In Science we will soon start working on the theme of Light. In preparation for our unit of work please research the following using books or the internet.

Where do ‘Light Sources’ come from?Do we need light in order to see things?How is light reflected from surfaces?How can we protect our eyes from light from the sun?How are shadows formed?

In Geography we have been completing a unit about Earthquakes and Volcanoes and have learned about the four types of volcano (Stratovolcano, shield volcano, cinder cone and caldera) and the two types of eruption (explosive and effusive). Further study:

● Do further research and complete a fact file entitled, ‘Types of Volcano and eruption’(This can be completed in your book or printed from your computer).

● Read ‘Volcanoes in the Deep’. Complete the questions attached.

Practise your 3, 4 and 8 times tables and the related division facts, e.g.3 x 4 = 12 therefore 12 ÷ 4 = 3
