edition. It truly feels like

just the other day when

my friend Louise and I first

initiated this little

publication. Two heavenly

pregnant women

determined to make a

difference, by keeping the

local community informed of what was happening

and available in the area. Who knew it would turn

into this monster! On that note I must say with

pride that with each passing day I realise how

blessed I am to live in such a beautiful part of our

Country. If you'd like to experience what I do on a

daily bases, take a drive along the Wild Coast thJikeleza route on the 27 & 28th of July and visit

Inkwenkwezi Private Game Reserve, where the

annual Wild Coast Jikeleza Festival will be held.

June has arrived and with it Jacky Frost. Bring on

the warm winter woollies!

To end off I'd like to thank all our loyal

advertisers, distributors and readers – for without

you there would be no WUEC. Let me know what

you would like to see more of or read more about,

so I may improve the service provided to you.

Look forward to reading your valid comments.

Until our next edition Keep Smiling

Pssssst...While keeping your household clean and organized may be a priority, in practice it can be a bit of a challenge, and the more members of a household there are, the more difficult that challenge is likely to be. In order to keep things neat and organized, and thus to eliminate all those minutes wasted looking for missing items, you need a few easy tipsWhen family members drop items anywhere as they enter the house, clutter builds up fast. Keys are placed on counters. Mail is placed on the table. Backpacks are dumped on the ground. To combat this trend, create a mudroom space, even if it's just a small side table and a coat rack at the entryway. Household members should place all items here when they enter the house.

Assigning each member of the household a specific color can be effective in keeping everyone on board with the organizing effort, especially if children are involved. Paint the insides of drawers, shelves and cubby holes with an assigned color and make that space specifically for that person's items. In playrooms, colored plastic bins can serve the same purpose

ilyfontein School held its annual Founders' Day L

celebrations on Saturday 25 May. The highlight of the day was the derby day against Stutterheim in which all hockey, netball and rugby teams from U9-U19 participated.

The Lilyfontein first team Hockey girls drew 2-2, the Lilyfontein first team rugby boys won 22-03 and the Lilyfontein first netball team lost 12-27.

The day included a potjie competition. The team from The Cricketer restaurant won the best tasting potjie prize (see attached pic of Mark the Chef with judges Petro Lotz – City and Guild trained Chef and owner of Appetito catering and cooking school and Rici Hanekom – serious foodie and wine expert who has travelled extensively abroad to cater to her hobby.) The Best Team Spirit prize went to Jason and Bianca Turner from Grade 2. All potjies were sold by the PTA to raise funds for the school.

Entertainment was provided by the Lilyfontein Drummies -SA Drummies Champions of 2013 , marimba band, African drumming circle and of course their mascot the Lilyfontein Lynx

Hogsback Xmas thin July celebrates its 14

anniversary this year from Friday 19 July to Sunday 21 July. It remains a funtastic outing for families - the mountain is less than half a tank away from East London and the Wild Coast Jikeleza area and is the perfect day outing. Outdoor Activities start

around 9 and allows for out of town folk to get to the mountain in a relaxed frame of mind. This year the locals have decided to make visitors the following promise; “Snow is on order, but we guarantee you if not a white Xmas, a green Xmas.”Whether you decide to come on Saturday or Sunday, enough is on offer to satisfy every family member. As per usual a heavy emphasis is on great food, rural lifestyle and speed outdoor family fun, authentic craft and crafters, there will also be great music to enjoy. There are 3 Markets dotted over town:- Hogsbackians trade at the Butterflys Bistro, Foodies gather at Feathers and those looking for craft and entertainment go to the main festival grounds. All Stallholders applications: [email protected] aspects:Shane [email protected] run entries: Brett [email protected] waiting list:Elsa [email protected] enquiries: [email protected]
