WHERE IS CAMP Camp is nestled in on a private peninsula on Nepco Lake. Among the 33 acres of beautiful forestry, the camp also includes 2 lodges, 5 cabins, a swim area, ropes course and zip line.

WEEK 3 | JUNE 19-23WEEK 8 | JULY 24-28WEEK 11 | AUG 14-18We bring families together to have fun! This is an excellent opportunity to enjoy camp fun with the whole family. Meet the counselors, take a tour, visit the camp Trading Post and participate in other fun camp activities. Come discover camp!

Dinner is provided for campers on Family Night. Families welcome 5:30 - 7:00pm.

CAMP OPEN HOUSEMeet our Camp Director Doug and the staff, take a tour, roast a s’more and enjoy the outdoors! This is the perfect time to ask questions and learn about all the activities that take place at YMCA Camp Alexander.

WEEK 1 June 5-9 PIRATES & SCALLYWAGSArrgh mateys! Campers are welcome to come walk the plank while they find adventure, challenges and missing treasures. This week is one for all and all for one.

WEEK 2 June 12-16 OUTDOOR ADVENTUREDay-trip to Devil’s Lake State Park in Baraboo

Explore the natural surroundings and learn about the great outdoors at YMCA Camp Alexander. Campers will make trail signs, learn outdoor survival skills, take a hike and put it all to the test at Devil’s Lake State Park. We will be dividing the campers up by skill level and then taking them on one of two hikes at the park.

WEEK 3 June 19-23 MAGIC & MARVELSDay-trip to Wizard’s Quest in Wisconsin Dells

We’re brave and we’re bold! Villains don’t stand a chance when they meet up with us! We’ll transform ourselves into super heroes through costumes, play, and challenges. Kids are encouraged to dress up.

WEEK 4 June 26– June 30 GOING GREENPassionate about the environment? Learn how to “go green” with fun activities and projects as well as learn about how to support our earth through recycling. Kids will participate in a camp-wide beautification project to help protect camp for future generations.

WEEK 5 July 5–7 MINI CAMPER SAMPLEROvernight Thursday; pick up on Friday afternoon

Find out all that YMCA Camp Alexander has to offer. Whether you are canoeing, kayaking, swimming, zipping down camp’s Zipline, making crafts or discovering nature, this is a great way to explore camp!

WEEK 6 July 10–14 SPORTS GALOREWe’re challenging campers this week to run, jump and play their way through the adventures of sports of all sorts! During the week campers will play in the GaGa pit, challenge the staff in a game of volleyball, canoe/kayak and enjoy a game of Quidditch (Harry Potter Game). There will also be a surprise visit from a local Wisconsin Rapids sports team.

WEEK 7 July 17-21 EMERGENCY SERVICESDay-trip to Wisconsin Rapids Fire and/or Police Station

For campers interested in learning what it takes to become a Firefighter, EMT or a Police Officer this is the camp for them! We will explore an ambulance, fire trucks, police cars and participate in realistic demonstrations with people who work in the emergency services field.

WEEK 8 July 23-28 RESIDENT/OVERNIGHT CAMP Day-trip to Wisconsin Rapids Rafter’s Game.

Resident Camp focuses more on relationship building, bonding with friends and team building. Campers are divided into groups that allow for age and gender appropriate activities and experiences.

WEEK 9 July 31-Aug 4 ARTSY FARTSYDay-trip to Woodson Art Museum in Wausau

Get ready to explore your inner creativity! Campers will participate daily in creative arts including; crafts, bead making, painting, creative writing, drama and more.

WEEK 10 Aug 7-11 WONDERFUL WORLD OF WATERDay-trip to Mount Olympus in Wisconsin Dells

Come to camp and enjoy beautiful Lake Nepco. Swim, build sand castles, canoe and take a run down our camp slip n’ slide.

WEEK 11 Aug 14-18 ROUGH & TOUGHDay-trip to Rib Mountain State Park in Wausau

Campers will go on daily outdoor adventures during this week at camp! Seeing the sights of our natural surroundings, learning about the great outdoors and navigating a couple of hiking trails.

WEEK 12 Aug 21-25 LAST HOORAH!Summer’s not over yet! We’re extending the fun this week with more games, more arts and crafts, more everything!

ABOUT SUMMER CAMPSummer is filled with fun and friendships because all Y camps share one thing; they’re about discovery. With over 50 years of experience in providing a safe, thriving environment for young people, YMCA Camp Alexander is a great place to make lasting memories. Whether campers like sports, creative arts or the outdoors, YMCA summer camps are an adventure for all.

TEEN LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIESTeens who have an interest in learning leadership skills and using those skills with younger campers during the week are encouraged to be a Junior Counselor (JC) at camp. JC’s have a brief training and orientation to be able to assist counselors with younger campers. JC’s will be given age-appropriate challenges that will build their skills, confidence and capacity for working with people of all ages. This program can be applied towards community service hours for high school graduation.

Must be pre-interviewed and accepted into the program by the Camp Director. (Not everyone will be accepted into the program).
