More Catholic school and Arataki school have

been learning to design and build their own

carts, and then tested them at the racetrack.

This is really great experience for the kids, they are learning science, maths, art, design technology…everything that goes into building a go cart. This has been a great project to bring the three schools together and have a lot of fun at the same time.

MADE BY BLICKLE: POLYURETHANE IN ITS BEST FORM

Going from the perfect material to the optimum product: When it comes to polyurethane, the production details make all the difference. This is why we have educated ourselves in order to become PU specialists.

The material composition and how it is processed are two essenti-al pillars for quality. We blast, clean and prime the metal wheel centres fully automatically. The polyurethane is casted using a low-pressure hot-casting method with computer-aided casting machines. Here, the basic components are degassed, mixed preci-sely and metered. Required additives, such as colour pigments, activators or static inhibitors can be mixed in exactly. Tempering is done during several defined cycles, giving the PU the optimum mechanical and dynamic characteristics.

competing in the National Lion Foundation YES

(Young Enterprise Scheme) program have really

turned heads with their innovative Holdfast

A combination of enthusiastic young minds showing drive and innovation these students have identified a need in the market and provided a simple solution. Working closely with Health and Safety the team of four have researched the different areas of the YES business program to bring this winning product to the market.

Recently exhibiting at Southmac 2017 the Holdfast bottle belt trolley has gained further publicity and awareness. Slowly but surely the general public is realising that moving a gas bottle without the correct equipment is both dangerous and not in accord with H & S regulations.
