Who needs life insurance?

If you were lucky enough to become the owner of a machine that legally printed the equivalent of your pay cheque every month, like most people you would probably do two things:


Firstly, you would give up work or at least re-focus your efforts towards some activity that you actually loved doing (and if they are honest, most people don’t really love their jobs, but that’s another story!)


Secondly, you would no doubt rush to the nearest insurance broker and take out a robust policy with a reputable provider to protect that machine against damage, theft, breakdown and any other possible risk you could think of.


You might even take out a couple of service contracts just to make sure!


You would then take all necessary steps to ensure that you used a little of the money your machine produced each month to keep paying the premiums for the protection.


You would not want that insurance policy to lapse even for a moment!!


Now, what if you were that machine? Do you consider yourself invincible or are you not also worth protecting?


Just a few thoughts to ponder: If you have any liabilities, what would happen to those

debts if the worst happened to you?


Just a few thoughts to ponder: Does anybody depend (for their survival) on your

income?


Just a few thoughts to ponder: Would anybody’s standard of living be affected by your

demise?


Just a few thoughts to ponder: If people do depend on your income, how important is it

that they should be able to continue with the same standard of living if something happened to you?


Just a few thoughts to ponder: How important is it to them?


Just a few thoughts to ponder: If you were unlucky enough to be one of the 10 million

people in the world who are diagnosed with cancer every year, what financial impact could that have on you and your family??


Just a few thoughts to ponder: What if you were lucky (?) enough to be one of the 20

million who survive a heart attack or stroke… what financial impact could that have on you and your family?


Just a few thoughts to ponder: Hopefully, you have a very good medical insurance policy

and plenty of savings!


Now, what’s more important… Protecting the money making machine?
