Over the past 20 years, I’ve made it my life’s work to create a better model of aging for Australians.

My Mum who passed from dementia-related complications was the driving force of why I’ve spent my life creating an alternative to traditional aged care. When I was considering an aged care home for her, she told me she didn’t want to live in a box, she didn’t want to be told to get up at a certain time and live a regimented life. She wanted to be able to keep her dog, Honey, to have family stay, she didn’t want someone washing her delicates, she wanted privacy and dignity. At the time, I couldn’t find a place that offered her the kind of life she wanted, so I made improving aged care

my odyssey. If it’s not good enough for the people I love, it’s simply not good enough.My determination to create the best alternative to aged care led to a fresh, heart-centred approach known as private aged care. I wanted to give the power back to the residents, put people first where you have your own home in a supportive and nurturing community, couples stay together, pets are welcome, grand kids have sleepovers, and most importantly – your comfort, dignity and independence is the first priority.

The Odyssey model is simple: it’s a downsize with care built-in. We deliver personalised care and support services covering low care, moderate care, high care through to extra high care. We’ve built our FlexiCare packages to be delivered at cost and fully customisable to you so that you receive the highest quality of care. This enables you to have as much independence as you desire, while still having the reassurance that care is available to you 24/7.

Around the clock peace of mind

Living at Odyssey means access to first-class care at all times. The community features a Registered Nurse and support staff on-site 24/7. No job is too big or too small for our care team. In addition to care services, our staff are there to assist with any other domestic requirements like cleaning your home, doing the washing or going to the shops.

Care designed around you

At Odyssey, your dignity is paramount. We lead with compassion and believe that you shouldn’t have to make big life changes simply because you’re requiring a new level of care. Even if your care needs change, you don’t have to move. Couples stay together, even if your partner’s care requirements change.

Government Funded Care Packages

Care at Odyssey can be compatible with a range of government funded care packages, including Consumer Directed Care packages. Our staff will be able to advise you of how our weekly care package can fit in with these services and subsidies.

Financial security you can depend on

We understand the need for financial security, especially at this crucial time in your life. That’s why we’ve created a pricing model that allows for complete flexibility and transparency. Whether you opt to reduce the entry price and increase the deferred management fee or vice versa, or change your level of care, we make finances simple and customisable to you. Your weekly costs are encompassed in one bill, without hidden fees and all care services are delivered at cost.

Your Home

This is the cost of the apartment of your choosing. There are no bonds and no waiting lists. We help you transition with ease from your old home to your new home at Odyssey.

Weekly Service Charge

Much like a body corporate fee, your weekly service charge covers all of the necessary amenities and services required to make life at Odyssey the best possible experience.

Your Weekly Service Charge includes:

• Around the clock on-site Care Team, including a Registered Nurse

• Lifestyle Coordinators for rehabilitation support

• Regular comprehensive health assessments

• Wellness program to ensure well-being, if required

• Concierge services, administration and management

• Fully managed activities program

• Outdoor and leisure centre facilities

• Community bus services

• Gated security and surveillance security

• Family consultation with Care Team, if needed

• Visual checks on a regular basis, if wanted

• Council rates and council water levy

• Building insurance, building repairs and yearly pest control

• On-site garden maintenance five days per week

• Community electricity

• Cleaning of common areas

FlexiCare packages

Odyssey’s care packages are called FlexiCare, a simple alternative that works like private health insurance. FlexiCare provides four

levels of care from low care to extra high care. FlexiCare is flexible meaning you can change your level of care at any time, you can bring your own Government funded care packages with you, and all care is delivered at cost. Other services like cleaning and domestic support are all offered as a part of the FlexiCare package.

Deferred Management Fee Option

Odyssey offers a Deferred Management Fee or use now, pay later option that allows us to keep weekly costs low and our initial purchase fee competitive, while still being able to provide a first-class aged care experience. You are provided the option to be charged cumulatively as a percentage for each year and capped after three years (this fee can vary pending feedback from yourself and your trusted advisors). You can also choose to opt out of the fee and pay upfront if you choose.

Meals

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served up fresh daily at the on-site restaurant. You may choose a pay as you go option for meals, or opt for one of our meal packages which are delivered at cost.
