24. GOLF MEETINGS AND COMPETITIONS: Golf meetings shall be held each year to decide

such championships, competitions or matches as may have been sanctioned by the Council.

The Executive Committee is empowered to make all necessary arrangements for the holding

of such meetings, and to fix all the Terms of Competition and Conditions of Entry for all

competitions. They may also temporarily amend the content and application of Regulation 26

as and when this is deemed to be necessary, but only until the next following Council Meeting.

25. Any breach of the Terms of Competition or of the Conditions of Entry by an entrant without

justifiable reason being given in writing will enable the Executive Committee to take such

disciplinary action as it thinks fit.

26. The Union will hold the following events, and present the following trophies, each year:

THE TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP - played in such number of Divisions as the Executive

Committee shall approve, culminating in the 1st Division Team Championship;

THE INTER-CLUB FOURSOMES TOURNAMENT;

THE YORKSHIRE AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP for the Amateur Championship Trophy,

the Sowden Salver, and the Alvin Trophy, and for the Yorkshire Inter-District Union Plate;

THE YORKSHIRE AMATEUR MATCHPLAY CHAMPIONSHIP;

THE YORKSHIRE SENIORS'AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP for the Seniors’Trophy, and for

the Denham Salver;

THE YORKSHIRE BOYS' CHAMPIONSHIP for the Sand Moor Trophy, and for the Neil

Hardman Salver;

THE YORKSHIRE BOYS' UNDER 16 CHAMPIONSHIP for the Leonard C Johnson Trophy.

THE YORKSHIRE BOYS' UNDER 14 CHAMPIONSHIP for the Richard and Hannah

Holgate Trophy; and

THE YORKSHIRE 9-HOLE CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP for the Kerr Quaich.

All trophies shall be kept in the cabinet for this purpose at Huddersfield Golf Club.

27. COUNTY MEMBERSHIP: Individual Members of Clubs affiliated to the Union may become

County Members of the Union. Nominations for membership shall be submitted on the official

nomination form which together with details of planned events can be obtained from the

Honorary Secretary (County Membership).

The County Membership annual subscription and life membership subscription shall be such

amounts as the Council shall from time to time approve.

All County Members shall receive a county fixture list and a copy of the year book. They shall

also be entitled to purchase and wear a County Members' Tie and knitwear and subject to the

conditions laid down shall be eligible to play in any competition which may be arranged for

such County Members. The Executive Committee shall be empowered to fix the Terms of

Competition, and Conditions of Entry, for such competitions.

COUNTYMEMBERSHIP

Members of Clubs which are affiliated to the Yorkshire Union of Golf Clubs are entitled to

apply for County membership.

County Members will receive a County Fixture list and a copy of the Year Book and are

entitled to purchase and wear a County Members Tie and knitwear. Subject to any conditions

laid down, they shall be eligible to play in any competition which may be arranged for County

Members.

COUNTY MEMBERSHIP Life Membership £40.00

MEMBERSHIP by ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTION. The Annual Subscription has been discontinued,

and all Annual members transferred to Life Membership.

RESIGNATIONS should be advised in writing to the Membership Secretary. Members who change

Golf Clubs, or cease to be a member of a Club affiliated to The Yorkshire Union of Golf Clubs should

advise the Membership Secretary. Life Members who cease to be members of an affiliated Club will

automatically be transferred to the Associate Members' list.

The COUNTY MEMBERS SECRETARY would much appreciate the assistance of GOLF CLUB

SECRETARY/MANAGERS and individual MEMBERS in ensuring that the records are accurate.

Please report any errors or omissions and advise of changes of address, Golf Club or resignations.

ASSOCIATE MEMBERS who require a Year Book delivering to their home address should make a

request to the County Members Secretary, enclosing a suitable stamped & addressed envelope.

CANCELLATION after competition closing dates, entry monies will not be refunded but entrants may

arrange for a substitution.

HANDICAPALLOWANCE - 90% with full stroke allowance (no handicap limit).

MEMBERSHIP - New members are always welcome, with Life Membership being available for a one-off

payment of £40 - members' ties and sweaters can also be purchased.
