INTRODUCTION

Dear Wannabe CPA-Prenuer,

Thanks for subscribing & I sincerely hope that this guide allows you to achieve your dream of getting into a CPA network of your choice. Getting accepted into a CPA network is a lot easier than you think. Applying to a CPA network should be considered no less than applying for a real-world job and that’s the most important takeaway from this guide.

WHAT THIS GUIDE IS ABOUT?

Whether you are a newbie looking to join a CPA network or you are an international affiliate struggling to get accepted by networks, this guide will be your savior.

This guide is up to date, so you don’t have to spend hours digging through old threads at forums looking for information on best CPA networks to join. I’ve done all the hard work for you. A lot of new CPA networks pop up all the time. Some CPA networks which were considered to be must-join networks not too long ago have ceased operations. Lastly, it is better to stick with networks that are reliable and have a proven track record and you will learn about the same in this guide.

WHAT THIS GUIDE IS NOT ABOUT

I have tried to keep this guide as simple as possible so as to not to overwhelm you with unnecessary technical jargons.

This guide is all about getting acceptance to networks; so it will not teach you how to promote CPA offers. That’s the reason why I’ve included some free & paid CPA training resources towards the end of the guide.

Lastly, I don’t want to give you any false hopes or expectations. This guide does not guarantee that you will get accepted in CPA networks; but if you follow the strategies outlined, your chances of getting accepted vastly improve.

Why I decided to put up this guide?

I don’t want you to make the same mistakes I made……

In any CPA forums there is at least one thread every single day about getting accepted into networks.

“I’m a newbie; help me join a CPA network.”

“What’s the best newbie friendly CPA network?”

“I’m an international affiliate, will I be accepted?”

“Do I need a website?”

Hey, I’ve a website but still wasn’t accepted.

I’m nervous about the phone interview……..”

A few years ago even I had the same questions.

My First CPA Application

Not a memorable one…

Firstly I was an international affiliate and I had not made a dime online. I was only aware of the fact that it is easier to make profits from CPA offers than Clickbank Offers.

The only stuff I was good at was in building word press sites and doing SEO. I was scared of doing any paid traffic because I had heard that you need a lot of money to get started with it. Moreover if you are not good at it you could end up losing your shirt.

I read in the forums that you need a website to get approved by a CPA network. So I hurriedly put together a Wordpress website with few blog posts and sent out my application to two of the best CPA networks.

I waited for a week but sadly I didn’t hear from them. So I tried to muster up some courage and kept calling the networks repeatedly but there was no response.

After about two days I received a mail from both the networks that my application has been rejected.

For a moment I did feel dejected but then I felt I’m doing something wrong. I felt perhaps I’m not at all experienced to apply to the top networks or perhaps they have some selection criteria for which my application is not appropriate.

Sending out random applications to networks was just like shooting in the dark.

So I decided to change my strategy. Rather than apply to the best CPA networks, I applied to a network that was relatively new at that time. CPAWAY network approved my application instantly without conducting any telephonic interview. I was over the moon until….

I logged in to the network dashboard.

I was totally confused and overwhelmed looking at the dashboard.

A lot of questions were racing through my head.

“Which offers should I promote? What’s Sub-Id? “There was no FAQ or step by step training tutorials. Isn’t the affiliate manager supposed to provide training?”

“I did create a dummy website but how do I promote offers using that website. If so which offers?”

Huh, somebody in the forum even recommended that the first thing you need to do after joining a CPA network is to ask your affiliate manager for the top converting offers.

With great difficulty I managed to get approved by a CPA network and I thought with that all my problems are over. Now it seemed like it’s only the start and the worst was yet to come.

I started to feel that this CPA thing doesn’t work and it’s all scam & B.S.

Then I felt that there is a lot more to it than what I am imagining.

I put a full stop to my CPA marketing dreams. Rather than blame networks and that CPA marketing is B.S, I decided to get some experience with affiliate marketing.

So I decided to promote offers from Clickbank as Clickbank does not require any strict application process to promote offers.

Fast forward a year and a half later, I was working with some of the top CPA networks. How did I manage to do that? Continue reading the rest of the guide……

TWO PARALLEL WORLDS

If you are wondering whether I used any blackhat techniques or tricks to get accepted into CPA networks then you are absolutely wrong. What I did use is the one of the most powerful technique that can get you a job in any industry and is not limited to just getting accepted in CPA networks.

More on that later.

Remember what I told you in the very beginning, we have to approach the CPA network application process just like the way we would be applying for a real-world job.

Now the big question is how do the two different domains relate to each other?

Let’s assume for a moment that you have decided to pursue a career in marketing. Would you wake up one fine day and out of the blue decide to apply to a top marketing firm for the position of a manager?

Moreover, do you think the firm will take your application seriously?

Why does applying to a CPA network have to be anything different? If you have no clue about affiliate marketing or for that matter CPA marketing, what do you think your chances of getting approved by a top rated CPA network are?

