We have developed an Akrapovic RACING SP series exhaust system for riders who want a slightly peppier TW 125. The Yamaha engine receives a perfor-mance boost with spikier power and torque curves. SP SERIES exhaust sys-tems are made of high-quality stainless steel in order to make the given model of exhaust system more affordable. The Akrapovic RACING SP series is not approved for street use.

PERFORMANCE

Measurements of the Akrapovic RACING SP series system on theYAMAHA TW 125 (without noise damper):

Power & Torque: the power and torque curves correspond to the character of Akrapo-vic RACING SP series systems. The majority of the increase is found at the top of the range, with improved characteristics at the bottom end as well. Essentially, the Akrapovic RACING SP series system enhances engine performance throughout the entire rpm range.

CONFIGURATION

The Akrapovic RACING SP series system is composed of a conical stainless steel header tube and link pipe and a titanium outer sleeve muffler. The components are at-tached to each other with sleeve joints held together with silicon-shielded tensioning springs. The joint between the header tube and the link pipe is additionally secured with a metal clamp. The muffler outer sleeve is made of titanium, while the interior and the inlet and outlet caps are of stainless steel. The muffler is attached to the frame with an Akrapovic carbon-fiber clamp. The system also includes an Akrapovic heat shield which is installed on the link pipe, while the stock heat shield can be installed on the header tube.
