Cities that are good places for children and young people are good
places for all of us
Indicator of a thriving eco-system
Indicator of a thriving humanity- a fair city
I recall the installation of a large Tee-Pee in the centre of King George Square (outside City Hall) as part of an early Visible Ink Festival.
It had young people wandering in and out for a chat...
At night the street kids would gather and tentatively enter the space and settle in for a quiet "blissful" hour or so. Big old lounge chairs, a square of carpet, coffee. Mymissinglife.blogspot.com

A six-cd collection of Mozart’s finest works has been chosen by City Hall as the weapon of choice in its fight to rid Brisbane’s King George Square viewing deck of congregating teenagers.
…the music is being pumped through speakers on the deck from noon until 6.00am seven days a week.
The viewing deck had become a popular hangout for teenagers and the homeless who had been seeking shelter at night.
How freaking selfish is Ms Flowers... She wants her kids, and her career, and ...wants to board peak hour busses and trains with her pram. Dave of Brisbane
Buy a stroller and learn how to fold it or call a taxi. Buses can't accommodate lounging babies. logicI am so sick of these lazy mothers who
think it is their right to get on a bus with the pram open. Lazy mothers
