Sport clubs = most popular youth associations on Lidingö.
Many children start doing organised activities very early, but drop of as they become teenagers. Competition between clubs to attract 6-year-olds.
Football is the most popular activity/sport for boys 13-15 and 16-18 years old.
Horse back riding is the most popular sport for girls 13-15 years, while “Friskis & Svettis” (gym and group training) is the most popular activity for girls 16-18 years old.
The majority of youngsters in the survey consider themselves to have “good health”.
Girls’ self-estimated health is lower than boys’, especially 18-year-old girls (34 of 100 %). Girls are also less physically active than boys. Inactive youngsters’ self-estimated health is lower than physically active youth =