Moreover, in case you do manage to get approved, do you think you will have the necessary know-how to start promoting offers successfully and start making money? The kind of situation I was in after getting approved by a network.

Also, there aren't many serious networks out there that are willing to try and "teach" you affiliate marketing. You have to do that on your own.

Now back to the real-world job example.

If you want to make it big in the world of marketing, what specific steps will you take to achieve the same?

1. Education: Spend 3-4 years or more in a top university and get a degree in marketing.

2. Create a winning resume.

3. Apply to many companies

4. Give a job-winning interview.

5. Get an entry-level position in a firm and then work your way up the corporate ladder to a top managerial position in the company.

Let’s see how all these steps relate to the world of CPA marketing as well.

1. Education

Let us assume for a moment that you are an absolute newbie to the world of CPA networking. You don’t know how to create a website, blog, drive traffic etc but you are still looking to join a CPA network.

You know the real-world Catch-22: "You can't get a job without experience and you can't get experience without a job." But luckily for getting approval by CPA networks, there is an easy way out.

If you are a fan of Tony Robbins, then you should take his one advise very seriously. This is something that could have really helped me early in my CPA marketing endeavourers. i.e to get a coach.

A good CPA coach can save you years of frustration while trying to figure out everything by yourself and feeling burnt out.

While coaching may seem like a pricey option for you in the beginning, it is well worth the investment for your future profitability from CPA marketing efforts.

Luckily you don’t have slog through a CPA coaching program for 2-3 years or take hefty education loans which you end up repaying for years like the way you have to for real-world education.

So where can you learn about CPA marketing?

Towards the end of the guide, I have listed a few free and paid CPA resources. FREE forums like warriorforums and CPAfix are a good place to begin with.

When I started out, I would make a note of the most important threads in forms and take a hard copy of the same. This way I could easily read in my own leisure time or use these notes for future reference.

Undergoing paid CPA coaching is like killing two birds with one stone.

Most of the affiliate managers of CPA companies are active in forums such as Warrior forums and are aware of the CPA coaches who are also active in forums. So when you say on your application that you have been coached by a XYZ person or any other popular CPA coaching program, your chances of getting approved increases as it shows that you are serious about CPA marketing.

Ultimately, just like any other industry, it’s true for CPA networks as well.

It all comes down to who you know rather than what you know.

2. Create a winning resume

You don’t have to create an award winning resume or submit a 2 page cover letter to get accepted into a CPA network but you need to have a fair idea of what the networks really want and how you should position yourself in front of the network.

More on that later.

For now, take a piece of pen and paper and answer the following questions below as honestly as you can.

For a moment forget the fact that you are even applying to a network.

1. What’s your internet marketing experience?

2. How long have you been doing affiliate marketing?

3. What sort of Niches you specialize in?

4. What type of traffic sources you deal with?

5. Do you have a website? If so, what sort of traffic you get from your website?

6. What other CPA networks do you work with? Can you provide any references for the same?

7. Why do you want to do CPA marketing?

8. If you are interested in paid traffic, what’s your budget?

If you are finding it difficult to answer the above questions, then you may have to refer back to the earlier section.

Remember that if you are going to lie in your application, it’s only going to backfire on you. Moreover, you also won’t have the confidence to ace the telephonic interview. Affiliate Managers are experienced enough to know who is legit and who is not just by reading your application form.

3. Apply to many companies.

I hope you took your time to answer the questions as truthfully as possible. It was supposed to be a self assessment. i.e doing a realistic appraisal of yourself. Consider it as the starting point for your CPA marketing career planning

Back to the example of real -world job application.

At this stage, you have a good solid education in the area of marketing and an award winning resume. Now you are ready to start applying to a few companies.

Of course, you are going to have some expectations from your future employer.

Let’s see what qualities you will look for in the companies that you are going to apply.

1. It should be reputable.

2. The company should pay you on time as well as compensate you well.

3. You expect to receive good support with regards to any grievances or work related issues.

4. You want a company that keeps growing and has a long term vision.

If you are an affiliate, you will have similar expectations from the network that you are going to join.

1. You WANT TO join a reputable company

You want to work with some of the top CPA networks that are well known in the affiliate marketing industry; which other affiliates are also recommending and are working with.

1. You want to join a company that pays you on time as well as compensates you well.

Maintaining a strong cash flow in CPA marketing is very important. Since you will be spending a lot of money on traffic, it is reasonable for you to expect a quick turnaround from networks in terms of payouts. The last thing you want is not getting paid for the traffic that you worked so hard to generate for your leads or not getting paid on time.

2. You expect good support with regards to any grievances or work related issues.

You want to join a CPA network where you can easily get in touch with regards to any issues related to offers; such as information regarding expiring offers or to get a list of top converting offers etc. The last thing you want is to drive traffic to offers which have already expired and the network doesn’t even bother informing you.

