Artist StatementAs an artist, my goal is to convey the beauty in nature along with the disturbance mankind has upon it. Many of my photographs contain natural landmarks along with manmade landmarks. Another technique I pursue while taking pictures is to show art from a mathematical perspective. I like to show the symmetry and geometry that can be obtained from any object or scene. Many of my photos contain angles and lines extending from all different directions. I believe a mixture of art and math makesfor a very interesting view.
When I photographed the Washington Park properties I chose a path starting on Washington Street and headed west, towards the river. Next I headed south on 2nd street, then turned east at Washington Place. I turned north onto 3rd Street. This is also the order I have arranged the photos in this show.
