It is powerful and important…
It is powerful and important…
I am the raindrops falling from the sky and dripping into puddles.
I am the water coming from the sprinkler where children play.
I am the water running from your faucet when you take a cool drink.
I am the water spraying from your hose when you water your crops.
I am the water that lets you swim, laugh and play.
I am the water that cleanses and refreshes you.
I am the water that gives you life.

Sometimes it’s easy… People in our community can get their water from their
own personal well, which is an underground well in their yard…People do not have to pay for water; the town will supply you with water if you do not have a well. -Jamie (Perth-Andover, NB)

The Lucky Ones…The Lucky Ones…
We are lucky that we get water from sinks and taps. Some people have to go outside to get their water. We have purifiers and wells. Some people have to boil their water before they can drink or cook.

It is limited… It is limited… We need to start using water when we really need it and not just for stupid things.

After years of war and governmental neglect ruined the water of Lake Tanganyika in Fizi (Democratic Republic of Congo), many people died from a Cholera epidemic. Now clean water is being piped down from the hills surrounding the towns on the coast of the polluted lake, thanks to the work of charitable organizations, including Unicef and Acted.org(Harneis,flickr.com).

To whom does it belong?
To whom does it belong?Water WellRain is fallingFrom the clouds.
It lands on the ground,Slowly sinking.
Earth’s dirt is a filter. The deeper the rain goes,
The cleaner it gets. It has gone so deep
That it is in Earth’s well.It travels to my well and
Runs up my pipes and Into my faucet.
It trickles out, And I drink a cool glass.

WaterWaterMaybe you don’t know how precious it is
But we need it in order to liveWater is a graceful thing
If you listen closely, you may hear it singThe grace of water is blue and great
So listen closely; it has something to sayWe all need water, the animals and us
And for the last million years, there hasn’t been a fuss.
So come closer, so you may hear:We need to protect what we hold most dear.
The moral of this story that I have presentedIs that water is something that must be
protected!
