NEW A LEVELS
‘NEW’ A LEVELS
‘OLD’ A LEVELS
Students would only sit an exam at the end of Y12 in a ‘new’ A level if they did
not want to continue it to the end of Y13.January parents’ evening will be very
important in helping to consider which subject this might apply to. (more than ½ way through their
courses)Mock exams at the end of Y12 could
indicate progress and predicted grades.

Tutors / Subject TeachersParent Focus Group (11th November
7pm)
I would recommend parents attend the Parent Focus Group. It is an excellent opportunity to
discuss general concerns in an informal setting. Mrs White is always open to ideas and
suggestions, and over the past two years I have seen points raised by parents implemented
very quickly. The group also serves to comment on future plans for the sixth form, and it is good that
parents views are considered. As the parent of children who entered the school in year 12,
attending the group helped me get to know the school more quickly and realise how the sixth
form is managed and run.
