Welcome
Whole School Weekly Challenge
Kindness Challenge: Cut out hearts using different coloured paper if you have it. On every heart write a positive message about your friends and family. Write them for your friends and family, then cut out the hearts and post them or send them a picture of them to remind them how special they are - re-member to write one for yourself!
Wellbeing Idea for the Week
Be Active! Isabella sent in a video of herself doing the long jump. She measured her jump at 52cm!!! Your challenge: How far can you jump? Send us a video and we’ll have a little competition!
Kuba chose the Joke of the Week as a reward for reaching 50 dojos! Well done

Hello Everyone! This week we are beginning our new learning project—RIO DE VIDA!!! Mrs Trotter, Miss Maybury and I are ready and waiting on Class Dojo so keep sharing your work! In the pack you will find some tasks in this order: 1.Red first, 2.Green and then 3. Blue for you to work through and still matched to the groups that you work in in class. It’s great to see many of you challenging yourselves by going above and beyond and SEEKING EXCELLENCE!

Today we begin our new project, all about the city of Rio De Janeiro. Click the picture to watch an amazing drone flight over Rio De Janeiro, and talk to your grown up about what questions you might have about this new and exciting city!
Your challenge: Can we write questions correctly? - Applying our skills to a new subject is how we master them!

Your reading does not have to be perfect! We are learning as we read and want to see or hear you tackling those words using your phonics if you need to. A grown up will be able to help you as well. 3. The Selaron Steps are a set of two hundred and fifteen steps,
covered in bright tiles. When Jorge Selaron first came to Rio, the
steps were broken and dirty, so he made them better. It took
Jorge twenty three years to finish and he used tiles from all over
the world!
One of the mountains in Rio is called Sugarloaf Mountain.
You can take a ride in a cable car to get to the top, but don’t look
down! It is 396 metres tall. That’s about the same as THREE
London Eyes!

Your challenge: Can we identify human and physical features in a city?
Are there more physical features in Rio than in London? Can you give some examples?
Look at the images of Rio. Talk to a grown up about what you can see in the images. Some features are physical features – part of the land and natural parts of planet Earth, e.g. mountains. Some fea-tures are human features – made by humans, e.g. Houses.
Make 2 lists to show the human and physical features that you can spot in the images.

Day 3 Music
Draw your own sets of 4 hearts and add the ‘Beach’ and ‘Statue’ words to them in any order you like. You could just write B or S to make it easier. Practice playing your patterns in time to the beat. Make a video and upload to Class Dojo.

Rio De Janeiro is very famous for its music and drumming during the Carnival celebrations. We are going to practice making some rhythmic sound patterns today. Click on the link the hear the repeated beat or ‘heartbeat’ of the song. This will help you to keep in time.
2. Now we are going to add a 1 syllable ’Rio’ word to some of the hearts as we tap them:
1. First we practise tapping the hearts in time to the beat— 1...2...3...4...1...2...3..4 etc Have a go, tapping the hearts in time to the beat.
We can move the word around and leave some beats empty to make different sound patterns. If a heart is empty we just tap it.