3. You want a company that keeps growing and has a vision.

The more the CPA network grows, the more confident you will feel to promote offers for other different niches within the network.

Think about this…

In a real-world job, your task is much tougher. You cannot work with multiple companies at the same time. But when it comes to CPA marketing, you have the advantage of joining and working with multiple CPA networks at the same time.

By joining multiple networks you can examine different offers and leverage one network against the other to get higher payouts. For example, if you're working with different networks. say network “X” and network “Y”, and the offer you want pays $50 on network “X “but it's NET30 (pays you in a 30 day cycle), while network “Y” pays $30 but it's weekly, you could ask network “Y” for a payout bump to match network “X.”

Just like the way you have certain expectations from a company, companies also have certain expectations when hiring employees.

So, what kind of candidates do companies look for?

1. Honest & Ethical

2. Doesn’t need a lot of spoon feeding or hand holding.

3. Systematic, professional and proactive.

4. Good creative and analytical thinking skills.

5. Has a long term vision which matches the vision of the company and helps the company achieve its goals and objectives.

6. Who is passionate about his career and wants to pursue the chosen field as a career and not as a hobby.

7. Who will yield lot of profits for the company.

8. Who keeps abreast of all the latest changes in the chosen field and shows a keen willingness to learn and improve.

CPA networks have similar expectations.

The biggest problem CPA networks face is fraudsters who try to get into CPA Networks and provide fake leads. This results in heavy losses not only for networks but also for advertisers. Many legit publishers also get affected.

Networks don’t expect you to be a super affiliate. They are perfectly okay hiring newbies. What’s more important for them is hiring honest, trustworthy affiliates who have a long term vision with regards to their CPA marketing endeavors.

At the end of the day, networks make money only when you make money. They want somebody who can provide quality leads to advertisers.

Moreover they are getting a trained talent for no cost, unlike real-world job where companies are expected to provide employees with all sorts of facilities and perks.

When applying to networks, consider the following criteria:

What offers do they have? Are they the highest payout for that offer? What payout methods do they offer? How often do they pay out?Can you expect good support?

Let us say that you managed to identify a few networks based on all the above suggested criteria and that you are ready to fill in your application.

Just visit their site and look for a sign up page for publishers (not advertisers!).

Then fill out the form with your real information and hit submit.

If you have already filled out all the answers to the self-assessment questions, your job is as good as done.

No prizes for guessing. The self-assessment questions are the kind of questions that you will find on the application form of every CPA network.

But what if your answers are exactly what the networks are looking for? Will it increase the chances of your application approval? Absolutely yes!

Remember what I had told you earlier? We need to know what the networks truly want. If we can match their expectations truthfully, there is no question of them denying our application.

So let’s find out what response do the networks expect to see from applicants and why?

Q.1. Do you have a website?

Everyone feels that just by putting together a website will get their application approved instantly and then they wonder as to why they got denied even after submitting a website in the first place.

Something similar that had happened to me as well.

The truth is that no network will approve you just because you have a URL with your name on it.

So how and when should you submit a website with your application?

If you have a website with a lot of traffic targeting U.S Based traffic on a popular niche or for that matter targeting other English-speaking countries (where most of the money is) then submitting a website URL makes sense.

The second case where including a website with application could help is when you want to give the impression to the network that you have some experience with regards to affiliate marketing and that you are not a newbie. This is the reason why 90% of the people always submit their website to the networks and why everybody in the forums also suggest to submit.

While you may even get away by submitting a URL that is totally unrelated to CPA niches or in general the IM niche, but why do that?

If you are planning to target the car insurance niche, there's nothing wrong about using a content-rich website regarding car insurance. It’s better to make a website for the vertical that you want to promote before you apply to the network.

Some key points to remember while submitting your website:

1. Buy a .com or .net domain.

2. It costs less than $10 and will probably be the best investment of your life. Don’t even try to apply to CPA networks using BlogSpot blogs as you don’t want to sound unprofessional.

3. Use info@ your website.com for email address instead of Gmail or Hotmail addresses. Again for the same reasons of not sounding unprofessional.

4. Make sure to leave the WHOIS unprotected and then explain the network as to how you are going to buy paid traffic to drive visitors to your website.

More on the paid traffic part later.

But believe it or not, you can actually get accepted without even having a site.

Let’s see how the reverse is also true.

Q.2. How will you promote offers?

Although you can specify that you will be using SEO to drive traffic to your offers, the fact is that networks like paid traffic because SEO takes time.

Networks want you to start driving traffic to offers as soon as you join and start making money for them.

So unless your website already has traffic of over a million visitors a month, it’s just a lot harder to make money only using free traffic sources. Moreover it is difficult to scale free traffic just like paid traffic.

That’s why if you intend to specify a website in your application, you could always tell them as to how you intend to drive traffic to your website using paid traffic sources.

