General Information

Audi%ons!During  band  camp  we  have  an  audi2oning  process  that  determines  who  will  have  a  spot  on  the  field  and  who  will  have  an  alternate  spot.  You  will  be  asked  to  march  and  play  music  that  you  will  get  in  your  band  packet.  Here  are  some  2ps  to  help  you  get  ready:

Go  over  forward  and  backward  marching.

Finally  just  relax  and  have  fun.

Audi2ons  are  nothing  to  stress  about.  We  will  go  over  marching  techniques  and  the  music  you  get  in  your  packet  before  you  audi2on.  Alternates  will  par2cipate  in  all  aspects  of  performance  other  than  halHime!  This  includes  pre-­‐game,  stand  band,  parades,  etc.  If  you  do  happen  to  be  assigned  an  alternate  spot,  you  will  have  an  opportunity,  every  week  before  home  games,  to  get  a  spot  on  the  field.

Season  Highlights!FUNtas'c  days  to  look  forward  too!  

Events:• Sec'on  Olympics-­‐  where  sec'ons  go  head  to  head  in  baBle  to  see  who  can  complete  various  tasks  throughout  Band  Camp!  

• Dunk  Off-­‐  An  event  that  the  clarinets  stand  undefeated!  10  packs  of  Oreos  and  5  gallons  of  milk  is  merely  a  snack  for  this  sec'on!

• Plus  lots  of  clarinet  chill  'me!!  

Exci'ng  dates  during  the  season:• September  1-­‐  1st  home  game  against                  St.  Francis(PA)• Sept  7-­‐  MRD  exhibi'on  at  a  local  high  school• Sept  15-­‐  JMU  vs  WVA  at  FedEx  Field• Sept  29-­‐  MRD  exhibi'on  at  North  Stafford  and  Hermitage  High  School

• Oct  20-­‐  PARADE  OF  CHAMPIONS!  • Dec  7-­‐  Harrisonburg  holiday  parade!
