Passion, dreams, and a pinch of folly. When the WSK adventure started in 2006 this is what moved us. We had before us an unknown voyage: potentially fantastic, but entirely to be created. Today, after less than a decade, we can look back and rejoyce that 2 of the 4 drivers who won our inaugural race season are now in F1, we can look back and count the people who stepped on track and grew up with us, we can look back and … realize we had a winning vision. But we’re

not interested in looking back, because WSK’s DNA is bent towards the future. This is why, year after year, we have worked hard to raise the prestige and level of competition of our racing series and this is also why we were chosen as the promoter of CIK-FIA events. We are also grateful for the far-sighted approach to karting adopted by the CIK and FIA presidents: Shaikh Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa and Jean Todt. It is thanks to their perspective if we are now involved in the single-seater racing world with the F4 project, eager to honor the trust placed in us by ACI-CSAI President Angelo Sticchi Damiani. WSK is ready for the next challenge.

Motorsport is made of men and machines, sweat and fuel, speed and rationality, courage and safety - apparently irreconcilable factors that become one on track. From Europe to the USA, Asia to Oceania, races blend metal and fl esh together to create one of the best shows on earth. It takes wisdom, respect, and audacity to manage this combination. Anyone who wants to compete on four wheels should choose to rely on people who take the magic of racing as a professional mission.

A GLOBALPROMOTER

WSK Promotion - a promoter that caters to the development of drivers who aspire to become F1 professionals, supporting them from karting to the fi rst steps of formula racing

Page 8: WSK Promotion 2014 | Global Racing System

Whether you are aiming for success on karts or are considering the big step to single-seat cars, there is just one way to go: WSK Promotion, the global promoter that supports drivers from the top levels of international karting, with its signature WSK series and the CIK-FIA championships, all the way to formula racing, with the Italian F4 Championship powered by Abarth, certified by FIA and signed by ACI-CSAI.

ONLY THE BEST

Page 11: WSK Promotion 2014 | Global Racing System

ONLY THE BEST OF MOTORSPORT

The international milieu of CIK-FIA Championships and WSK Series, like the new Italian F4 Championship, is the highest expression of motorsport that young talents can experience on their way to becoming professionals: only the world’s best drivers and teams compete here, traveling to events with trailers as futuristic and advanced as those of the racing elite. Anyone who makes it to this level wants one thing only: to win. And WSK Promotion offers them the opportunity to do so in the most prestigious arenas. It is a simple motorsport truth: if you want to prove you are the best, the WSK Promotion racing scene is the place to be.

Anyone who races with WSK Promotion, no matter how young, gets to perform on the world’s most prestigious stages

Page 12: WSK Promotion 2014 | Global Racing System

Karting has always been considered the breeding ground of new racing talents. And today more than ever it commands the attention of professional motorsport observers. Over the past few

seasons, some of the major teams of four wheel racing have extended their interest to this sport. This is where Red Bull’s selective driver development program has found several interesting drivers to

take on board. And the same is true for the Ferrari Driver Academy, the Sahara Force India F1 Team Academy, the Lotus F1 Junior Team and the McLaren Young Driver Development Program: they all look to the

international kart scene to scout for tomorrow’s stars. And other outfits like Art Grand Prix and Racing Steps Foundation have even chosen to discover and nurture talent through a direct involvement in the world of karting.

DISCOVERING AND NURTURING TALENT

Motorsport is fueled by passion - passion for mechanical engineering, but above all passion for drivers. WSK Promotion discovers emerging talents on karts and supports them in their move up to car racing

DISCOVERING TALENT

Page 15: WSK Promotion 2014 | Global Racing System

This is why WSK Promotion is committed to further only the highest expression of karting, through its signature international series and also thanks to its role as promoter of all championships by the CIK-FIA (the Karting Commission of the International Automobile Federation). The mission, in fact, is to guarantee the best standards of service and assistance to all those drivers who are

currently racing on karts, but are already catching a glimpse of their ultimate goal: F1.

As of 2014, WSK Promotion also plays a new role in young talents’ delicate transition to formula cars. This is usually experienced as a drastic move, but - with the right support and starting from the proper category - it can turn into an easy step towards the highest pinnacles of professional racing.

WSK Promotion has taken on this new ambitious task by becoming offi cial promoter of the Italian F4 Championship powered by Abarth, which aims to function precisely as a bridge form karts to single-seater cars.

The new F4 category is fruit of the FIA’s desire to help talented drivers learn and acquire as much experience as possible on their way to becoming the F1 drivers of tomorrow.

RACE FORMAT

Page 31: WSK Promotion 2014 | Global Racing System

RACE FORMAT

The Italian F4 Championship powered by Abarth is structured so drivers will learn as much as possible. Here are the format, point system, and equipment rules for each round

Each race weekend will open with 2 free practice sessions (40’ each), followed by 2 offi cial qualifying practice sessions (15’ each). Drivers will then face 3 races: Race 1 and 3 will be 28’ long plus 1 lap, while Race 2 (the middle one) will last 18’ plus 1 lap. The fi rst qualifying session will defi ne the start grid for the fi rst race. The order of arrival of Race 1, in turn, will defi ne the grid for Race 2 (the

shortest of the 3), but with the Top 10 lined up in inverted order. The second qualifying session, instead, will defi ne the starting grid for Race 3. In the long races (R1 and R3), points will be awarded to the Top 10 as follows: 25 - 18 - 15 - 12 - 10 - 8 - 6 - 4 - 2 - 1. The short race (R2) will award points only to the Top 8, as follows: 13 - 11 - 9 - 6 - 5 - 4 - 2 - 1. The driver of the best lap in each race will

earn 1 extra point, while the author of the overall fastest lap in the qualifying phase will earn a grand total of 5 points. In addition, true to the FIA-certifi ed teaching mission of the series, the poleman’s performance and telemetric data will be analyzed by ACI- CSAI Federal School instructors and shared with all participating drivers, over the course of a dedicated technical briefi ng.

Drivers will also learn how to manage tires under parc fermè conditions. In the free practice phase, each driver may use 1 set of new tires, plus 1 set of tires used in the previous event (the fi rst round alone will allow for 2 new sets). After free practice, each driver will have to manage the entire weekend - from offi cial qualifying practice to Race 3 - with just 6 new tires (3 front and 3 rear).

PRIZES

PRIZES

The Italian F4 Championship powered by Abarth has rich awards in store, beginning with 40,000 euros for the 2014 title winner

The Italian F4 Championship powered by Abarth bears the signature of the ACI-CSAI (the Italian Automotive Federation and its Sporting Commission). Since the new formula championship is dedicated to the youngest talents, the title of F4 Champion is reserved to the 15 to 17 year old age range. Drivers 18 and over will compete, instead, for a seperate title: the ACI-CSAI F4 Trophy.

The generous prize purse put up by the ACI-CSAI reflects the importance of the series: the champion will receive a cash award of 40,000 euro and, along with the vice-champion, will be enrolled in the ACI-CSAI School High-Speed Supercourse in Vallelunga at the end of the season. A smaller, but lush award also awaits the “18 and over” F4 Trophy winner, for a sum of 10,000 euro.
