Dubai Summer Intern Programme 2021 Commitment to the Community Pro Bono & Community Service As a signatory to the Law Firm Pro Bono Challenge™, Latham has committed to provide, at minimum, the equivalent of 60 hours per lawyer per year in pro bono legal services. The firm has surpassed this goal every year since making the commitment. Wherever possible, you will be able to choose your preferred practice areas. It’s your chance to see how we work, ask our lawyers about life at Latham & Watkins and enjoy a social event or two. You will be a valued and trusted member of the team, taking on a wide variety of real client work. We may also ask you to produce two pieces of writing and to give a short presentation to your peers during your time with us. Mentor We will assign you a mentor who will be in touch before you start and will be a friendly face to help you settle in while you’re at Latham. Timing & Remuneration 2021’s summer vacation scheme will run from Sunday 4 July to Thursday 15 July 2021. We will pay you US$500 per week, which will be paid to you in full upon conclusion of your time with us and, if required, we will also provide a return economy ticket and accommodation. How to Apply The scheme is open to both law and non-law graduates and undergraduates who are on track for or have obtained a minimum 2.1 degree and have obtained grades of at least AAB at A-level or equivalent. Alongside your cover letter, CV and academic transcripts, we also ask that you provide us with written answers to the following 3 questions: 1. Why do you want to become a commercial lawyer? 2. Why would you chose to train at Latham & Watkins over another firm? 3. What transferable skills can you bring to the role of a Trainee Solicitor? We ask that you submit all of the above required documentation to the Recruiting Committee at [email protected] no later than 31 March 2021.
