world war 2outbreak of the war27th January 1923 The first meeting of the Nazi party in Germany takes place. Their leader is called Adolf Hitler then Adolf Hitler and his Nazis come to power in Germany. German troops march into the Rhineland in Southern Germany, breaking the promise they signed when they lost World War Neville Chamberlain, the British Prime Minister, promises Poland that if Germany invades them Britain and her ally France would help. 1 september 1939, German invaded Poland, on the 3rd of September Britian declared the second world war with Germany.

The phoney warThe phoney war was Europe was at war with Germany and they began to get big, fierce strong machinery to try and defeat the unbeatable Germany but in the end nothing happened no fight or no explosions were sent off. Journalists called this the "The Phoney War".

DunkirkDunkirk, was an Evacuation of about 338,226 Army men from The very North Eastern beach of France also near the Belgium border, of which 120,000 were French and Belgium troops, which started on the 26th of may 1940, and lasted for about a week or so, in which 100's of all kinds of ships and boats, British Naval ships, destroyers, Fishing boats, Pleasure boats, Small sailing boats, even Tames paddle steamers took them back to England, to regroup.

Battle of BritainThe Battle of Britain was the German air force's attempt to gain air superiority over the RAF from July to September 1940. Their ultimate failure was one of the turning points of World War Two and prevented Germany from invading Britain.

War at seaThe battle of the Atlantic was fiercely fought in 1943. The Germans kept as many as 240 submarines prowling the sea lanes in wolf packs. They sank about 700 merchant ships before Britian developed several good defenses against undersea attacks. The Britian bombed German submarine bases without letup and convoyed ships with long-range bombers.

Operation BarbarossaOn this day in 1941, over 3 million German troops invade Russia in three parallel offensives, in what is the most powerful invasion force in history. Nineteen panzer divisions, 3,000 tanks, 2,500 aircraft, and 7,000 artillery pieces pour across a thousand-mile front as Hitler goes to war on a second front. Despite the fact that Germany and Russia had signed a "pact" in 1939, each guaranteeing the other a specific region of influence without interference from the other, suspicion remained high. When the Soviet Union invaded Rumania in 1940, Hitler saw a threat to his Balkan oil supply.

Pearl HarborThe attack on Pearl Harbor was a surprise military strike conducted by the Imperial Japanese Navy against the United States naval base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, on the morning of December 7, 1941 (December 8 in Japan). The attack led to the United States' entry into World war 2

D-DayOn June 6, 1944 the Forces of Britain, America, Canada, and France attacked German forces on the coast of Normandy, France, With a huge force of over 150,000 soldiers, They attacked and gained a victory that became the turning point for World War II in Europe.

Victory in EuropeThe Victory in Europe was the day that Europe won the battle of Germany, ended all the misery. This became a national holiday.

Hiroshima and Victory over JapanThe Hiroshima was made history of when the United States of America dropped a nuclear weapon in Hiroshima Japan near the end of the world war 2. The victory over Japan was when Japan practically surrendered which effectively ended the World war.

Pearl harborOn the morning of December 7, 1941, Planes and small submarines attacked Pearl Harbor. They chose this time because most people were at church. At 08:30, a second wave of 170 Japanese aircraft, mostly torpedo bombers, attacked the fleet anchored in Pearl Harbor.Overall, nine ships of the U.S. fleet were sunk and 21 ships were severely damaged. Three of the 21 would be irreparable. The overall death toll reached 2,350, including 68 civilians, and 1,178 injured.

The attack at Pearl Harbor so outraged Americans that the U.S. abandoned its policy of isolationism and declared war on Japan the following day officially bringing the United States into World War II.

Winston ChurchillWinston Churchill lead Great Britain for most of World War Two and Churchill’s ‘bulldog’ spirit seemed to summaries the mood of the British people even during the bad times, such as Dunkirk, and the inspirational victories, such as the Battle of Britain.

During the world war Winston Helped Keep British Moral up and also made important decisions in the war, as well as trying his best to persuade the Americans to join the war, telling them that if they don't join now, it will be too late. Britain had been fighting alone for 3 years and was on the verge of being invaded, if Britain had been invaded, the outcome of WW2 could have been much different for many reasons, and the Nazis may have won WW2. For many reasons, such as they could have put all there force into attacking the eastern front, instead of having there army divided with some attacking Britain to the west, and some attacking the USSR to the east. Had Britain been invaded, The Nazis may have defeated the USSR and this would have made the Nazis victorious and won WW2. Churchill lead Britain to win the world war lead Britain through very bad times he persuaded many major presidents to come with Britain to defeat Germany.
