Especially suitable for wheel flange lubrication systems in NLGI 000 and e. g. NLGI 2 for stationary systems, all-season usable, wide temperature range -40 °C up to +120 °C, high pressure resistance, work stable, water resistant, excellent corrosion protection, synthetic base oil, best pumpable and sprayable. Good adhesiveness and applicable onto wet surfaces. Free of solid lubricants or particles, synergistic efficient additives reduces the metal contact in the area of boundary and mixed friction. Friction and wear values are very reduced at high surface pressure.Vogel, Baier & Köppel, REBS, Moklansa, Schreck-Mieves.
SINTONO TERRA SK modified and made suitable for dual application of the guiding surfaces and top of rail, high pressure resistance, work stable and excellently water resistant, applicable onto wet surfaces. Synergistic efficient additives and a white solid lubricant combination are building chemical reaction layers in the boundary and mixed friction area. Gel paste, fully synthetic, with solid lubricant package of selected metal pigments (particles < 25 µm), excellent EP properties, extremely water resistant with high adhesion efficiency, all-season usable in a wide temperature range, highly sprayable down to -25 °C, for lubricant distribution on the rail track at the most efficient application rate. Provides a high wear protection and sufficient friction moments for traction, chemical reaction layers protect metal surfaces, efficient in avoiding pittings (filling effect). Specially suitable for multi applications of rail heads, guiding surfaces and switches. Very structure stable and best homogenized gel paste product, therefore recommended and suitable for wheel flange (NLGI 00) and track side (NLGI 1) lubrication systems. ®TURMOTEMP N 182 is a PFPE-containing grease with high pressure stability and high vacuum resistance. Best compatibility with silicone rubber.
Turmogrease Li 802 DB, a special lubricant fbearings of high speed trains, passenger trains, metro and underground vehicles, freight trains as well as low platform trains of all well-known manufacturers and operating companies. This multipurpose grease for wheel set bearings provides excellent lubrication even at high speed. Turmogrease L 802 EP Plus is a multipurpose grease for longterm application up to 1,5 m km in a very broad temperature range. Successful tests and referen-ces by FAG tribology department attest good lubrication properties for all trains at speeds up to 230 km/h.

Demands on the Right Lubricant
Lubricant Behavior at High Speed
To investigate the semifluid grease adhesion behavior on a wheel flange at high speed lubricant is applied in a defined manner onto the wheel flange flute (concave radius). If there is sufficient adhesion the correct amount of lubricant will stay on the flute.If there is insufficient adhesion the centrifugal force pushes the grease up to the wheel flange top from where it becomes lost.

Lubricant adhesion test with semifluid grease onto a original ICE wheel flange at R&D Centre of Deutsche Bahn AG in Munich (at 150 km/h and 250 km/h).
