Fetch dvm360 conference is all about taking care of the people who care for pets. We’re providing the high-quality CE you need, but in a whole new way. Here’s what that looks like:

Take care of your physical and mental health with wellness-inspired resources. You’re here working hard on learning, but it’s still a break from your everyday pressures and habits. Take advantage of that break to reflect. Get something off your chest with the Vet Confessionals Project. Drink more water. Track your steps. Think about what you want for yourself and your future. Do some yoga with cats. Refuel and recharge in whatever way you need.

Discover new ideas and get those creative juices flowing. Watch for exciting giveaways. Try something new. Go to sessions that spark your excitement about work, and then make a plan that helps you hold on to that great feeling when you’re home.

Make new and lasting connections with your peers. Find like-minded professionals in sessions. Share your experience on social media and through the Fetch dvm360 app. Ask that burning (or even mildly embarrassing) question during or after the session, while you have that brilliant speaker available to you. Talk to exhibitors about the new solutions they’re bringing to the table. Build yourself a network for solutions and support.

Take away more from the expert presenters and meaningful sessions you hear. We’ll be offering talks that leverage the latest thinking about adult learning, insights into how doodling can help you remember significantly more, free tools that help you and your team get ideas into action when you get back to practice, and supporting resources on dvm360.com that you can access 365 days a year.

All this is designed to help you make the most of everyminute of CE. Here’s the quick-hit breakdown:> We’re taking adult learning to the next level.> We’re giving veterinary professionals personalized

solutions to their practice problems.> We’re arming you to get those new ideas into action. We’re organizing the Fetch dvm360 conference around these four pillars because we want to provide a CE experience that’s truly transformational. Are you ready?

We get it. You’ve got a lot on your mind. And we’d like to help you sleep better. That’s why we’ve devoted an entire track to tackling the toughest topics you’re managing. How do we know what’s top-of-mind for you? Because dvm360 regularly surveys veterinary professionals, we pretty much always know what’s keeping you up at night. That’s why you’ll find these topics on the program.

What’s keeping you up at night? Student debt | Increasing competition | Work-life balance

Difficult clients | Team conflict | Compassion fatigue

and start sleeping better.

Client issuesI’m tired of it being my word against Dr. Google’s. I wish I could manage clients’ sources of misinformation.

Clients don’t seem to care about their pets as much as I do. Why don’t they accept my recommendations for preventive care?

Money & business issuesI’m in so much debt. How to manage student debt—so it doesn’t jeopardize your future.

My competition is growing every day. How can I possibly stay on the radar for new and existing clients?

Personal issuesI’m tired, stressed, over-worked, and generally out of balance. I don’t want to burn out, but I don’t see how to change my situation.

Team issuesI work with a team member who has a (really) bad attitude. I need to do something. (And I’m dreading it.)

I am pitching ideas I think would help the practice and help our team stay fired up—and I can’t get buy-in. Why isn’t anyone helping me!?

I can’t find the team members I need.

“My life is hectic. I juggle motherhood, a marriage, practice ownership, lecture schedules and writing. To keep centered and disconnect, I run two, three, even four hours at a time. When I put on my hydration vest (a backpack with a fluid bladder), I feel strong and unstoppable. I have made sure that this part of my life is a priority so that I can stay healthy and sane. I find treadmills in each hotel where I stay and find a way to fit in a run, even if it is a short one. If I don’t take care of myself, I can’t take care of anyone else.”

So bring along your virtual hydration vest. Our speakers are on the journey too, juggling work and family, practice ownership and career goals. Dr. Lisa Radosta, behavior specialist, shares what keeps her on the path.

Fear Free℠ revitalized my career. After years of training to be the best vet I could be, I questioned why pets were hiding in the corners of exam rooms, and why pet owners were reluctant to seek veterinary care. I questioned why consumers were spending more money in every sector of the pet care industry except for veterinary medicine. With the help of my mentor, Dr. Marty Becker, I realized there was a whole new level of health care that hadn’t been tapped—the pet’s mental health. For me, it’s not just about diabetes and what insulin to use. It’s also about how does that pet feel when you needle it with insulin? Helping create techniques to ensure every pet I touch has a better experience and sharing it with others is rewarding and fun.

