J. S. Bach performed by chorus, orchestra and soloists in a festival setting this evening at 7:30pm at the First Church of Christ, Congregational in North Conway. The performers include musicians from the greater New England region as well as local residents of the Conway/Fryeburg area. The First Church of Christ venue offers air conditioning and handicap access with parking behind the building. Tickets are available in advance at The UPS Store through August 23, and will also be available at the door.

AMC Pinkham Happenings: The Bear Basics for Campers and Hikers, with featured Guest Speaker Merrill Maben, is the 8pm program at AMC Pinkham Notch Visitor Center. Learn about the biology and behavior of the American Black Bear (Ursus americanus). Minimize conflict with bears and keep ourselves safe by learning how to avoid bear encounters and what to do when you encounter a bear on a trail or campsite. Call 466-2721 for more information.

GOACC Golf Tournament: Greater Ossipee Area Chamber of Commerce will hold their annual Golf Tournament at Indian Mound Gold Club, in Ossipee. Registration opens at 7am; Shotgun start at 8:30am. Hot breakfast will be served. The format is an 18 Hole Scramble. Teams are 4 players - individual players are welcome and will be placed on a team. Two Lights State Park: Spend the day by the ocean, on the rocky coast of Maine. “Mudeo Games” is the theme for this year’s Championship of Mud Football sponsored by Miller Lite/Amoskeag Beverages, LLC. The event will be held September 6, 7, & 8 at the North Conway Community Center's Hog Coliseum. This is a twelve team touch football tournament played in deep mud. Money raised is donated to the North Conway Community Center, Vaughan Learning Center, Carroll County Retired Senior Volunteer Program, as well as, other non-profits in the Mt Washington Valley. Each $15 ticket ensures entrance into the games on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and doubles as a raffle ticket for $500 on Saturday & Sunday. Day tickets and a family package are also available. Join us over the

weekend for the annual spectator football toss (winner takes home $50), t-shirt sales, Hall of Fame ceremony, player/spirit team fun mud competitions, and girl games. Raffle tickets will be for sale for two quilts; the annual quilt to benefit Carroll County RSVP and a t-shirt quilt made with Mud Bowl t-shirts to benefit Mud Bowl. The t-shirt quilt was donated by Carolyn Brown of Carolyn's Valley Tailor Shop located in Redstone. The Annual Tournament of Mud Parade is scheduled for Saturday on Main Street in North Conway at 10:00 AM. Teams include the Mt Washington Valley Hogs, North Country Mud Crocs, Carrabassett Valley Rats,

Mud Gumbys, North Shore Mud Sharks, New Hampshire Mudcats, Jack’s Predators, Cumberland Muckaneers, Rowley Mud Ducks, The Muddas, Massachusetts Muddogs, and North Conway Mud Things. The event is organized by community volunteers, as well as, staff from the main beneficiaries. The committee includes Benny Jessemen, Jackie Howe, Monica Belkin, Jason Veno, Chris Olds, Heather Ouellette, Mary Seavey, Tommy Wagner, Tom Vestal, Joe McCusker, and Tim Scott. Event volunteers are needed and appreciated. Volunteers must be 21 years old and have health insurance. Call the North Conway Community Center to volunteer; 603-356-2096.

sense of belonging and spiritual connectedness,” she says. Her results demonstrate that horses connect people. Unlike therapeutic riding, coaching does not actually involve riding. Instead, it’s about discovering that connection with the horse. “When a child breathes over the head of a horse, the horse connects his breathing to that of the human,” explains Paula. “It’s about opening up the potential of healing and the heart connection.” It’s about opening your heart and giving the horse a big hug. It’s about overcoming fear and post-traumatic stress. Many of the kids Paula works

Paula Lambie, who with her husband Pete, founded the HHB (Human Horse Balance) Healing Foundation in Center Conway, N.H. in 2017, uses a technique that has proven helpful to many in conquering life’s challenges. With the assistance of their rescue horses, they are able to raise consciousness teaching others more about themselves, to recognize each individual’s unique courage, inner strengths and ability for connection. The human and equine relationship has been studied to help kids, teens and adults cope with life challenges. Paula utilizing her unique combination of skills has developed an effective method of horse coaching to this end. “We all need a

Crafts & Artisan Festival: New England Crafters at their best, on the lawn of the Gibson Center from 10am-5pm. We have fine jewelry, photography, art, pottery, gourmet specialty foods, stained glass, doll clothes, kettle korn, clothing, quilts, pillows, woodcrafts, Adirondack chairs, wood signs and furniture. Benefits the Gibson Center for Senior Services, Meals on Wheels Program.

Color from Plants Fiber Dyeing: Pre-registration is required for this 10am-3:30pm program.. At Remick Country Doctor Museum & Farm in Tamworth Village, learn the colorful art and craft of fiber dyeing with plants. This in-depth workshop will start at the Dye Garden and, using whole plants, an array of colorful dye baths will be created. Then, learn to wash, mordant and dye fiber. You will go home with dyed wool yarn, a handout of instructions and recipes, and a colorful samples card. This workshop takes place outdoors, dress for sun and shade. Bring your lunch. Paper Lantern-Making Workshop: Come make beautiful paper lanterns for your canoe, kayak, or to carry, and then join in magical end-of-summer lantern parades at dusk on Squam and Chocorua Lakes. Pop-Up Paper Mill: White Mountain National Forest Artist in Residence May Babcock is a paper maker and visual artist. Join her in making paper from plants harvested from the WMNF earlier this summer. This hands-on event is free

and open to the public. All ages are encouraged to attend from 2-4pm at the Russell-Colbath House, on the Kancamagus Highway, in Albany.

Doll Museum Visit: The Friends of the Fryeburg Public Library invite YOU to join them in visiting the remarkable Hazel and Owen Currier Doll Museum between 10am-12noon. There are over 10,000 dolls in the museum, all donated by Hazel Currier who collected them starting in 1970. Many of the dolls, specifically the numerous Barbies, are outfitted in hand crocheted outfits designed and crafted by Hazel. The Fryeburg Historical Society accepted the donation and established the museum with the support of The Town of Fryeburg in the historic Fryeburg Town House. A Doll themed creative activity and story time with other dolls and their stories will simultaneously be offered at the Fryeburg Public Library. Refreshments will be available at both the Library and the Doll Museum (weather permitting).

ReTails Thrift Store is brimming with unique treasures just waiting for you to discover. We are open Monday thru Saturday, 10am-3pm, every week. Located inside the actual building that houses the Conway Area Humane Society, we have a wide variety of gently loved items, including housewares, clothing, furniture, and linens. We like to say it is like Christmas every day here, you never know what you will find! 100% of our proceeds from ReTails are directly returned to the animals we care for at the Conway Area Humane Society.