This way networks will get the impression that primarily you intend to use paid traffic and not just free traffic for your website.

One important thing to remember is that you should never try to pretend to be a super affiliate.

Don’t try to show that you can promote offers using all the traffic sources. The fact is that not even super affiliates deal with so many traffic sources at the same time.

So just choose the methods that you feel more comfortable working with and mention them in your application.

Finally, if you don’t have any websites at all or if you intend to use only paid traffic, you could specify some dummy website name and write a comment saying that you will be using only paid traffic to drive offers.

Q.3 What sort of budget you have?

This question is related to paid traffic.

Never say that you have a budget of $1000 per day unless you are already spending that much money buying traffic. In fact if you are just starting out, just specify what amount you will be comfortable spending on a daily basis.

Affiliates will test offers first on small budgets before they decide to invest large amount on buying traffic. So you can always say how much money you intend to spend to test offers first and that you will increase your budget once you find a winning offer to drive more traffic to the offer.

Q.4 Do you have any affiliate marketing experience?

A lot of applicants mess up this section. As I said earlier; networks don’t really care even if you have less experience. Claiming to have affiliate marketing experience of more than 5 - 6 years will give a bad impression; especially when you won’t have sufficient proofs to back up your claims.

Most applicants think that networks only want to see CPA marketing experience. Although top networks want you to show some proof that you are also working with other networks, you could get away by showing your affiliate marketing experience even if you are new to CPA marketing.

This is the strategy that I had used. I told them that I have affiliate marketing experience with Clickbank for over 2 years.

So although I had no experience with CPA networks, my experience of having promoted CPS offers with Clickbank helped me to get my applications approved.

The important point to remember is that top networks will ask you to prove your experience by providing screenshots of payment proofs, references from other networks etc. So better be honest upfront.

Q.5 How much money are you making?

Most applicants tend to exaggerate their earnings, thinking that by doing so they will get approved faster.

But as I said, networks don’t really care even if you are not making boatloads of cash.

The point to remember is that they will ask you to verify your earnings claims with proofs.

So if there is a huge difference, it will not give a good impression.

I wasn’t making much with clickbank but I was making it consistently. And I didn’t exaggerate my earnings. So I got approved.

Q.6. Do you use incentivize your traffic?

Some CPA networks allow incent traffic and some don’t. Some allow both. If you are not using any content locking script or incentivizing your traffic, you can say “No.”

Comment box Ninja tactic

This is a secret ninja tactic to get your application approved by using some powerful positioning tactics.

Most applications will have a box wherein you can specify any additional comments. While you may not wish to not leave any additional comments, I suggest that you do.

Things that you can specify in the comment box are:

1. You have read a lot of good things about the network in affpaying.com and that you can’t wait to start working with the network and start promoting offers.

2. You could also talk about your internet marketing experience and as to why you want to do CPA and why you want to join the network.

3. If you are undergoing paid CPA training; you could take the opportunity to provide specific details of the same.

4. If you have already invested or planning to buy any software tools for doing CPA marketing you can specify that as well. For example you could say that you have purchased tools like fbadstoolbox.com for split-testing offers quickly or even mention tools like overplay.net. i.e to view offers that is not offered in your country.

Thus you can make most of the comment box to position yourself as an enthusiastic, legit, serious CPA marketer; the kind of affiliates that the networks want to hire.

After submitting your application, most networks will set your application status to pending. The really good networks will require a phone call before approving your application and letting you access their offers.

More on phone call, later.

Some networks like Neverblue have a two step approval process. If you get approved for round one, they will have a round two process; during which you have to submit some additional information such as screenshots of earnings and references from other networks.

Immediately after submitting your application; you should also do the following things:

1. Email: Although you will receive an auto-email from the network that your application is pending approval, you could send an email to the network saying that you have applied to them and that you are looking forward to get approved.(without sounding desperate).

2. AIM/Skype/WF: Contact the affiliate managers through AIM/Skype or WF. Most of the affiliate manager’s contact info will be mentioned in affpaying.com. You can also contact them through WF.

You can find the networks’ contact information in their websites or at affpaying.com.

When you contact the affiliate managers, don’t sound too desperate. You have to come across as a professional and what will you bring to the table rather than the other way round.

If you follow the steps as mentioned above, you should be able to get approved in a matter of week or two.

Bu if you want to speed up your approval process, it is better that you call the network.

Many networks will actually call you but there is more power in you taking the initiative to call the network rather than other way around.

Let’s find out why…

Power of phone call

This is by far the most controversial and the most talked about part of getting accepted into the networks and as a wannabe CPA applicant you should know it better.

That’s why I have saved the best for the last.

But to tell you honestly, it’s not as scary as it is made out to be.

Applicants really get caught up in the confusion whether they should make the call or not make a call, what they should say etc.

If they receive a call from the network, they are totally unprepared for the same and sound nervous as they stutter and stammer their way through the interview.

