oHEALTHY LIVING

Oral health, regardless of age, is integralto overall good health. Oral health is animportant but often overlooked aspect ofan older adult's general health. Dailyoral hygiene, ability to access routineprofessional oral health services, andoral health education are all key factors

. that can improve the oral health of olderAmericans. According to the Centers forDisease Control and Prevention, one-fourth of persons age 65 and older haveno remaining teeth. Nearly one-third ofolder adults have untreated tooth decay.Severe gum disease is associated withchronic disease and severe healthconditions including diabetes, heartdisease, stroke and respiratory disease.