“Get busy learning, or get busy dying.” —Dr. Jonathan Bloom

Dr. Jonathan Bloom“When we graduated from vet school, we felt accomplished and ready to use everything we’d learned to help pets. It turns out, that’s where our education started. Health care advances and experiences are what really shape our careers.”

Bloom’s 3 Fs are the things that hold most people back from enjoying life to the fullest—fear, failure and fun. Fear of trying something new, the risk of failure and the reluctance to let loose and have a little bit of fun.

ChillDr. Dogan will

lead guided meditation in

quiet rooms at Fetch dvm360

conferences this year.

Founded by Dr. Hilal Dogan and powered by dvm360.com, The Vet Confessionals Project allows you to share your “secret” and encourages creativity and solidarity within the veterinary community. You’ll find the latest, ever-changing exhibit at Fetch dvm360 conference. (We’d love for you to contribute your own secret and walk away feeling a little lighter.) Dr. Dogan is also a certified clinical trauma professional, which means she’s a trained communicator and facilitator. In her sessions, she’ll talk about the stresses veterinary professionals face, teach you to recognize and overcome toxicity—and help you find your personal path to greater joy.

Wellness (yours!)Bree Montana, DVM, CCFP, owns Agate Bay Animal Hospital and Dog Gone Crazy boarding/training facilities in North Lake Tahoe, California. Dr. Montana helped to create the VIN Foundation’s innovative Vets4Vets program, a confidential support group providing emotional care to those struggling with all forms of stress, addiction and mental health issues.

Her best wellness tip:“When something bad is hitting the fan, breathe and grab a balanced, powerful pose. This signals my body that all is well and allows me to access my brain. I ride large, high-energy warmbloods and when something spooky happens (assassin-plastic bag, anyone?) and my pony stops being able to listen and starts to want to run around like a baby dinosaur, things go much better—much faster when I maintain a calm and relaxed posture. When I am calm, the situation becomes more calm. This works beautifully with hairy emergencies in the hospital.”

The career advice everyone should remember:“If you can imagine it, you can do it. It may take a few (or ten) years of real deep down hard work, but anything is possible in this profession with a strong will and a badass work ethic.”

for out-of-the-box veterinary CE at Fetch dvm360 conference.

Fetch dvm360 Virginia Beach program has been submitted (but not yet approved) for a maximum of 32 hours of credit for veterinarians in full attendance and 29 hours of credit for technicians over four days in jurisdictions that recognize AAVSB’s RACE approval. General four-day attendance earns veterinarians 29 hours of CE and technicians 29 hours of CE without purchasing any special programs.

Every state’s licensing board will consider the program; please check with your state’s board for the number of hours it approves. Some boards limit the number of hours accepted in certain categories and/or restrict the number of hours available through certain methods of CE delivery. To record your CE hours, please use the certificate of attendance included in your registration packet. Check the online map of CE requirements by state, or call (800) 255-6864, ext. 6, for more information.

Unless otherwise noted, practice management courses may be applied toward the CE requirement for the Certified

Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) program offered by the Veterinary Hospital Managers Association. Practice management sessions are applicable toward the continuing education requirement for the Certified Veterinary Practice Manager program offered by the Veterinary Hospital Managers Association.

Veterinarians licensed in Texas must track each seminar hour attended on a Texas CE form. When you arrive on site at any Fetch, please visit the Tour & Information Desk to sign in and pick up your form. Before you leave Fetch dvm360 conference, you must return your completed form to the Onsite Registration Desk and sign out on the sheet provided. A Fetch dvm360 staff member will verify your hours and give you a signed CE Certificate of Attendance. Don’t leave without your certificate—unfortunately we aren’t able to mail it to you.

Fetch dvm360 is an approved sponsor to provide continuing education to New York State licensees.