If they take the initiative to call, most of the time they end up exaggerating their credentials thinking that networks will approve them faster by doing so.

If you have followed everything that I have talked in the guide so far, you should have more confidence than any other applicant to ace your telephonic interview.

Remember that you have worked hard so far to reach this point. You have done everything right and this is the last and final hurdle you need to cross for an exciting CPA marketing career awaiting you.

But don’t underestimate the power of making a phone call yourself.

While you could wait for a day or two for the network to call you; making the first move really helps; especially if you are an international affiliate or if it is the first network that you are applying to.

As suggested earlier, usually contacting the network AM through Skype or on forums should suffice but there are good psychological reasons to make the call yourself.

What are those reasons?

Firstly, the main concern for networks is not new publishers, but scammers and hackers who are sending fake leads. By making the first move, you are sending a signal to the networks that you are legit.

Secondly, making a phone call will also help in expediting your application process. Most CPA networks will get 10-15 applications a day and in fact the top ones might get even more. Therefore when you call, the networks will prioritize the processing of your application.

Finally, there are more affiliates available than the number of spots. Networks are not desperate to hire you but it’s the other way around.

In a real- world job scenario, you could be facing your employer giving an interview. Just like you hundreds of other employees would have also given the interview.

So how do you get the job?

By making yourself irresistible to your potential employers by focusing on their NEEDS first, you make them desperate to hire you. You should make them feel as if you are the kind of candidate they are looking for. It’s like a match made in heaven. If they don’t hire you, they should feel they will be losing out on a talented affiliate.

So how do you make yourself irresistible to CPA networks?

You need to stand out from the rest

So how do you stand out from the rest?

By using the art of selling yourself

So what is art of selling yourself?

In your career; whether real-world job or CPA marketing, the ability to convince an interviewer that you are the best person for the job is critical.

Rather than being about whom you appear to be, selling yourself is about letting others know who you are as a person. For this reason, lies and half-truths are a recipe for disaster later down the line. By telling the truth, you will earn both trust and respect which, in turn, will help you build a great reputation.

For most job seekers, there are three primary activities in the job search process. The first activity focuses on the identification of new job opportunities. Second is the submission of a resume or credentials. The third activity focuses on the job interview itself.

So far we have seen that how all of these apply to CPA networks as well.

We typically spend a great deal of time and effort on the first two activities right away i.e identifying and narrowing the field of opportunities and then applying to different CPA networks. What usually follows is a substantial and frustrating waiting period.

As I said, when you submit credentials for a position, you’re not the only one interested in the job. Dozens or hundreds of affiliates are interested in the same position.

Top affiliate networks have a strict acceptance process. You cannot take the interview process for granted.

That’s why you need to focus not only on the telephonic interview, but also on everything before and after the interview to ensure your success in getting acceptance.

That’s the reason why I have broken down the telephonic interview process into a 3 step process: pre-telephonic interview, telephonic interview and post-telephonic interview.

More about the processes later.

While in real world job scenarios, one-to-one interviews are mandatory, the biggest advantage of CPA network interviews is that you will never give a one-to-one interview. The phone interview will be the only interview that a network will use to identify potential affiliates to work for them.

That being said, there are some inherent problems that you may face with telephonic interviews:

· The interview becomes impersonal and distant, and it is extremely challenging for you.

· It is difficult to make a personal connection and initiate a relationship. The personal greeting, the handshake, and the “hello” while looking the interviewer in the eye are all extremely important and completely missing from the phone interview.

· Sound quality, volume, line availability, and a variety of distractions are all issues for the phone interview.

The workaround for these problems is that you have to prepare yourself mentally the same way as if you were there in person giving the interview to the affiliate manager.

• While you cannot convey it through your first look, you can, through your vocal presentation, let your affiliate manager know that you are happy, confident, and excited to be speaking with them. Verbalize the same greeting as you would if you were standing right in front of them.

· While you cannot shake their hand as you greet them, let them see your smile or make direct eye contact, what you can do is that instead of visual cues, you will have to listen carefully for verbal cues.

This is far more difficult but listen closely to how the interviewer speaks (volume, tone, diction, accentuation, etc.) and what he or she talks about for hints about the type of person he or she is and how your responses are being perceived.

• If there is time available, you can still ask inquiring questions to find some common ground.

• Develop a relationship with the affiliate manager and make a personal connection .

When working in CPA, it is VITAL to have a good relationship with your affiliate manager. Your affiliate manager is the gateway to getting higher payouts, getting paid faster, getting access to exclusive offers, or even suggestions on how to rock a campaign for maximum money.

3 EASY STEPS TO CRUSH YOUR CPA INTERVIEW:

PRE-INTERVIEW:

So far, you have accomplished the following objectives by submitting your credentials successfully.

• You understand the network and the job position.

