FOOT CARE AND BLOODPRESSURE CLINIC

The monthly Foot Care and BloodPressure Clinic will be on Friday,February 7th. At 9:30. The cost is$10.00. A Bayada nurse will check yourBlood pressure for free before lunch.Coffee will be available.

FEBRUARY BIRTHDAY DINNERThe Young At Heart will be celebratingthe February Birthdays with Dinner onthe 20th. Reservations are required. Ifyou need to cancel, please do so as soonas possible so someone on the waitinglist can take your place. As requested wewill have a raffle. BINGO at 12:45.

THE YOUNG AT HEARTMEAL SITE

Young at Heart Meal Site opens at 11:00am. Homemade soup and coffee will beserved at 11:15.Dinner is served at 12:00. Reservationsare required and cancellations areappreciated.Meals are cooked in our kitchen andserved family style. Suggested donationis $3.25 for seniors 60 years and older.The cost for others is $4.25.Meals on Wheels are delivered by ourvolunteers to seniors who are unable tocome to the center. Arrangements forMeals On Wheels are made by contactingthe Vermont Council On Aging at (802)786-5990.

The new and used store is located on thelower level in the back of the Young AtHeart building. The store is openTuesday thru Friday, 9:00 am - 2:00 pm(We do close from 12:00 -12:30 forlunch.)

For older Vermonters, good nutrition isvery important. It helps you stay activeand helps prevent sickness. The highcosts of food, fuel and health care aremaking it hard for many seniors to putgood food on the table. 3SquaresVT canhelp. 3SquaresVT helps you stretch yourfood budget and buy more food. Itcomes as a monthly dollar benefit eitheron a debit card called an EBT card or ascash directly deposited into your bankaccount. Older Vermonters who takepart are not taking money away fromothers in need. Anyone who qualifiescan receive benefits; there is enough foreveryone. Plus, spending benefits inVermont adds money to our economy,so you are helping support local grocersand farmers. It's good for you and goodfor Vermont. Elders with gross incomesbelow 185% of federal poverty levels donot have a resource limit, so savingsdon't count. The 185% income limit is$1,723 for a single person or $2,268 fora couple. If your income is over thesenumbers, you could still be eligible. Ifso, you do have a resource limit, butyour house, car, and retirement savingsdo not count as resources. Your3Squares VT benefit will not count asincome either, so your eligibility forother programs like Medicare will not beat risk. Many Vermonters are facingchallenges right now. Everyone needsaccess to healthy food, and 3Squares VTis here to help. 1 in 6 Vermonters takepart, including thousands of seniorcitizens.
