Students joining College VI in 2015 and following courses reformed in that year ndash ie the 2015 column above ndash
will sit A Level examinations in those courses only at the end of Year 13 they will not take AS examinations in
any of these courses at the end of Year 12 but will sit internal Year 12 examinations Should a student have
decided from the start of Year 12 to study a course from this group only to AS she must sit the AS
examination at the end of Year 12 It must be remembered that AS will no longer count as half of the final A
Level grade so we would expect students taking an AS from this group to achieve a good grade and then to
stop studying the subject in Year 13
Subjects in the other 2 columns will be unreformed for students entering College VI in 2015 and will therefore
still provide the opportunity to take AS examinations ndash accounting for half of the final A Level grade ndash at the
end of Year 12 This will not be an automatic process with decisions on this made on a student by student
case
bull Five or more GCSE passes at the highest grades (A-C)
bull A-B in GCSE PE (for Sport) and in GCSE BusinessICT (for Business)
bull A-C in GCSE English and Mathematics (students who have not
achieved this will be required to resit the examination)
Either BTEC in Sport or Cambridge National Diploma in Business Year 12 Follow the relevant course with formal internal assessment
towards the end of Year 12 to decide on progression to Year 13