• You have provided a solid understanding of your personal and professional qualities,

• You have gone beyond the norm and have distinctly differentiated yourself through all of the pre-interview activities you have completed.

• You are very interested in working for the CPA network that you have applied for.

You know more about the network and the position than any other applicant.

· You know exactly how your experience matches the expectations of the position and you have prepared and practiced for this very moment.

You also need to manage a few other details to substantiate and maintain that impression and to minimize any negative implications arising out of the phone interview process.

TIME ZONE

• Remember time zone implications. Phone interviews allow an

employer to call from anywhere, and time zone differences are

the number one cause of a failed interview. If you are an international affiliate this is really important. In the section where networks allow you to specify the best time to reach you, specify the time that you will be most comfortable in giving the interview based on your convenience.

There have been cases where somebody missed the call from the network and then they wonder as to why they never hear anything back from the network again.

CELL PHONE?

Do not conduct a phone interview using your cell phone. You do not want to be mobile while conducting your interview, and you don’t want to risk the potential quality issues that may arise. Whether you use a cell phone or not, do whatever you can to use the highest quality phone service you can get access to, and make sure that the network has a number for a direct line to reach you.

SETTING

The phone interview should take place in an area that is private, quiet, and will not allow you to be interrupted. You do not want to take an interview call at home where the doorbell will ring or family will interrupt you.

PROFESSIONAL ATTIRE

Dress for the phone interview as you would if you were going for an in-person interview. If you look professional, you will feel professional, and that will come across in what you verbally communicate. Do not conduct a phone interview in your pajamas!

Think Only Positive Thoughts

As long as it’s positive, go ahead and think about it. If your mind goes blank for the moment, just try to remember that you are going to ACE this by telling yourself positive statements.

I’m completely Confident in my abilities.

I’ve already exceeded the expectations of the network, and I’m prepared to do even more.

Summary of answers

The number one problem that can arise due to telephone interviews is that the call invariably comes at a time when people are not ready for it. O

ne minute they’re engrossed in a personal

conversation, the next they’re talking to an affiliate manager who insists

on asking them a range of questions. Given that you cannot

put your life on hold for that one telephone call, it makes a lot of

sense to prepare a summary of your answers and leave it next to your

telephone so that when the call does come, you’ll have the main

points of your answers right at your fingertips, and can read them

out if you have to. This simple strategy is not meant to be a substitute

for proper preparation, but it can help you to focus very quickly.

5. Practice, Practice, Practice

Finally If you’re nervous, call a friend or two to rehearse this before.

Practice builds confidence and confidence facilitates effective communication.

An invaluable way to build your confidence and prepare for your interview is to rehearse the interview. You can do this by yourself, but it is much more effective, and I think more fun, if you can do it with someone else. It can be a friend, family member, business associate, or just about anyone you are comfortable with. The only requirement is that the person must truly care about helping you, and you should trust the person and his or her ability to help you.

So now that you are fully prepared to tackle the phone interview, go ahead and give them a call and say that you have submitted your application to their network and would like to know if there is a way to speed up the approval process.

The attendant will probably transfer you to an affiliate manager

So what sort of questions will the AM ask?

AM will ask the same questions which you already filled in your forms but there are a few things that you need to keep in mind while giving the phone interview that will help to sell yourself successfully to the network and get approved.

INTERVIEW

Handling objections

You will encounter objections most often when going for promotions or jobs in different vocations or industries. In sales, people have objections in buying a product. Similarly employers have objections in hiring you.

Employer objections usually take the form of ‘I like you but . . .’statements. For example, ‘I like you, but my main concern is that most of your experience lies in SEO which is not relevant to our needs.

So how do you answer them back?

1. Agree with the objection: ‘Yes that’s correct. Most of my experience does lie in SEO.’ Agreeing tends to soften the interviewer. Disagreeing will probably make you sound unreasonable, if not desperate to the affiliate manager.

2. State why you think the objection does not represent a problem: ‘I’d like to point out that although majority of my experience lies with SEO, I will be using paid traffic strategies in combination with SEO to drive traffic to my website.

3. Affirm that the difference is not a problem and finish on a positive note:

In fact combining paid and free traffic will provide more leads than just using one of the strategies alone.

STOP SOUNDING DESPERATE

Most people sound desperate during the telephonic interview and mess it up. One way not to sound desperate is to ask a question. Moreover, you have every right to ask a question.

After all you also had some criteria in mind while applying to the networks after reading their reviews.

You can ask questions like:

‐What makes your network better than the others?

‐What kind of traffic are you guys ok with?

‐Who will be my AM (affiliate manager)?

‐What’s the minimum earning for NET‐15 or NET‐7

‐What offers on your network right now are seeing high EPCs? (high earnings per click)

Dare to be different

The affiliate manager will look for qualities that will make you shine and stand out from other affiliates. All you have to do is make the effort to

show the affiliate manager how you stand apart.

