Your task: BUILD A MODEL OF A WORKING [FUNCTIONAL] HAND WELL PUMP.

There are many water wells on the Navajo Nation. We will make a model of a functional hand well pump by using your engineering skills.

Background knowledge – you may view the video of the link provided.

· Gather materials and design your blueprint.

· Start building

· Goal: To pump water

Materials you may use: [You may substitute materials if you don’t have one of the list]

· Tupperware container with lid

· Medicine syringe

· Popsicle sticks

· Marble [should fit inside the syringe]

· Hot Glue Gun

· Straw

· Awl or thumb tack [to poke the holes for the lever]