Sound enthusiastic

Affiliate managers look for desire and passion in many ways, most notably in the way you present yourself. The easiest way to do this is to express yourself with a never-ending combination of positive attitude and excitement. If you’re excited about your CPA marketing career and can learn how to express that excitement, past successes come to light, future potential comes to the forefront, and AM will see you as a great all-around person who they would love to have as part of their network.

RESEARCH

You’re probably wondering: why should I research the network?

First, researching the network allows you to determine if you really

want to work there as we have seen already.

Second, interviewers and hiring managers want to know that you’re

really interested in CPA and in the network as a whole. They want

you to know as much about the network as they do. They want to

know that you’ve made an effort to understand the network, the

business.

Although interviewers want job candidates to research their company, many people don’t make an effort to do so.

This fact is a great differentiator—which is exactly why you are going to do it. By preparing a brief profile of the network you may soon be working for, that lets the prospective company’s interviewer or hiring manager know that you’ve made an effort; you know about the company at a sufficient level of detail. That knowledge shows you really want to work at the company.

Most of the information you need will be available from the company’s website.

Name of the affiliate managers,

Where the firm is located.

How the firm

What sort of reviews have they received

Have they been rated as no.1 network etc?

CoNFIDENCE

The more confident you are, specifically in relation to your abilities, experience, and personal qualities, the more comfortable you will be talking to the AM about those things.

Confidence improves communication.

When it comes to knowing and

understanding your specific experiences, skills, and personal qualities,

there is no one more superior than you.

Confidence is strengthened by five main variables. By addressing each of

them, you can walk into your next interview with the confidence necessary

to impress the interviewer and win that next great job opportunity.

Focus on the following confidence builders.

1. Good Posture

This is an easy one. Good posture is often overlooked, and it can have

a tremendous impact on how confidence is projected in an interview

setting. Start improving your posture today by sitting up straight with

both feet planted firmly on the floor in front of you and with your

hands on your lap. Make an effort to do it at work, at the dinner table,

and even when you are watching television. Eventually good posture

will become habit.

2. Sharp, Professional Attire

Appropriate attire is sometimes taken for granted. Unfortunately, attire

can sometimes detract from your overall communication effectiveness.

If your outfit for some reason bothers you, makes you uncomfortable, or

forces you to be concerned or think about it during an interview, you will

not be focusing on your communication. The point is this: if, because of

your outfit, you look good and feel good, then you will certainly be more

confident during the interview. You will also send some great non-verbal

impressions to your interviewer.

3. Knowledge

This refers to knowledge of your past experiences, your prospective

employer, and the responsibilities and expectations of the new opportunity

PMyou are pursuing. Review your past experiences as you have prepared them

in your credentials so that you are comfortable with those experiences.

You should be able to elaborate on each of them, if needed. Review your

Company Profile and Job Profile to solidify your understanding of the

company and the specific job opportunity. You’ve done your homework;

you just need to study and review prior to your interview. If you have

a solid grasp of the details of your Company and Job Profiles and your

credentials, no one can give you a challenge you can’t handle. Knowledge

will bring ironclad confidence to not only discuss these topics during an

interview, but also to feel comfortable answering any questions.

4. Preparation

As I’ve established, you have to believe that your next interview is going

to provide the opportunity you’ve always wanted. That means your next

job interview could be one of the most important events of your life.

When you get this next job, it’s going to provide the financial and career

benefits that you have worked so hard to achieve. Believe it and prepare

accordingly. The more you prepare, the more confidence you will have

and the more successful your interview will be. You may not have another

chance. You are the expert on you and everything related to you. You have

to believe this and believe in yourself. Prepare, practice, and walk into

that interview with the confidence that you are truly the best person for

the job.

It’s all in what you say and how you say it

In terms of content, the answers for a telephone interview should

not be any different to the answers you would provide in a normal

interview. The fact that a telephone interview does not provide you

with the opportunities to ‘distract’ the interviewer with your dazzling

smile and wonderful body language means that there is even more

emphasis on what you say. The idea that you do not have to prepare

interview skills that win the job because you will not be sitting face to face with the interviewer is a dangerous one.

The big difference with telephone interviews lies in the voice.

VOICE MATTERS

Interviewees who know how to use their voices properly enjoy an

advantage over those who do not. Your voice is the vehicle by which

you deliver your sentences, and you neglect it at your peril. A good

interview voice is clear and emphasises important points without

building rapport and trust

Whilst voice is important in all interviews, it naturally assumes far

more importance in a telephone interview. In fact, one could say

that voice is the body language of telephone interviews. Here are

some more things to avoid when being interviewed over the

telephone:

• long pauses;

• too many ‘umms’ and ‘ahs’;

• coughing or sneezing directly over the mouthpiece;

• background noises including television, music, screaming kids, etc.;

• long sighs.

Through verbal and nonverbal communication, you must let your interviewer know that there is no other affiliate network you would rather work for and nowhere else you would rather be.

Approaching the greeting in this way will naturally satisfy another

objective: to let the interviewer know how polite, professional, and

confident you are. It may seem like a lot to accomplish in a simple

greeting, but if done appropriately, you can quickly and effectively build

upon the positive impressions you have already made up to this point

The Post-Interview Letter

The post-interview communication can be a differentiator for several

reasons. First, not every job candidate who has completed an interview

will send a follow-up communication of any kind to the hiring manager.

In reality, a large percentage of job candidates will not send any type of

communication, either because they are not interested in the job, feel

they are not being seriously considered, are lazy, or just did not think

about it.

Second, even if everyone you are competing with were to send a

follow-up communication, you can still differentiate yourself by your

timing, content, thoroughness, presentation, and approach.

You will prepare the Post-Interview Letter within twenty-four hours

of your first interview. Why the hurry? It is important to prepare it

while the interview is still fresh in your mind. Moreover, you want to

Through the Post-Interview Letter you also have the opportunity to

clarify or make additional points that you may not have been able to

convey during the interview, either because you ran out of time or you

did not think about it. Consider the Post-Interview Letter as an extension

of the interview. It’s an opportunity to make a final summation and

provide your closing remarks for the hiring manager—again.

Dear Mr. Smith:

I would like thank you for taking the time to meet with me (today/yesterday/date).

The interview was an interesting and exciting process, and I learned a great deal

about you and your organization.

I feel our discussion solidified my understanding of the position, and I feel I am a

very qualified candidate for the following reasons:

• Reason 1

• Reason 2

• Reason 3

Based on our discussion there are several things that we agreed required follow-up on

my part. I have addressed the items noted and will follow up shortly with the

remaining information.

• Item 1 (additional information attached/forthcoming)

• Item 2 (additional information attached/forthcoming)

• Item 3 (additional information attached/forthcoming)

Mr. Smith, I am genuinely interested in the opportunity we discussed and I am

available to start work immediately should you conclude that I am the most

appropriate candidate. I am excited at the prospect of working with you and your

While some networks do appreciate a phone call there are some which will get bothered by it; since it’s an interruption.

What if you get turned down?

If you receive an e-mail form them telling you that you got rejected give them a call and explain them as to how you will approach your CPA marketing business.

If this doesn’t help, then join a low quality CPA network and try to test their offers. Once you can dirrect traffic and grab few leads then you can answer to phone calls without any problem because you know the things.

If even that seems problematic, then do some affiliate marketing with amazon and clickbank and use that experience to reapply to the network.

Many networks allow you to reapply after a few months. Use the rejection letter as a motivation to apply to the network again! The second time around you will get lucky.

Last but not the least, go and get yourseld educated about CPA. The more you udnersand the lingo, the more you will increase your chances of getting accepted.

.

CONCLUSION

I hope you enjoyed reading this guide as much I enjoyed putting it together.

When I first got started in CPA marketing, I wish I had information like this; it would have saved a lot of confusion for sure.

You might be wondering as to much of what is written in the guide is common sense. The problem is that we don’t practice what we already know and waste time by chasing shiny objects that promise overnight successes.

This is what 90% of the people are doing. You are one of those lucky few who is going to approach your CPA application process the right way.

Think of the interview in the same context as preparing for a shuttle launch. Every detail you address will have a direct impact on the success of your interview. For every detail you do not address, there is a corresponding potential risk of not getting approved by the network.

Networks need to know that you are a genuine person who is not out to ruin their business. The more they can trust you, the easier it is to get accepted. Be honest and do whatever you can to make them feel at ease and want to do business.

Everybody’s journey in their CPA marketing is going to be vastly different. You need to know as to which stage you are in the journey.

1. No education, no experience

2. Education, No experience

3. Education & experience.

If you know where you are in your journey, you can improve the chances of getting approved and working with a top network of your choice rather than think short term, keep applying, keep getting rejected and then finally give up.

I would rather wait for 6 months and get selected to all the networks in a month rather than apply to 6 networks as a complete newbie and keep getting rejected over the period of next 6 months and not get selected in any.

The best part is if you get into one, it is easy to get selected & work for others. Try doing that in the real world? Do you know somebody who works for Microsoft and apple at the same time?

I hope you take some action and start applying to a few networks. Learn more about CPA marketing. The warriorforum CPA network section is a great place to learn.

Don’t do the mistake of leaving your day job once you get accepted by a network because you would still need money to test offers and run campaigns and then the day job that you want to leave so badly will come handy.

Lastly, if you do get accepted to a network, I would love to hear your success story!

Visualize yourself working with some of the top networks a year from now and making a lot of money. Being able to be in control of your time. Being able to make as much money as you want while working . Having the freedom from 9to 5 job while purusing other hobbies and being able to spend time with your family.

How does that sound?

Go crush your CPA interview!
